Dr. Cerebro was busy losing in AAA, so Oficial AK-47 took his place here. Bloody match, Oficial won.

Fresero Jr. was bloodied, had a drink thrown in his face, and stumbled over to Psycho to be finished off.

CMLL Press Conference
Averno & La Mascara had a scrum at press conference, which included Jose Luis Feliciano getting knocked off the stage. Being a CMLL programmer is a rough job right now. Averno vowed to add his name to the (long) list of people who have unmasked members of the Alvarado family.
There was a few discussions about the Forjando un Idolo, with the final tonight. Rey Escorpion apologized to Ultimo Guerrero, so I guess they’re friends again. Blue Panther and Negro Casas continued to challenge each other. There was talk about the individual groups sticking together; this doesn’t make a lot of sense to me, because they were never really allies, always intra-group rivals. Forjando un Idolo would’ve been more interesting if we actually saw the mentors working with their four students and got the idea that this was a union outside the matches, but that was never shown.
Record has an interview with Angel de Oro hyping up the tournament and tonight’s final. He’s the clear favorite.
Anyway, the interesting bit is Negro, Panther, and UG were all there, but Shocker was not (though Delta & Guerrero Maya were there representing.) CMLL took away Shocker’s NWA LH title at this press conference, which gave him another reason to be here, but he was not. Seems suspicious. Fuego en el Ring has an interview with Shocker in Guadalajara, so he could’ve just been out of town at the wrong time. This press conference seemed to be rushed, only announced an hour before it happened.
Dorian Roldan congratulated CMLL for booking an apuesta match the day before TripleMania. Maybe a bit of sarcasm there.

Aside from the build to La Mascara/Averno I’m thinking the next 2/3 weeks at Arena Mexico will be headlined with wacky matches off of Forjando un Idolo. Next week will probably have Panther/Polvora/Fuego vs Guerrero/Angel De Oro/?Delta? or something wacky, the following week will have a revancha and we may get Panther/Polvora vs Guerrero/Angel De Oro on 6/17.

Cubs – You didn’t catch the semi-main event announcement for that show? Random rudo trio of Nakamura, Mr. Niebla and Mephisto vs. random tecnico trio of Strongman, Sombra & Rush. I think the tecnico trio might have happened recently and I don’t really mind the tecnicos being random since they really don’t spend time making as many tecnico factions as they do with rudos, but the rudos. Geez. Are any of those guys feuding?

I didn’t even realize there was video for the press conference. They’ve got to do a better semimain than that if they want to sell out.
I work shows semi-regularly with Juggulator, who does a lot of deathmatch type stuff in the OH/WV/KY area. Anyway, he has gone out to Mexico quite a few times with Death Falcon Zero, another deathmatch guy from that area. They work shows pretty much along the bordertowns in the New Mexico/Arizona areas. Juggs & DFZ both work for Pondo’s IWA-EC promotion in WV, so maybe he is making a trip out to that area….

What are your toughts on Amapola-Ayumi match? I think it would be great, possibly epic. They are both real and excellent wrestlers, true champions with a lot of resources, unlike a dark figure out there who has a lot of support but gets nothing.
@Arakas: Ayumi was great last year in Mexico and Amapola is Amapola, so the match should be excellent.
I don’t believe Konnan when he says the TNA wrestlers they’ve bringing in are better than the WWE ones, but I believe he says what he has to say.

I appreciate your politeness but I’m not interested in debating WWE vs TNA wrestlers. If you feel TNA wrestlers are better, I respect your opinion on the matter.
I don’t. But I don’t care to argue it either. Comparing WWE wrestlers to TNA wrestlers is sorta like comparing eating dog shit to drinking cat piss.
The intriguing thing to find out is what Arakas has against Dark Angel. It’s clearly not that you just don’t like her as a wrestler. She obviously offended you personally. You should tell the story.

I wasn’t specific sorry. I’m not asking for a debate of TNA vs WWE. The point is that I wan’t you not to understimate the TNA guys just because you may not like the company. I don’t like TNA either, I find it a crappy product, but I don’t just judge the wrestlers for what they do in TNA.
One good example is Hernández: while he was in México he showed plenty of skill with some high flying moves and was a good heel overall. In TNA he’s currently a coward, a cheater, a dull wrestler who relies most of the time on two sluts to distract his opponents for him to have a chance of winning. He’s also part of a crappy and offensive group that promotes the hatred and racism towards México. Funny, while he was in México, he was insulting Mexican people by calling them inferior and refusing to speak Spanish; in TNA he’s a Mexican gangster who tells the gringos that Mexican people are better just because they are taking their jobs and women. That dude is clearly a mercenary with a lack of identity.
There are several other samples of wasted talent in TNA.

The dark angel has disappointed me. I thought she was a true wrestler who loved real competition and was not just a pretty face, but I sadly see I was wrong:
I never wanted her to be in the crappy TNA just because I knew that nothing good will ever happen to her. She’s prioritizing that garbage and stepping away from wrestling and that’s not good at all.
So far this year, there’s no SHIMMER, Japan or any other major deal elsewhere just because of the damn TNA. She only has meaningless and pointless matches against the same women over and over wich also go nowhere. She’s never been a major champion and might never will.
I see her more focused on personal stuff rather than wrestling. What she does is very contradictory of what she says and it’s not something recent. It’s always the same with her every year. I would like her to be like Amapola, Ayumi, Sara Del Rey or MsChif who are among the elite of female wrestling and are champions wherever they go. She was once like them but not anymore.

I don’t want a debate about Sarah Stock. Enough talk of her. These are my last words about the subject. I understand that she’s there to make some money and to do what she sees fit. She’s not there to please me or any other damn fool.
@Arakas: Umm, you do understand that your arguments come across as you doing exactly what you accuse cubsfan of doing (judging a worker based on how TNA is using them instead of whether or not they can work)?
I do not know Ms. Sarah in any way, but I would assume she is guiding her career by the old wrestler’s adage of “make as much money as you can as fast as you can”. I would think that she makes most of her money working for CMLL. Based on the various stories about what TNA pays their women (and the sheer number that have left), I would say that she is working TNA for the exposure. Plus, they totally push her as being from Mexico, even though she is Canadian.
I do not think CMLL has done “wrong” by Sarah, but they are obviously hesitant to make her their female “ace”, which is probably thanks to getting screwed by Corleone/Koslov/other gringos. I think she has shown to be pretty damn loyal to CMLL, but I can’t really blame them for being paranoid. This isn’t really Sarah’s fault.
And anyone who gives up a full-time gig in any major promotion (CMLL) to work SHIMMER or indys is a fool.
@Nikita: I think TNA pays her more. Probably $500=$600 per house show and about $1,500 a week guaranteed just to fly to Orlando twice a month. On a good night she might make $300 at Arena Mexico and $125 at other arenas.
@Alan: What’s sad is that TNA in AAA is totally distracting from a huge stip match that no one expected. LA Park vs. Mesias. I just clicked the link Cubs provided with Konnan talking Triplemania and he didn’t even give that match a mention which is stupid on his part. But I do think that TNA talent might draw for AAA.
I assume the financial terms are favorable for AAA and TNA will want something in exchange at some point. Maybe TNA wants a way to get talent from AAA in the future? “Hispanic market” is the focus in the US market. Maybe TNA wants their stars seen on Galavision? I also suspect that OCESA puts up some $$$ for Mania in their building but does it silently so as not to piss off WWE. There’s no way AAA can guarantee the most expensive TNA names and Mesias’ hair.

That pretty much sums everything up right there and disqualifies you from having any opinion on Sarah.
Plus, you can’t keep bringing her up in every second post but as soon as someone calls you out on it say “these are my last words on this subject.”
These set of comments prove once again there is nothing creepier than obsessive women’s wrestling fans.
My money is on Averno being the “major” WWE signing that Meltzer hinted at in today’s WO news update

They are not exactly “pushing her”, they are using her very often ’cause they need a Mexican gangster, but she doesn’t get a major spot. All those Súper Luchas covers pay off somehow. She’s also the leading voice for the group since the other “Mexicans” cannot speak Spanish. She makes less money in CMLL and yes, she’s been pretty loyal to them despite everything. You speak of SHIMMER like it’s worth nothing. I see great female wrestlers there with a lot of passion for wrestling. They may not pay as high as other promotions but I don’t think it’s very low.

I heard that she’s among the highest paid Knockouts, about $400.00 per appereance plus plane tickets. She might be making a bit more since she has an extended contract.

@LLL: Not trying to pull the ol’ troll standard reply of “Hey dude, where do you get your numbers?” that you see so often on messageboards and whatnot, but… where are you getting $500-$600 and $1500 a month for television? I am not saying that it is not possible, but when numbers are tossed around for the girls at TNA getting $75 per show, I have a hard time thinking Stock is getting that much – if only because why would they pay her that much, but not ODB, Kong or Taylor Wilde – girls they were pushing much harder.
If she is getting that from TNA, good for her!
@Nikita: TNA pays a guarantee plus a fee for house shows. I said $1,500 a week for her guarantee which means doing television and one PPV a month. My house show numbers are not far from the truth, but maybe I’m a little off on the weekly guarantee contract.
