05/27: Mistico hurt, Villanos, Accion, FSE

CMLL.com says Mistico was hurt in the main event of Sunday’s Coliseo show. He hurt his left shoulder at sometime during the match (actually, it seems like the left shoulder never stopped hurting), and they had Averno beat him up to send him out of action. Mistico was strecther-ed out. No idea if/when he’ll return.

I’m no doctor, but I think he should take the surgery.

AAA added a ton of great pictures to it’s website. Check the main results page, and scroll down to the 2007 Oaxaca, Apizaco and Morelia tapings.

Ovaciones reports Los Villanos will be in CMLL for at least the first four Fridays of the month. I have no understanding why.

Accion

CMLL: main event, naturally. We see Mistico do dives but nothing more. Bizarrely, they cut out the Lizmark Jr. turn – Mistico’s already laid out and we see Aguila’s (weak) knee drop to win it. We do get Lizmark Jr. wearing the t-shirt and Perro cranking Mistico with the cane.

AAA: Intocable, Zorro, Laredo Kid vs Abismo, Kenzo, and Six Pack from Morelia. Lots of Laredo Kid highlights, and Zorro backdropping Waltman close to, but not on the piece of sparkly wood he was actually aiming for. They instead do a Laredo Kid dive to put him (and Alicia) thru the table instead. Kenzo kills Intocable with a clothesline and gets the rarest thing of all, an AAA clean pin.

FSE #42 has
05/20 Coliseo: Felino, La Máscara Tigre Metalico, Máximo vs el Hijo del Pierroth Canek Jr., Ephesto, Pierroth
05/20 Coliseo: Atlantis, Olímpico, Último Guerrero vs Hirooki Goto Ultimo Dragon, Minoru Suzuki, Takayama

  1. AAA 26th results are up on ByL but I can’t seem to open the post with the results. The board works fine which is odd.

  2. They probably could’ve even issued an updated card for that show – we knew La Mascara and Mascara Purpura were out via injury earlier and Hijo de Pierroth was in Japan. Dragon’s the odd one, since he doesn’t work rudo ever and probably didn’t here.

From the footage of it going on during the FSE intro, I’m relatively sure everyone made the opener who was supposed there was. Someone had to fill in for Metalico in the segunda, but we’ll figure that Saturday I hope.

  3. Ugh… Extreme Tiger is the new Mexican Power. So they’ve teamed him with the only 3 guys he is farmiliar working with and totally ignoring the fact he feuded with Juventud a year ago in AAA. This is 100% Konnan booking.

  4. Morelia looks like such an awesome venue.

You’re right. It’s strange that Villanos are working Arena Mexico regularly. Could one of them be shopping his mask around? They have to be thinking about cashing in on the masks.

I watched AAA today. No one in the audience seems to care about the gimmick matches and constant run-ins. During MP’s vs. Secta there were faint “Psicosis” and “Lider” chants, and that’s it. Everyone was seated, and just didn’t seem into it. But Konnan and Mesias cut great promos, and captivate the audience for TV.

  5. So now that Psicosis is out of Mexican powers and replaced by Extreme tiger, that makes it the worst.. stable… ever right?

  6. I should clarify… I don’t mean it’s typical Konnan booking because it sucks. I like a lot of Konnan’s ideas. I just meant it’s right up his alley to forget about past angles and logical future angles just to team up guys who are his buddies and he thinks belong together b/c they work the same style.

  7. I think AAA needs someone to filter out the obviously bad ideas that come from Konnan. My guess is even when he comes up with something bad, people might be afraid to say something to him. I sometimes wonder why he has so much power in AAA. My guess is that when Pena was dying, he looked around at what he had, and realized he needed someone in charge of the dressing room, and someone who really understood Pena’s vision.

  8. Forgot to mention, I watched “AAA LLL” from Coliseo Monterrey last night. For those who don’t know what I’m babbling about, I pay $10 a month to watch it on JUMPTV.com. It’s funny watching AAA without Konnan as booker. Last night, they had XPAC on TV doing a heel American gimmick waving the flag and all that. XPAC was throwing dropkicks and Chessman was making XPAC look great.

They have a big “AAA LLL” ring apron facing the cameras. The kid from Lomejordelalucha did commentary. Some LPTV stations are still carrying this show in San Antonio, Brownsville, Laredo, Odessa, and Corpus Christi. They lost Dallas a few months ago.

  9. I wish I could get that show on a regular basis. Shame it costs money now. I loved the old days of getting together in a chat room and marking out or badmouthing what was airing with 3 or 4 other guys.

  10. For the 1st time on FSE they plugged a match for next week, saying the Mistico, Sagrado, Volador Jr. vs Averno, Mephisto, Ephesto match would air next week.

Yeah, that show, “Llaves y Candados” always produced a few laughs. The name alone is a laugh. It comes from a long-running radio show on Multimedios Radio. There’s a chat room on JumpTV for all programs. When the Lucha is on there are about 6 or 7 people, but they’re not fun to chat with about Lucha.

    “”””””””””””””””””””””””””””

It went from worst to worstest…

About Konnan forgetting past angles… well, Shocker and Bucanero were feuding Corleone last December, a month later… Bingo!! They’re best buddies without even a skit with them becoming friends, not even the typical run in to help while a beatdown.

  13. Sunday pic’s back up at last:)

    Last nights semi main was almost a completely new match from the lineups;
    Valiente in! :)
Unfortunately, leono had to follow him :(

And Kid Tiger subbing for his old man. Whats the script with Kid Tiger btw – is he any good, because he kinda sucked in that match on TV at the weekend. Normally you can get an idea if someone’s good/ready from one or two exchanges even if they don’t do much else in the match. But even from that, Kid Tiger didn’t look too hot. Maybe we’re just used to newcomers trying to make a big impression whilst he’s more used to the more basic and less spectacular IWRG undercard style. Either way, he hasn’t exactly made me look forward to seeing him next. Give me Brillante Jr any day.

Oh, and check out Damiencito 333’s mask. And Los Reyes Del Aire with the triple tope con giro~! :)
