I need a second source on this one, and it’s not clear if he was just making an appearance with the Perros (who really just need to start wearing AAA shirts already) or is part of CMLL permanently; I’d have a hard time believing he’d be wrestling full time for anyone.
Whoa, that’s kind of crazy.
What do you mean the Perros should just wear AAA shirts? Are you implying they’re soon to jump, or just that they’re being AAA-esque?
Most of the Perro’s (Perrito, Garza & Aguila) were guys who jumped to CMLL from making their names as top guys in AAA. Latin Lover is another AAA jump, presuming he is full time CMLL, that has joined the group.
Ah. Gotcha. Didn’t even think of that.

It’s very nWo-esque as all Los Perros were big rudos in AAA at one point or another and then decided to jump to CMLL where they were all partnered up(Perrito/Garza/Aguila). Doesn’t take a genius to do something like that.(see: Bishoff/nWo)
Assuming Lover is going to wrestle at least part or full time, the only thing I can think of is how big of a tecnico turn is Perro Jr. in store for? Just wait till all of Los Perros turn on him during a match and all of a sudden he will be the most over tecnico in all of Mexico much like his dad was. Just think about Lover, Garza and Aguila standing over a bloody Perrito in the middle of Arena Mexico. That’s $$$.
Even if it was just a special appearence, you have to figure Lover is done with AAA just b/c he put on the Perros Del Mal t-shirt. The picture alone is gonna be plastered in every newspaper and on every entertainment TV show in all of Mexico. It’s a HUGE loss for AAA even if Lover wasn’t with them regularly, people still associated him with the company.
If he is healed up from his injuries and is ready to work a part-time schedule with CMLL, I’d hold off his debut for the Anniversary. Perhaps setup a huge show with Perrito/Bucanero in the main event, Mistico/Casas vs Averno/Mephisto or Warrior/Guerrero for the Tag Titles in the semi-main and then Wagner/Dos Jr./Lizmark Jr. vs Lover/Garza/Aguila.
The only thing I can say for certain about all this is that after roughly two consecutive years of saying “Latin Lover is rumored to be jumping to CMLL”, Meltzer will finally get the chance to write “*as expected* Latin Lover showed up at Arena Mexico last night”.;)
One more thought…
There would be no Perros Del Mal today if Pena hadn’t had the balls to go forward with the pretty boys feud between Lover/Garza/Perrito/Metal back in 2001. All four were huge tecnicos at the time so risking turning two of them into rudos and alienating half the audience was a gutsy move. Eventually it allowed Perrito and Garza to develop their rudo personas.
Hope he stays, i quite like Latin Lover. and if he’s a Perro and not a stripper, i won’t feel so embarrassed for doing so! :)

And most important of all, Volador Jr in Arena Mex semi-main!! What a week for CMLL’s hottest star, The boy’s going places!
I’m leaning more towards Perrito/Buca in a hair match than Mistico/Warrior b/c CMLL never comes through with the straight-forward big mask match. If it’s Mistico/Warrior they’ll probably toss in 10 other guys for a cage match.:(
I’m also really happy for Volador Jr.! He’s been looking like a star in the last few weeks and finally got rewarded although I’d rather see him replace Heavy Metal than Negro Casas.:P I hope he fit in well. (can’t look at photos b/c CMLL TV today isn’t airing till 8pm!)
Weird no lineups are out yet but Alexis claims the first half of the Leyenda De Plata is next week. So they run it AFTER Santo is done?
The picture of Latin Lover with the Perros Del Maaal is all sorta of awesome.
