totally Guerrero’s fault

La Sombra & Volador Jr. vs Atlantis & Último Guerrero in the National Parejas Increible Tournament final match: heated and good in parts, but ultimately overrun by the breakup angle at the end. It’s not as much the breakup was bad, but it seemed to take the place of much of a dramatic nearly finish they might have done. They did get in their big moves, but there wasn’t any anticipation of the match being over until the breakup started. The breakup felt important, but the match didn’t feel as big as I would’ve expected.

no fear tope con giro

Estrellita vs Amapola, hair vs hair: Not quite as good as that title match, though much better than all the trio action leading up to it. The layout of the match was not helpful to Estrellita. The crowd was predisposed to cheer for Amapola, and Estrellita could’ve used the sympathy from being an underdog. Instead, they worked a even move for move match, and Estrellita doing a lot of moves is only going to expose how sloppy Estrellita is at doing moves. Estrellita is not great at selling, but she’s better at it.

Amapola

Amapola has gone from the woman who stormed out without showing her face when she lost her mask to the woman who poses in all four corners to show off her newly bald head. Much better way to convince everyone it was an unjust finish. Amapola clearly came out of the match as the bigger star for losing, in the same fashion Terrible did last year. I don’t think that was the greater idea where, but it shouldn’t have been a big surprise.
