Super X (SUN) 07/15/2012 Deportivo Villa Coapa [Black Terry Jr. (flickr), Lucha Libre NEI]
1) Kronoz b Lucky Boy and Belial and Tornado and Ares and Ícaro and Atómic Star and Magnético and Cor [battle royal]
2) Pete Powers b Durango Kid
3) Turbo b Skayde Black Terry Jr.
Turbo won clean with a campana. Skayde unmasked after the match…
4) Octagón b Fuerza Guerrera decadas80s90s2000
Octagon beat his rival via foul. Lots of mask ripping and some blood.
5) Eterno b Drago (AAA) decadas80s90s2000
6) Juventud Guerrera b Chessman, Fenix (AAA) [AAA CRUISER]
Juvi sang before the match, then retained his title. Angelico was listed in the match, did not appear.

Setsuko Takahashi and Taya Valkyrie had a bikini contest.

CMLL (MON) 07/16/2012 Arena Puebla [El Arte de la Lucha Libre]
1) Black Tiger, Lestat, Tigre Rojo Jr. b King Jaguar, Policeman, Siki Ozama Jr.
Lestat, 29 years old and 10 years a wrestler, surprisingly announced his immediate retirement following the match. He said it was for personal and business reasons, but a tough one.
2) Cancerbero, Puma King, Raziel b Hombre Bala Jr., Metatrón, Stigma
Rudos took 2/3.
3) Ángel de Oro, Máscara Dorada, Sagrado b Misterioso Jr., Niebla Roja, Vangelis
Tecnicos took 1/3.
4) La Máscara, Rush, Super Porky b Averno, Ephesto, Mephisto
Tecnicos took 2/3, the second by excessive violence on Mascara.
5) Terrible b Shocker [CMLL HEAVY]
Terrible took 2/3 to keep the title.

Lestat, the vampire/90s Hardy Brother look a like, was an entertaining luchador who really deserved a better opportunity from CMLL. He only had a couple chances in CMLL, as part of the 2004 version of Guapos U and the brief appearance in last year’s Gran Alternativa. Our records have him wrestling as early as 2000, which would actually make him a 12 year wrestler (starting in Arena Puebla at 17 and basically being stuck in the same spot since), but maybe those first two years weren’t ‘professional.’ It’d be nice if he reconsidered and came back, but I hope he’s happy with whatever’s next.

LuchaWorld has KrisZ’s news update.

Rob has video of Juvi, Psicosis, and Ciclope vs Damian 666 & Los Villanos from a WCW house show.

Lucha Libre In Japan

07/16 REINA X WORLD:

5) Hikaru Shida [O] & Tsukasa Fujimoto b Maki Narumiya [X] & Silueta

Lineups

CMLL (SUN) 07/22/2012 Arena Coliseo
1) Niño de Acero & Pequeño Halcón vs Mercurio & Pequeño Universo 2000
2) Bengala, Leono, Tigre Blanco vs Bobby Zavala, Disturbio, Inquisidor
3) Molotov, Sensei, Starman vs Nosferatu, Raziel, Virus
4) Estrellita vs Princesa Sugheit [lightning]
5) Diamante, Hijo del Fantasma, Triton vs Ephesto, Sangre Azteca, Shigeo Okumura
6) Marco Corleone, Rush, Shocker vs Rey Bucanero, Terrible, Tiger

Presumably, they’re setting up a significant show two Sundays away, but nothing seems obvious. Can’t be another Love Buffet/TRT match since Rush will be gone as soon as Maximo returns. I would be interested in seeing Marco get a shot at Terrible but I’m not sure that’s the main event you run against TripleMania. (Or maybe they can just take the week off.)

The Terra matches seem like 3 straight openers, especially on the rudo side.

CMLL (MON) 07/23/2012 Arena Puebla
1) Akron & Saurón vs Espiritu Maligno & Fuerza Chicana
2) Dalis la Caribeña, Lluvia, Luna Mágica vs Lady Afrodita, Mima Shimoda, Tiffany
3) Pegasso, Rey Cometa, Starman vs Namajague, Nosferatu, Shigeo Okumura
4) Delta, Guerrero Maya Jr., Sagrado vs Black Warrior, Misterioso Jr., Tiger
5) Atlantis, La Sombra, Máscara Dorada vs Euforia, Último Guerrero, Volador Jr.

A reset week with nothing carrying over. Odd rudo/rudo battle in the opener. Afrodita has been contained in Arena Puebla since that cibernetico.
