Aserostar, happy to be not broken

Aerostar, Argenis, Atomic Boy vs Gran Apache, Semental, Tito Santana: Joaquin Roldan made a fine decision to force Semental to team with these rudos, because they made a strong team. A losing team, but some good competition for these rudos. Semental was personally great here, helping Atomic Boy to some crazy spots. Atomic Boy was pretty good for most of the match, though looked tentative at times. Peculiar to have piledriver kickout in the opening match, but that sort of thing doesn’t even make me blink (or downgrade the match) at this point.

Atomic Boy arrives, does spectacular move, leaves

Joe Lider vs Psicosis: typical Lider/Psicosis stuff – big moves done, ignored, done some more. They weren’t allowed to bleed this time, or just unusually chose not to. This actually seemed like kind of the blow off to the feud, which would be great, but I don’t have that kind of hope.

this looked painful for everyone

Daga, Extreme Tiger, Juventud Guerrera vs Dark Dragon, Halloween, Pete Powers: The one definite thing you can say about this match was it probably was a lot easier to put together with this Canadian instead of the one who was supposed to be here. Pete Powers was pretty much a punching bag with a badly aim on his frog splash for most of this match, not exactly the role Teddy likes to play. The match itself was good up to the finish. The finish made absolutely no sense, both in the larger picture and in the match. Daga sure was completely fine with Juvi winning the match until he was suddenly not, and they didn’t explain anything in the match to make the turn work. If the idea is Daga thinks Juvi isn’t as good any more, they (shouldn’t be doing this the week after he won the cruiserweight title, because that’s just stupid and) Juvi should do something during the match that convinces Daga that Juvi’s not any good anymore. Have Dragon kick out of the 450 splash or have Juvi do something with bad timing to cost Daga the match. They can’t be perfectly fine teammates one second and not the next second. At least it was a surprise to the rudos, and Daga didn’t take a beating from secret friends.

Dr. Wagner Jr. & Silver King vs Máscara Año 2000 Jr. & Texano Jr.: a long brawl, but one that came off as tame compared after the craziness in the previous matches. They’re still booking this right and the crowd still likes Wagner, it’s just not coming thru strong. Not sure if it was on purpose, but Mascara creaming Wagner every time Wagner decides to pose came off as a nice touch. I think Wagner blew the finish, or at least didn’t realize it was finish time, because they had to do it a second time.

Cibernético, Electroshock, Zorro vs Chessman, el Hijo del Perro Aguayo, Héctor Garza: a lame AAA main event. A lesser brawl than what had happened before, an unconvincing injury angle, and mostly a mess of a match. Why do the big spot with Perro going thru the wood if Cibernético is the one who needs to be stretchered out at the end of the match? (Because Cibernético didn’t want to do that spot?) The Dorian/Joaquin challenge came off as rushed with the Vampiro return right behind it, but maybe it’ll be a bigger deal next week.
