***IWRG 15th Anniversary***
1) Astro Rey Jr., Centurión, Eragón b Gemelo Fantastico I, Gemelo Fantastico II, Pacto Negro
Eragon replaced Asto de Plata.
2) Alan Extreme, Carta Brava Jr., Imposible b Dinamic Black, Golden Magic, Saruman
Golden Magic moved down to this match for Chico Che, Impossible replaced Comando Negro. Saruman won the second fall with “Sugar Reloaded” on Impossible, and the rudos took 1/3 for the win.
3) Centurión, Chico Che, Ultramán Jr. b Oficial 911, Oficial AK47, Oficial Fierro
Oficial AK47’s unmasked debut. None of the tecnicos – Golden Magica and the Traumas – appeared. Oficals took 1/3. Chico Che turned rudo during the course of the match, feuding with his partners and attacking them after the match.
4) Canis Lupus, Eterno, Máscara Año 2000 Jr. b Freyser, Mr. Magia, Ultramán Jr.
Super Nova & Texano Jr. were at other shows. The returning Freyser and Mr. Magia (?) took their places. Eterno bled Freyser early, and was DQed for excessive violence in the first. Freyser unmasked Mascara Ano 2000 Jr. to get the second fall DQ. Mascara 2000 pinned Freyser with the Cerebro Driver to ge the win.
5) Multifacético b Apolo Estrada Jr. [hair]
Seconds were Ultraman Jr. (Multifacetico) and Chico Che (Apolo, interfering often). Multifacetico took 2/3 to take Apolo’s hair, winning the last with his Multimartillo.

4) Mini Aguilita, Mini Cibernetico, Pequeño Halloween b Celestial, El Angelito, Mini Oriental
5) Dick Togo, Gran Alebrije, Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr. b El Puma, Golden Bull, Histeria II
Dick Togo, on a worldwide retirement tour, replaced Super Porky (not on a worldwide retirement tour.) Golden Bull & Puma replaced Scorpio Jr. (moved up a match) and Head Hunter (Perros)
6) Oriental L IntocableHijo del LizmarkScorpio Jr. [cage]
No Niurka. No cage either – just first person pinned lost. Scorpio replaced Juvi. Tirantes was referee. Oriental had Scorpio pinned, Tirantes refused the count, Oriental argued with Tirantes, Tirantes fouled him, and everyone piled on top for the loss. Not sure who gets credit for the win.

Juvi’s excuse for missing this match is he’s been hired by AAA. I still do not believe this at all. Not exactly sure who would be hiring him. Konnan (who wouldn’t want to) is surely back in southern California. Dorian Roldan has been tweeting photos from a vacation in South American all weekend. Also, it’d be a peculiar time for AAA to hire someone when they’re not actually running any tapings. And their can’t be any hold ups about AAA guys working on this particular show, becuase there’s Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr. in the semimain.

I can’t believe the internet trolled me into writing that paragraph. AGAIN.

Meanwhile, a news report says Niurka’s no-show was due to the always popular “fuerza mayor” (which translates to “we’re not telling you”) and fans were furious. Neither of the recaps were that concerned with it, but if the Monterrey show was any indication, there probably were a lot of casual fans who would be annoyed.

CMLL (SUN) 01/01/2012 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara [Fuego en el Ring]
1) Acertijo & Thunder Boy b El Divino & Javier Cruz Jr.
2) Lady Apache, Luna Mágica, Marcela b Amapola, La Seductora, Tiffany
Tecnicos took 1/3.
3) Dragon Lee, Titán, Triton DQ Hooligan, Loco Max, Skándalo
Tecnicos took 1/3. Triton replaced Fuego. Mr. Aguila, for no apparent reason, ran in to attack Triton in the third for the DQ just as the tecnicos seemed about to win.
4) Black Warrior, Guerrero Maya Jr., Sangre Azteca b Cancerbero, Shigeo Okumura, Virus
Tecnicos took 1/3.
5) Dragón Rojo Jr., Pólvora, Rey Bucanero b Mr. Águila, Olímpico, Volador Jr.
Team Dragon Rojo took 2/3, Bucanero sneaking in a foul on Volador in the third.

TV Notes

CMLL’s main television show is listed as returning to Galavision in the US this upcoming weekend. Same evening/repeat late night bit as it was before it disappeared the last two weeks. It’ll probably still be the show airing the same day in Mexico.

Ras de Lona is off 52MX (US version.) It’s been off the Mexico version of the channel for some time, only airing in the US as replacement programming for shows they don’t have the rights to in the US. They changed around the schedule to start the year. There’s a lot more airings of Guerreros del Ring (presumably to cover the same gaps), but they’ve apparently decided not to use one of those slots for the other CMLL show. Ras de Lona is still listed as airing on VivaSports, a Dish Network only channel operating by the same parent company (but one that apparently doesn’t post it’s shows online.) This is the same channel TNA is on.

CMLL really needs to post Ras de Lona on their website, if not include it in the shows people actually can watch. I’ve said this a million times already, and yet they’re going to keep building up matches on a show very few of their fans can or will see. It’s completely frustrating.

4 thoughts to “Apolo Estrada & Oriental lose their hair, Guadalajara”

  1. I hope the Traumas no-showing doesn’t cause any bad blood with IWRG. I’m very interested to see where else Togo shows up assuming this wasn’t a one and done deal.

  2. Link bots can speak?

@Hector: Yeah IWRG is often way too sensitive with the no-showing stuff. Hopefully all is well since they were working with their father/one of the IWRG head trainers unlike last time they got in trouble when they worked a tiny Coacalco show on their own.

Hey Cubs – Mr. Aguila’s run-in actually makes sense!:o They’re doing Triton vs Aguila next week along with Atlantis teaming with Titan in the main event b/c that press conference feud between those teams now doesn’t exist!

Also, Morphosis (great name) and Kraneo (fourth version?) are booked in Sunday’s Arena Mexico semi-main. I hope IWRG raises a stink about this since Kraneo used to be a Naucalpan exclusive gimmick.
