AAA update their site yesterday with a message about Pena’s death.

Pena articles
Mundodehoy.com has an article aout the wake. Cibernetic, Shocker, Tinieblas, Porky, La Parka Jr., Octagon, Pirata Morgan, and Canek are mentions as some of the wrestlers there.
AM.com.mx has the photo of Pena in the casket. (Edit: Steve Sims points out that the’s unmasked Octagon standing behind Juventud Guerrera in the picture; superluchas includes the same picture, with Octagon’s face blurred out.)
– And so does La Cronica

  1. Did Bucanero sleep with Negro’s pretend wife or his hot hot hot hot hot hot hot sister?

Congratulations – you got to see HOOLIGAN!!! I like that show on paper.

  2. Next weeks cards up – Volador main eventing for the 2nd week in a row, woohoo! Pretty average elsewhere, Arena mex looks decent apart from the obvious semi-main. It’s actually a bit worrying for me that a match like that gets such a high spot on the card :o

Normally i’d be pretty excited about a midcard cibernetico too, but after the last one in Arena Coliseo, my expectations are very, very low. :(

I hope last nights main event got plenty of time with it only going two caidas. No sign of results from O’Campo?

  3. O’Campo boycotted Arena Mexico b/c of what happened the week before. He went to the LLF show in Tlalnepantla.

Next week will be interesting b/c Ultimo Guerrero is booked in Japan on the 12th and Mexico on the 13th. Can he make both appearences?

You know… if I stopped following CMLL since May and just resumed viewing last week… if someone had told me the Gran Alternativa would have taken place already, I’d have said “whoa, good for Volador Jr.!” It just goes to show you CMLL tournament booking goes as far as picking a name out of a hat. Hell, Volador wasn’t even screwed out of the finals, he lost a 2 minute first round match!

I WILL KILL FOX SPORTS OR CANAL 52 IF THE VALIENTE VS HOOLIGAN COLISEO SEGUNDA DOESN’T AIR IN TWO WEEKS!

  4. Bit surprised that Apache/Hiroka got the semi-main slot but looking at the card… where else would you put them? Another “promising main and not much else” show.

I’m putting money on Bucanero being beaten clean by Kenzo at some point in the especial.

  5. “Bit surprised that Apache/Hiroka got the semi-main slot but looking at the card… where else would you put them?”

    In the opener! ;)

  6. Opener has to be the right call since CMLL doesn’t do dark matches.:P

So Apache is winning the hair match for sure. Right?

  7. “First TV match…

    Women’s PPV opener”

    F*ck sake! :(

They better still show all three of the top matches!

  8. Momentos next showing ARENA COLISEO stuff! I won’t spoil any of it b/c all the clips were from Sunday’s show. So they had one clip of Warrior unmasked.

Next up is the CMLL Trios Titles match and then the mask match. I guess Mexico’s idea of “pay-per-view” is different than ours.

  9. Thats fucking shit! – and i won’t even get into how retarded they are for showing a clip of an unmasked warrior before the viewers get a chance to see the mask match!

Ah well, the tercera and Semi looked fun, but would probably be missable. The main event, on the other hand was a must see for me.

I suppose we at least get to see most of the highspots and big moments through the vids on cmll.com which is some compensation. And there’s always a chance we may get one match on GdR next week – but in doing so, we’ll miss out on a Coliseo match.

  10. Yeah, I’m gonna agree and predict GdR or FSE air at least one Arena Mexico match each. My buddy Colin says the intro for the TV show this week looks like it was taped at Arena Mexico last night so they may have prepared in advance to do this.

That might mean no Starman/Ramstein match though.:P

I’m not a boxing fan but isn’t this how it works for their PPV’s? People pay to see it live or a few days after and then the fight gets shown on free TV a week or two later.

  11. Yeah, the announcer segments were obviously taped last night because of Morales talking about Pena’s death. Strange.

Only other thing of note was hyping the Hiroka/Apache hair match next week by showing highlights of the challenge made last night before going into PPV matches. Hiroka looked scared; maybe she figured Apache would turn the match down? :P

  12. You’re better at this than I am cubs… can you find the links to the new Halcon issue? It might be up somewhere b/c photos are on the top of the page which usually indicate a new issue. DANGER, FLASH adn VALIENTE are included so this could be the best issue yet.
