painful for everyone

Aerostar, Drago, Fenix, Samurai del Sol vs Devil Rocker, Machine Rocker, Soul Rocker, Uro Rocker: not all the match I thought we were getting, and not at all a good introduction for Uro Rocker. He looked clumsy and oafish, but still got to lay out all the (in theory) up-and-coming técnicos. It’s a poorly thought out idea to introduce a new Rocker who’s so different from the others; that’s the sort of thing you do when an act is getting stale, but the Rockers are new and fresh. If they had to had to team with a fourth man, it needs to be someone playing the straight man to emphasis the strangeness of the new crew, not someone who both figuratively and literally overshadows them. This would’ve been a poor idea if Uro Rocker was any good at lucha style, or any good at all. Uro was just not any good all the way thru, from starting off by almost dropping Drago on his head, to not doing any better on the dive, to throwing the guys around carelessly on his power moves. It’s even okay to have bad wrestlers sometimes, it’s just dumb to put them in a match that requires them to have the skill to properly take the técnicos offense when they clearly are not prepared for that. (On the other side, maybe don’t trust foreigners to take your flying headscissors to the outside on their first night in.) The only way this would’ve been more poorly thought out is if the Rockers lost.

Dr. Wagner, spanking a monkey

Dr. Wagner Jr. & LA Park vs Silver King & Texano Jr.: felt like they were building up to a big exciting hot tag most of the way, and then it just sort of didn’t happen. They did tease, they did the end match stuff, the middle was just strange. Post match promos were tedious too. Texano needs all the help he can get, he can’t be taken serious and be laid out by Mesías rather easily. Not something you need to see.
