03/23-25 Lucha Times

My cable system has taken away CAN52. I think I can subscribe to a package that’ll get it back for me (and probably FSE as well), but I’m not sure it’s worth it. This would naturally mean the end of GdR recaps (and related DVDs.) I figure I got till Friday to decide (because Comcast takes a day or two to get in gear for this sort of thing), so I’ll let you know then.

GdR: Leono! But not the hair match. Koslov/Mascara/Volador vs Averno/Ephesto/Mephisto should be fun. I dislike Ephesto more than YOU dislike Mascara.

FSE: Leono! The hair match – FS-Latin America is listing it on their lineups, so there you go.

AAAUS: WSX LIVES. Nate Webb and Josh Raymond’s match matches this taping – watch for Josh getting KOed. Main is the 4 on 3 between the Hell Brothers and the Vipers, and leaves me happy, though the screaming girls may beg to differ.

AAAMEX: 03/10 taping. See if you can figure out who Aventurero is. Vipers/Tecnicos main event.

CMLLMEX
03/18 Coliseo: Felino, Mictlan, Valiente vs Loco Max, Misterioso II, Mr. Mexico
03/23 Mexico: Atlantis, Sangre Azteca, Ultimo Guerrero vs Hector Garza, Mr. Aguila, Perro Aguayo Jr.
03/23 Mexico: Marco Corelone, Mistico, Shocker vs Black Warrior, Olimpico, Universo 2000

At least that’s the theory. Assuming next Friday is a PPV (again, no official word, but that’s normal now), they’re going to want to stretch these tapings over a couple weeks. I’m sure the main will air, but maybe they’ll hold back the semimain for next week.

This is also a reminder that the weekend after the PPV, when the following Friday’s lineup comes out, remember that it was booked with the knowledge most of it wouldn’t air, because they’ll be doing the free PPV replay instead.

  1. My grandparents have Dish Network and I go there to watch Galavison but would be able to subscribe to the Latino package but the only problem is it’s like $20-30 a month. I would only gain the Fox Sports Lucha Libre show. I would rather just wait and buy the DVDs from Alfredo. So I know what you mean about having to choose if it’s worth it. If the package for me had CMLL on Saturdays, AAA on Sundays, the same stuff that airs in Mexico, I’d do it. I’d probably order it if I had Dish Network but right now I have Comcast and Dish said I will have problems with a satellite and can’t get a DVDR. I might have to try Direct TV.

These matches look really good. I’m glad to see Misterioso II. I will finally see who Mictlan is. Guerreros vs Perros looks awesome. And I really like the main event. Good week for me as far as AAA goes. Especially since Mistico is on opposing Black Warrior.

  2. 3/10 AAA taping actually aired last week so they should be showing Rey De Reyes this Sunday unless they bust out a recap episode. I wonder if they are splitting it into 2 shows or keeping it at 1 show since they had a taping the next day anyways? They could even show 3/4 of the show this week and save one match or two for next week and air it together with the 3/19 taping since it was such a weak card. I hope not but you never know.

Next week being a PPV is something I forgot about. I wonder how that will effect the 2 hour CMLL show this week, if at all.

  3. The PPV was advertised as such on CMLL TV last week, so i guess it’s a stick-on.

Not that i give a shit mind you. You just know what will happen – the Arena mex show the following week will be awesome, and we’ll be stuck watching the shit from the PPV in it’s place.

  4. Rob is right. I saw part of AAA this week and it featured Aventurero. He sang a song and was dressed like a mariachi on his way to the ring. Like Rob said, it looks like Rey de Reyes will air this weekend according to the future AAA shows to air (list on this site). I’m not sure if they usually break it up into 2 weeks or how long the show actually went. I thought US Galavision was more behind than one week.

I’m confused about how the PPV will air. Will it be edited and part of it shown on Galavision (Mexico)? Or is it a total suprise for all involved.?

Also, I meant to write CMLL instead of AAA above. It does seem confusing the other way.
