1) Alan Extreme & Tonatiuh b Epidemia & Halcon 2000
2) Dinamic Black, Eterno, Jack b Carta Brava Jr., Gemelo Fantastico I, Gemelo Fantastico II
Carta Brava didn’t get along with the twins.
3) Cerebro Negro, Multifacético, Veneno b Comando Negro, Hammer, Magnifico
Multifacetico pinned Comando Negro. Challenges, like always.
4) Bestia 666, Damián 666, X-Fly b Joe Lider, Silver King, Último Gladiador
Perros won the first and the third, Damian fouling Silver King for the win. Perros want a trios title shot.

Anibal Jr. appeared, and his father was honored. Show ran very long, ending past midnight. Estrellas del Ring says it burned out the crowd.

Didn’t mention this in the first version of the Lucha Times post, but Daylight Savings Time stats this Sunday in the United States, Canada, and other places – but not Mexico for a few weeks. If DST is kicking in for you, events and shows in Mexico will be taking place an hour later than you’re used to. 52MX, Teleformula and Multimedios air close to the same channel in Mexico and in the US, so shows will be airing one hour later on that next until April; TV grids should show this change, but you should double check. The late night AAA airing on Galavision will probably be goofy too.

In an interview about CMLL’s “crisis”, Ultimo Guerrero told Impacto.mx that the problem is they’re putting a lot of people in main events who are not really stars; they’re being thrusted to the top without having going up step to step. “You can not become a four time champion over night.” UG lists real stars: Atlantis, Blue Panther, Mr. Niebla, Negro Casas, Rey Bucanero, Hijo del Santo (!) and Super Porky and he feels he belongs there too. Ultimo says CMLL needs to make the tecnicos more credible – he feels his matches with Mistico around 2006 did that for both of them – Sombra has spent a lot of time learning, but he thinks La Mascara is better, and Volador doesn’t have the size to be a good rudo. He believes Rush and Mascara Dorada will be good if given the opportunity. UG has no plans to retire, but feels luchadors performances slip if they’re not given anything to do.

It seems to me (and whoever wrote the subheadline) that UG’s issue is with the programmers rushing guys up without giving them enough big wins or feuds, rather than with the guys themselves. Last guy to question CMLL’s programming department so publicly had a great vignette on Raw this week.

Tonight’s Arena Mexico show isn’t main evented by Virus vs Demus, but it’s the headline match. Our poll was going 60/40 in favorite of Virus at last check. Demus making up crazy stipulations that will take place only if he wins is a pretty clear sign to me that he’s not winning; I would like to watch a CMLL where someone could actually win control of a group in a match and then actually kick out people from the group, but that’s not the CMLL that exists. Wouldn’t mind Virus vs Bam Bam or Ultimo Dragoncito or Mascarita Dorada, but I don’t think we’re getting it. Either way, the minis are getting a very good rudo back.

The actual headline is a grab bag trios of tecnicos and rudos, with Mascara Dorada vs Averno continuing their feud. Super Porky is the only person in next week’s main event to appear here.
