Triton Special

recap

taped 2013-12-17 @ Arena Coliseo Guadalajara
Fuego, Gallo, Tritón vs Raziel, Sangre Azteca, Shigeo Okumura: Rapid sub ten minute match that was OK for the time. Crowd shot editing made it looks like Gallo blew his finish in the second fall, but it seemed fine in the replay. Raziel made a strong save on Triton’s moonsault, which did not go as far as either guy was expecting at first.

TRT Superbomb

taped 2013-12-22 @ Arena Mexico
Atlantis, La Máscara, Titán vs Rey Bucanero, Terrible, Vangellys: Standard semimain with the técnicos focused on more. Rey Bucanero looked hesitant at times in this return match, but still took Atlantis’ monkey flips. They seem to know they have something in Titan versus Terrible because they make sure to do it whenever they’re matched up. It’s really the usual minis técnico/rudo size dynamic with regular sized guys. Mascara was able to name all the members of TRT off the top of his head, one of the more impressive things he’s ever done.

Zacarias headscissors!

Volador Jr. vs Negro Casas: A good and very heated match. I don’t know how Negro Casas didn’t break himself in half for all time with the messed up sunset flip spot. I loved Negro using Volador’s hoodie against him, the parts with Zacarias were good, but mostly it just felt like they were having a fight for lots of this. Crowd was way into this, and Volador did get them back from totally booing him at first. Casas never just wins via foul, he wins via doing something to put the ref out of position and then fouling. It makes it feel more like he had a plan than he looked into a mistake.

Team Skayde wins (sort of), Aguila/Volador (double), Peste Negra

CMLL (MON) 02/03/2014 Arena Puebla [El Popular, Periodico Enfoque, Porra Fresa]
1) Akuma, Cholo, Guerrero Espacial b Águila Egipcia, Meyer, Paris
Rudos took 1/3. First Guerrero Espacial appearance since October.
2) Arkángel de la Muerte, Hooligan, Nitro b Black Tiger, Milenium, Tigre Rojo Jr.
3) Misterioso Jr., Puma, Tiger b Stigma, Stuka Jr., Tritón
Best match of the night. Rudos took 1/3. Stigma was strechered out after taking the front cracker, back cracker, powerbomb series from the cats (and Misterioso dumped Stigma off the stretcher.) Rudos took the tecnicos mask after the match. Stuka got a new mask and challenged Misterioso to a mask match, and the rudos came back and took his mask again.
4) Rey Bucanero, Terrible, Vangellys b Diamante Azul, La Sombra, Rush
Rudos took 1/3, Terrible beating Sombra.
5) Mr. Águila & Reaper DQ La Máscara & Volador Jr.
Mr. Aguila faked a foul for the DQ. Mr. Aguila appeared to be drunk again, and crowd totally turned on the match. Volador called him out about it while setting up a match with him next week.

Misteriso/Stuka stuff sounds like the mask challenge they do frequently and nothing meaningful. Same way with the main event, more or less.

CMLL (TUE) 02/04/2014 Arena Mexico [CMLL]
1) Pequeño Halcón & Último Dragoncito b Mercurio & Pequeño Warrior
2) Oro Jr., Soberano Jr., Starman b Disturbio, El Rebelde, Hijo del Signo
3) Fuego, Hombre Bala Jr., Súper Halcón Jr. b Espiritu Negro, Guerrero Negro Jr., Shigeo Okumura
Espiritu Negro’s Arena Mexico debut comes in a loss.
4) La Máscara b Vangellys [lightning]
Campana for the win.
5) Delta, Guerrero Maya Jr., Máximo b Euforia, Niebla Roja, Virus
Tecnicos took 2/3, Maya on Roja & Delta on Virus.
6) Cavernario, Felino, Mr. Niebla b Rey Cometa, Rush, Titán
Peste Negra took 1/3, Niebla sneaking a foul in on Rush. No problems between Felino and the other two; it seems as Peste Negra has expanded rather than pushed out the Casas brothers. Other two matchups in this match were Cavernario/Cometa and Titan/Felino.

It looks like the main event is setting up a trios title match, which means Titan will be on this show forever. Sandra Granados is listed as writing the CMLL.com recap this time. It’s an evolving process.

CMLL (TUE) 02/04/2014 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara [@acogdl]
1) El Divino & Virgo b Demonio Rojo & Exterminador
Tecnicos took 2/3.
2) Demus 3:16, Pequeño Violencia, Pierrothito b Astral, Eléctrico, Stukita
Rudos took 1/3, Demus Driver on Electrico. Electrico needed medical help.
3) Boby Zavala, Camorra, Sangre Azteca b Stigma, Stuka Jr., Tritón
Rudos took 1/3. Azteca took Triton’s mask and cradled him.
4) Morphosis, Mr. Águila, Olímpico b Mistico, Valiente, Volador Jr.
Rudos took 1/3. Aguila won via foul.
5) La Sombra b Averno
Sombra took 1/3.

People seem to get stretched every time Demus does his double underhook piledriver, so either they’re really committed to getting it over or maybe he needs to stop breaking people.

IWRG FILL (TUE) 02/04/2014 Arena Naucalpan [Black Terry Jr. (Flickr), Estrellas del Ring, The Gladiatores]
1) Mercenario, Skanda, Ultimo Caballero b Black Niko, Chicanito, Voltar
2) Muerte Infernal, Psique, Versus b Payaso De Plata, Payaso Extreme, Skull Metal
3) Atomic Star, Electro Boy, Fulgor II b Galaxy, Hip Hop Man, Vampiro Metálico
Galaxy looked the best in the match, but was submitted by Electro Boy.
4) Emperador Azteca, Látigo, Picudo Jr. b Araña de Plata, Blue Monsther, Matrix Jr.
Blue Monsther’s 11th FILL show without making a main IWRG show.
5) Aztlan, Destino, Jorge Kebrada, Kanon, Onix, Operativo X, Prodigo, Vertize b Alfa, Dragón Celestial, Fulgor I, Imposible, Omega, Power Bull, Seiya, Sky Ángel [cibernetico]
Gym FILL (Black Terry) vs Gym Skayde. Aztlan snuck in a foul on Dragon Celestial for the win. Team IWRG complained to Skayde that cheating was no way to win such a contest – and Skayde agreed! Skayde said it was not professional and declined to accept the cup, proposing they have a rematch for it at some other point.

Texano says Psycho Clown better get used to seeing Texano as champion because that’s not going to change for a long change. Texano also says he’ll be on Rey de Reyes, but has no idea if he will be defending his title or not. I know he’s a rudo, and I know recent history suggests otherwise, but shouldn’t the world champion presume (or even demand) he’s defending his championship on one of the biggest shows of the year? And now I’ll stop over analyzing throwaway articles.

Soberano Jr. says he was a big fan of Volador, so teaming with him to advance in the Gran Alterantiva was a dream come true. In that interview, Volador takes a shot at Sombra, than does the more normal talk about preparing for the winner of the next block.

Estrellas del Ring has interviews with Kamilion, Xena, Dark Lady, and Lady Monsther to hype the 02/15 LIF all women’s show.

Tony Boy defeated Koko Viper for his hair in Monterrey. I also learned from this recap that Orquidea Negra is the ex-Coco Rosa (Monterrey version.)

Ikaro vs Robin has been added to the March ChilangaMask show.

Samael & Tormenta are champions.

I don’t have results for the 2013-12-08 AULL show, but AK47 and 911 were supposed to defend the tag team titles against Samael & Tormento. That must’ve been when the Bastardos won these titles. This has been your AULL tag team title history update.

CMLL (MON) 02/10/2014 Arena Puebla

Actual correct lineup, though there’s still a little repeat from last week.

Obviously, I need a Espiritu Maligno & Espiritu Negro tag team at some point. Figuring out the third man is tougher. Kamaitachi?

CMLL (TUE) 02/11/2014 Arena Mexico

CMLL (TUE) 02/11/2014 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara
1) Leo & Sky Kid vs Mr. Trueno & Rey Trueno
2) Lady Afrodita, Lluvia, Marcela vs Dalys, La Seductora, Zeuxis

4) Volador Jr. vs Mr. Águila
5) Diamante Azul, Marco Corleone, Valiente vs Euforia, Shocker, Último Guerrero

A looooooong week for Volador Jr.

Lluvia missed a large chunk of 2012 and 2013 with a knee injury, returned for a few months last summer, but appeared in DF infrequently and quietly disappeared after last September. I was guessing the knee injury was too much to come back from, but it looks like she’s giving it another try. (Or they just really needed to find tecnicas to be able to run two trios matches on the same day while Silueta is out of town.)

Got nothing.

Is this a useless post?
Yes, mostly

Are you done with 2013, finally?

Ha ha no. I’ve got 2 or 3 or 4 more catch up posts, and I’m finishing 2013 TxT for some reason, at some point.
