Electrico, making a bad decision
Judging from this, Bam Bam may be missing shows because he can’t get a day pass from the insane asylum where he now resides.

taped 2012-05-01 @ Arena Mexico
Ángel Azteca Jr., Molotov, Sensei vs Artillero, Bobby Zavala, Súper Comando: A rare match where the star hold actually set up the finish instead of just being another near fall! Super Comando is looking quite good in the couple matches he’s made TV lately, hope there’s more of them. These técnicos don’t really have much interesting to offer right now.

Pequeno Olimpico does not like Bam Bam
Electrico, making a smart decision

Eléctrico vs Último Dragoncito, Bam Bam, Astral, Fantasy, Pequeño Halcón, Aereo, Niño de Acero, Demus 3:16, Pierrothito, Pequeño Olímpico, Pequeño Warrior, Pequeño Nitro, Pequeño Violencia, Pequeño Universo 2000, Mercurio Mini Reyes del Aire: Really fun and really crazy. Lots of guys very impressed (and some in not so good fashion – poor Halcón). I’m very happy for Dragoncito, who deserves a big win. Bam Bam was insane and hated and really shouldn’t be if he’s going to do crazy things. Eléctrico had a great bit and was good other side. Fantasy continued his slightly upward trajectory. Pierrothito was strong. A lot to like here.

winner!

Dragón Rojo Jr. & Último Guerrero vs Blue Panther & Diamante Azul for the CMLL World Tag Team Championship:  OK title match. Ultimo Guerrero tag matches are more interesting than singles matches, because at least two other guys can work while UG is on break, instead of everything grinding to a halt. The problem is Dragon Rojo can’t do much. Not sure if it’s injury or regression, but he used to be able to contribute much more than he did here. It seemed liked he was limited to selling, striking, and taking offense, none of which are strong parts of his skill set (see Panther’s farmer’s roll) and it’s not like these técnicos have super complicated offense. I did not want to see Guerrero & Rojo get the tag defense record primarily for nostalgia reasons, but it’s really going to be a shame if Rojo can’t pick it up.

(present day thecubsfan: it would get better for Mr. Rojo Jr. and the rest of us)
