Cinthia Moreno vs LuFisto in a AAA’s Reina de Reinas semifinal match: Not as impressive a debut as probably desired. It doesn’t make sense to draw a lot of conclusions from a match with two people who hadn’t worked together and one person who doesn’t seem to be wrestling regularly and where someone gets hurt in about the first minute of the match, but this was a drag for the first half and didn’t really pick up any flow until Cinthia’s run of offense. LuFisto had couple okay spots, but this was worked at a slower paced than usual here. This would’ve been better with a few minutes cuts out of the start.
Fabi Apache vs Sexy Lady in a AAA’s Reina de Reinas Tournament semifinal match: easily the best match of these tournament matches. Kind of what I thought the Mari Apache/Lolita match was going to be (or maybe should’ve been), something where the younger luchador pushes the Apache sister a bit before losing. Match picked up as it went along, and while I don’t think anyone believed Sexy Lady was going to win, she did look like someone who belonged in the match with Faby and it made for the last few minutes interesting. Faby’s reaction at the end and Sexy Lady’s break in the middle were both strange, but if there was something else going on here, it flew over my head.
Pentagón Jr. vs Aerostar and Último Gladiador and Juventud Guerrera in AAA FUSION semifinal match: Much better than the other four way from this show. It still had the nonsensical pinbreaks ups and banned piledrivers that make no sense, but the action was strong and everyone looked good. It would’ve been more dramatic with more time between the eliminations; the suddenness of the Aerostar elimination did work, but Pentagon and Juvi could’ve gone for a lot longer. I liked the team work to get Ultimo Gladiador out. Aerostar looked cool.
