Cuervo, Fabi Apache, Mascarita Dorada, Pimpinela Escarlata vs Halloween, Mari Apache, Mini Charly Manson, Yuriko: A good opening match! They do frequently enough that they should be good, but this one definitely was and they should be given credit for it. Halloween was a great man at various points in this match, and his storyline with Mari Apache is one of the best things going in AAA easily. All the things I’ve been saying about Cuervo were still true here, but he did the best he could, as did everyone else.

Juventud Guerrera vs Fénix, Daga, Joe Lider, Psicosis, Jack Evans for the AAA World Cruiserweight Championship and in a ladder match: a more compelling version of the usual AAA stunt show. Throwing all the high flying guys in a ladder match works better than throwing all the high flying guys in a cage, but it would’ve worked best if all the spots they wanted to work actually did. There were some noticeable stunts gone wrong (I’m not sure the finish qualifies or if was just a bad idea executed well), and it was another occasion where the luchadors would’ve been better off with solid ladders which didn’t break on the first stunt.

Juvi was obviously hurt coming in to this match and they got him out as quick as possible, but it may have been for the best. This was mostly one on one ladder match spots with everyone having to lay dead for a while, and it did stick out when someone would just be gone for minutes because others hadn’t gotten in their spots. It would’ve been more so with Juvi – and Teddy and the mystery TNA guy – and it was better not being with them. It let Fenix and Daga really stick out here, which is something they needed to do if they’re going to be taken seriously. I believe Jack Evans was the most sane man in this ladder match, always weird.
