11/20: Monterrey, Magazines, Halcon

Been waiting all day for Arena Coliseo results, but no luck. No lineups or AAA results either.

Zorro has a leg injury and is out of action. (lomejordeluchalibre)

Magazines
Super Luchas #188 cover is on Cibernetico’s return.
Super Luchas Grafico #19 is all about TNA
Luchas 2000 #344 pushes the Lizmark Jr. rudo turn, which was teased for about one week (and mostly just in Luchas 2000), and hasn’t existed since. Huh.

A new Halcon, 78 is up.
– Interview with Alex Koslov. It sounds like he was originally hoping to go to Japan via the New Japan Dojo, but they sent him to Mexico instead, and he’s really turned out to enjoy it – to the point where he wants to build himself a career in Mexico and isn’t looking at any US or Japan work in (at least) the short term. He’s down on the craziness of the indies (and TNA), and has really enjoyed facing guys likes Blue Panther, Virus, El Hijo del Santo and Ultimo Guerrero, so I think he’s going to work out okay. He’d like to face Mistico in a mask/hair match, and his goal is to improve himself to the point where he’s at a level to make that a more realistic possiblity. – Arena Queretaro results

CMLL (TUE) 11/14 Arena Queretaro Results
1) Zarna b Cometa Negro
2) El Rojo, Principe Valiente Jr. b Drabek I, Drabek II
3) Fuego Latino, Ozuno b Lince I, Lince II
4) Alex Koslov, Hombre sin Nombre b La Mascara, Texano Jr.
They would be building up a title match between Mascara and Alex, but you may have noticed Alex is not Mexican and can’t fight for it.
5) Atlantis, Ultimo Guerrero DQ Dr. Wagner Jr., Shocker

To be honest, I’m not sure of the top two results at all. I’m completely useless when google translate won’t work.
– Q&A with Okumura. In Japan and Canada (when was he in Canada?), going out to clubs was a big thing with fellow wrestlers, but no one seems to be into it in Mexico, which is disappionting. At the same time, he doesn’t like to drink tequilla (his favorite drink in noisy bars. He’s a complicated man.
– Eddie Guerrero bio
– Bio of Baron Sinestro, a Morelos based wrestler from the past.

  1. Koslov was using using a headnapking or something a couple of weeks ago, was he in a hair match loss? Several guys think that Koslov, Killings and Corleone could go huge as tecnicos, I doubt about Corleone, b/c there’s no one in the rudos who could face him and make Corleone look as if he’s the underdog. He’s popular with the ladies, so is Koslov, who’s got a better chance of going tecnico, but I don’t think it will happen after Vampiro and Konnan experiences.

Hehehe… I guess you got something wrong, or maybe the guy who did the interview got them wrong? As far as I know, in Japan the trainers have a lot more control over their guys, so I doubt they would let their trainees go to night clubs, he said that here in Mexico he would go out to clubs but that he doesn’t know how to dance, and it looks as if it is very important here. (Maybe, I can’t dance at all myself) And he said that Tequila is his favorite but that he doesn’t drink too (and none while on diet/training) much of it and he desn’t like noise, so he won’t go to cantinas.

  2. You got the Arena Queretaro results correct aside from there being no DQ in the main event. Atantis low blowed Wagner and got the pin.

  3. Wow, tonight’s show at Arena Mexico sounded HORRRRRRRRRRRIBLE. I’m sure Cubs will have specifics tomorrow but according to the report I just read, it reads like a worst show of the year candidate with tons of fuckups from the wrestlers, referees and bookers.

I’m actually sorta glad it came off this way b/c the last thing I wanted to see was the show drawing well and coming off great b/c all it would have led to is all the old washed up guys returning to Arena Mexico full-time. CMLL has actually made progress over the last two years and moved away from using guys who have no business being in the ring any more, the last thing we needed was for a show like this to set them back to Ringo/Rayo/Villano III vs Cien Caras/Signo/Satanico main events.
