Perro Aguayo Jr., lists, UWE

Perros del Mal sent out a (poorly formatted) ad today, saying Perro Aguayo Jr. would return to the ring on May 8th in Cancun, in a taping for their show. Damian 666 told Record that Perro will appear on the 04/30 AAA TV taping before that. Perro’s tumor has been found to not be malignant, but he’ll still be undergoing chemothearpy for a year to clear out any residue, but the doctors gave him the okay to go out and wrestle once the wound closes. Perro may hold a press conference next Wednesday to talk about the situation.

Perro will end up missing about four weeks. It’s amazing that he’d be back so fast; so amazing that it doesn’t feel like we’re getting anything close to the truth.

CMLL Gaceta post: “Rush has a message to all his detractors”. It’s a list of moves Rush can do! He’s a guy who knows how to do many moves, unlike many fighters (hmmm.) This is supposed to impress. I laughed for about three minutes straight about this concept, but I need to preserve the list forever

  • German Suplex
  • backdrop (suplex)
  • Angle Slam
  • Belly to Belly suplex
  • powerslam
  • fisherman’s suplex
  • vertical suplex
  • Michinoku driver
  • Cradle Shock
  • Tope Suicida
  • Flying elbow out of the ring
  • Flying elbow in the ring
  • tope con giro over the top rope
  • Double stomp to the floor.

Also, he’s skilled on the mat! Video has Rush saying calling himself “the difference in lucha libre” many times. That’s the Perros del Mal tag line.

Forjando un Idolo matches: Diamante vs Hijo del Signo & Puma King vs Hijo del Signo.

You know, we haven’t gotten GDL results via Fuego en el Ring since Sunday 10th, which was a few days before Silueta left Guadalajara to Mexico City. (Naaaaaaah.)

  1. Rush’s list of moves reeks of Chris Jericho and his Dean Malenko ripoff Man of 1,004 Holds list in WCW:
    1. Armbar
    2. Armdrag
    3. Mexican Armbar

  2. @New Talking Wall: It’s said to be his 40th anniversary show, but he hasn’t wrestled since March and he’s not wrestling on this show, so I’m guessing there’s more going on.

  3. @John G.: by looking at those moves chris jericho can teach him a few moves. i mean double stomp to the floor? HOW IMPRESSIVE!

  4. Whatever RUSH! Can you do the Asiatic Spike? NO. Didn’t think so…Can you do the back rake? No. How about the poke of the eyes? Didn’t think so.

  5. One move that doesn’t appear on Rush’s list: Drawing more than 2000 fans to Arena Mexico. ZIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIING

  6. I’m no oncologist, but I have never heard of someone getting chemotherapy for a benign tumor…
Could Perrito possibly be rushing back to get a giant payday before starting chemotherapy, and his hair falling out?

  7. @Nikita: If the world was full of good people, sure!

@Alfredo: Goya Kong does absolutely nothing. I’m also 99% sure she ate Estrella Magica at some point.

  8. I don’t understand your comment Rob…

If he has to get chemotherapy and his hair could likely fall out, you would think they would want to keep it quiet if they could get a payday out of it first… even if not the “biggest”

  9. @Nikita: Aren’t you the same guy that posted in the thread about that Andre Hart charachter? If you didn’t know by then you should certainly know by now what kind of charchters are running around in this pro wrestling business. There is no reason for you to be speculating anything about Perro’s “condition”.

  10. @Rob: The best I can discern, you are saying that one should *always* be suspicious of everything a wrestler says/does… and then you criticize me for being suspicious of a story being propagated by a wrestler (that is blatantly suspicious), because I wasn’t suspicious of another wrestler who wasn’t publicly perpetuating a falsehood (but rather keeping a dark secret)?

Well, I agree, you should never trust anything a wrestler (or anyone for that matter) says/does.

The Heart matter you are obviously misconstruing to make some kind of point – Should I assume that everyone who steps into a wrestling ring has HIV/Herpes/HepC? Perhaps I should. However, very early when I got into this business I was taught to always protect my opponent first, and myself second. Wrestling is about trust. I would say that most of the people I have encountered in this business have always trusted their brothers weren’t hiding their HIV status. That has definitely changed in the last week.

As for how that applies to the Perrito situation – I would actually think that the “Don’t Trust Anyone” and “Wrestlers/Promoters Lie About Everything” rallying cry would actually be a stance that would view the Perrito situation with skepticism.

I certainly didn’t come up with the notion that this whole Perrito situation is suspicious – all I did was theorize about why the situation may be fishy (So that Perrito can quickly cash in his hair in case chemo makes it fall out) based on the “facts” as provided by PdM.

  11. @Nikita: I think you jumped forward too much. There is no chemo. The man supposedly had surgery to remove a tumor from his stomach. You don’t return to action less than a month after major surgery like that. The betting line is that he was in the hospital for other reasons (“knee surgery”) and they needed to cover it up somehow so they turned Perrito into this near-death figure and now can draw with him b/c people will want to see the guy who almost died but made a miracle recovery.

The truth will be in the pictures when Perrito makes his next public appearence. If he really went through what he claims went through there is no way the Perrito in the photos should look like the Perrito from photos in February or early March.

  12. I wouldn’t be the one jumping gun though. I didn’t read the original report in español, but Cubs has up there in the paragraph that the tumor was benign, but he will be doing chemotherapy for a year as a precaution.
Thus my comment about not being an oncologist…

  13. I think you guys actually agree: there is a scam going on here

Rob believes the scam is Perro was never sick (or not sick in the way they said) and hasn’t gotten better, and they’re trying to preserve his value by covering up what actually happened.

Nikita believes the scam is Perro was really sick, but still actually hasn’t gotten better, and they’re trying to preserve his value by covering up what actually hasn’t happened.

Either way, you agree that they’re manipulating the situation, and that we shouldn’t believe all of what they’re saying, but you’re latching on to different parts as what looks to be the actual truth.

I am indecisive about what part is actually truth – I have no trouble believing either of you might be right! – but sure about the general idea that there’s some lies being told.

  14. Rob and Cubs are 100% correct though that the easiest (only?) way for the Perros to clear this up is to get Perrito out for a public statement. I personally would like to see his doctor with him. They could give their version of the story at that point, and it would likely become pretty clear which fact were true. Until that point all anyone can do (and what everyone will be doing) is speculating.

I like Damian, but he is smart enough to know that the world is skeptical of the wrestling business in general, and very skeptical of the PdM promotion and Perro himself after the past couple of years. I would like to think that noone would be stupid (desparate) enough to pull this type of stunt in this day and age when things get exposed very quickly. I would particularly like to think that a promotion and group of workers that I’ve been a fan of wouldn’t try to pull something as stupid as making up this story. But, until they take the necessary steps to back up any or all of their statements as facts, I see no reason not to be skeptical as well.

  15. Adamantium? Really? For Perrito to survive something like that, he would have to be some kind of mutant….

  16. I never heared about a chemotherapy that takes one year. A chemotherapy takes some weeks.
