recap

taped 2012-07-13 @ Gimnasio Agustín Millán

Gran Apache, crazy man

Aerostar, Atomic Boy, Fenix vs Dark Dragon, Gran Apache, Semental: Another really exciting match with this crew, though people were just destroying themselves at a frightening rate. Dark Dragon almost ended himself with his craziness, both Semental and Fenix looked shook up at the finish of the main event, and I’m not even quite sure when Apache got hurt. These matches are only good if people can live long enough to do them again.

Dark Dragon, crazier man

El Elegido & Juventud Guerrera vs Chessman & Daga: found it hard to get into after the angle before it went so long. It was good considering what you’d expect for a match with Elegido, but like the rest of the matches, did not seem to get the attention of the crowd. Finish just seemed to be just another near fall that happened to be the finish. I think I was waiting for the spear.

Elegdio fails to notice Chessman walking right towards him with a chair

LA Park vs Abyss for the AAA Latin American Championship: an angle masquerading as a match. You can question the wisdom of flying out Abyss always, but no more so here, where he was just Some Guy who happened to be in the ring while the Jarretts continually interfered and occasionally punched LA Park.

  1. Man you are killing it with the recaps lately. This may be the first time you recapped a show I had yet to make a music video of. In fact since AAA hasn’t aired part 2 of Queretaro yet – you’re all caught up! Congrats!

Don’t mind Elegido – I imagine his eyes were closed and he was taking it what it was like to be back on TV finally.

Totally agree on the opener. It was beyond ridiculous at the end there the amount of guys who were nearly dying. To tell you the truth I’m not entirely convinced they didn’t plan even more! After Dark Dragon went splat you had Fenix do his dive and Aero Star appeared to be trying to get either Dragon or Apache up into the ring and was visibly frustrated. Then Apache clearly called an audible b/c he stepped into the ring and just let Atomic Boy gently dropkick him back out to catch the plancha (which is where their heads banged and he got busted open). So if not for Dark Dragon impaling himself I have a feeling there was more to come!

The good things from that match were the rudos got a chance to fly instead of it being a 100% tecnico showcase and Atomic Boy keeps tearing it up. Aero Star is clearly the class of the three tecnicos even though he’s the least pushed. He has this weird new trick while running the ropes where he steps on the first rope as he’s bouncing off. I’m not sure he’s figured out what to do with that spot yet but I’m sure he’ll come up with something!
