Shockercito tope into an armdrag

Acero, Fantasy, Shockercito vs Mercurio, Pequeño Violencia, Pequeño Warrior: good idea to put this on the big show to familiarize people with the feud before the mask match, but it didn’t really work out well. Neither Mercurio nor Fantasy looked like anything special, and the feud wasn’t even a strong part of this match. This was more the Shockercito showcase than a selling point for a mask match. You know it’s happening, but I’m not sure you had a reason to care.

rapidly crumbling ground

Prince Devitt vs Dragón Rojo Jr. for the NWA World Middleweight Championship: Not a disaster, but it’s also completely beyond me why people were calling it great. It didn’t come across that way; there were some sloppy looking but neat spots with not much in the middle of it. I don’t think it played to Dragon Rojo’s strengths for him to be trying so much flying in this match. Even though it wasn’t bad here, to seems like there’s other stuff he should be able to do better (though I’m not sure what it’d be.) If there was any reason this was disappointing to me, it’s because my estimation of Devitt is so high that I’m surprised he couldn’t make it work even as a one man show. When Dragon Rojo has been good in singles matches, it’s been as the guy taking the flashy high flyer’s incredible offense while just sneaking in enough of his own to remain a threat, and we only got a little bits and pieces of it here. This was just kind of blah, like the Liger/Rojo match.
