CMLL preview, Lucha Underground

Maybe today is the day CMLL gets around to building the rest of the Anniversary card? Today’s card is main evented by the Peste Negra versus the Ingobernables. Casas, Felino and Niebla are still Mexican national trios champions, so Sombra, Rush and Mascara beating them could set up a title match for 09/19. The undercard includes a Cavernario/Rey Cometa lightning match, a feud which apepars to have been going on to live fans but he hasn’t been promoted much elsewhere by CMLL. Atlantis and Ultimo Guerrero meet in the semimain trios.

Today in Lucha Underground newsbits

  • PWInsider says Ricochet and Matt Cross “are in Los Angeles and will be taking part of the series.” They don’t say they signed, but the idea earlier was only people who were signed would be used. That would seem to have major ramifications for Ricochet’s availability elsewhere, but maybe a different deal was cut. Ricochet is said to be in line for a big push.
  • PWInsider says Lucha Underground has started bringing in replacement talent for those who haven’t sign, though they’re only listed as working ‘dark matches’, whatever that means. (It means the first taping is going to be some sort of fiasco, I suppose.)
  • Kaos and Aaron Aguilera – who’s already been in WSX and Lucha Libre USA so he’s going for the hat trick – have been contacted.
  • B-Boy announced he had signed. PWI reported that earlier.
  • Vampiro was also brought in. Vampiro was awful as an announcer on TripleMania. He’ll be an announcer on Lucha Underground.
  • Doors open for Saturday’s taping at 2pm, doors close at 3:30pm, and the show starts at 4pm. Maybe the same for all shows?
  • group Bang Data said they’re appearing on the show, then deleted their Facebook post (but not the Twitter one, oops.)
  • And Alberto is in Los Angeles – coincidence? probably not.
