Volador tecnico?, Casas vs Rush, Psyco Ripper

CMLL (FRI) 11/22/2013 Arena Mexico [CMLL]
1) Hombre Bala Jr. & Súper Halcón Jr. b Disturbio & Guerrero Negro Jr.
Tecnicos took 1/3.
2) Dalys, La Seductora, Princesa Blanca b Dark Angel, Goya Kong, Silueta
Rudas took 1/3, Blanca submitting Angel.
3) Ángel de Oro, Stuka Jr., Tritón b Misterioso Jr., Shigeo Okumura, Virus
Triton replaced Rey Cometa (injury). Tecnicos took 1/3.
4) Kráneo, Psyco Ripper, Vangellys b Atlantis, Blue Panther, La Máscara
Psyco Ripper is Psicosis (II) with a slight new snake theme. They presented it as an evolution of Psicosis, not a new character. He got his team the win, taking falls 1/3. In between matches, the four winners of the bodybuilding contest – Dalys, Astral, Electrico and the new Dragon Lee – posed in their bodybuilding outfits.
5) Negro Casas b Rush
Negro won in straight falls in a short match. Rush fouled him in the first, Negro cradled him in casita in the second. and he and Rush agreed to do the hair match soon.
6) Euforia, Último Guerrero, Volador Jr. b Máscara Dorada, Mistico, Valiente
Rudos won the first, despite problems between Ultimo Guerrero and Volador. Tecnicos beat UG & Euforia in the second while Volador dived onto Dorada. Volador beat Mistico with La Mistica (!) to win the match, then shook Mistico’s hand (!!). Guerreros attacked Mistico and Volador tried to fight them (!!!) Volador was outnumbered, but Psyco Ripper and Kraneo made the save. Psyco Ripper complained to Volador that they’ve saved him many times (?) but Volador never is grateful (??). Volador walked out on them.

That sure sounds like the start of a tecnico switch for Volador Junior. Volador’s been cheered by the fans throughout this 3 year rudo run; he won over them with his wins over Mistico in February 2010 and has never lost a lot of them thru his feud with Sombra. It’s been more a universal positive reception for him since the mask loss; even the rowdy tecnico fan club has been wearing Volador masks in support of him.

It’s an unusual time of year to start a big deal turn like this. It usually takes CMLL many weeks to turn someone, which would put Volador starting on the tecnico side right at the start of CMLL’s usual slow holiday period. That’s one reason this could be something else. It’s interesting this started the moment Sombra left town.

Negro Casas versus Rush sounded like it’s going to happen at the year end show. It’s still the strange deal of them agreeing to have a hair match they’ve already agreed upon. Negro Casas is only winning in straight falls if they’re doing it really soon, like 12/13.

Psyco Ripper is supposed to be pronounced like “Viper”; they’re obviously playing off his old membership in AAA’s Vipers but seem to have been prevented from just using that word. The announcers say it a bit like “Psyco Raper”, which is not the way to go. Everyone on Terra explained it as an “evolution” of Psicosis and not a new character, so CMLL Gaceta must’ve had bad info (or people figured out that would be dumb.)

This was a strong Friday night Terra show, all the match were good.

11/23 NJPW: Kazuchika Okada [O] & Yoshihashi b La Sombra [X] & Naito [World Tag League]
Not a good sign when Yoshihashi is in the match but you’re the one losing.

Lineups

CMLL (FRI) 11/29/2013 Arena Mexico
1) Hombre Bala Jr. & Súper Halcón Jr. vs Artillero & Súper Comando
2) Astral, Eléctrico, Shockercito vs Demus 3:16, Pequeño Olímpico, Pierrothito
3) Ángel de Oro, Delta, Guerrero Maya Jr. vs Averno, Ephesto, Mephisto
4) Máximo vs Niebla Roja [lightning]
5) Atlantis, Diamante Azul, Shocker vs Euforia, Tama Tonga, Último Guerrero
6) Blue Panther, La Máscara, Máscara Dorada, Mistico, Valiente vs Kráneo, Morphosis, Mr. Águila, Psyco Ripper, Volador Jr. [cibernetico]

Communication issue: Terra promoted the Leyenda de Plata tournament as starting this week, but the main event is instead a tecnicos versus Invasors main event which doesn’t directly seem to have anything to do with that tournament. It does follow up on the Volador/Invasors issues. (No Negro Casas vs Rush.)

Tercera should be good. Demus 3:16 returns from injury, probably still wants Electrico. Opener was fun last time it happened, will probably be fun again.

11/22 AAA TV Results (Aguascalientes)

AAA TV (FRI) 11/22/2013 Plaza de Toros San Marcos, Aguascalientes, Aguascalientes [AAA]
1) Mamba, Taya Valkyrie, Yuriko b Faby Apache, Pasion Kristal, Pimpinela Escarlata
Yuriko submitted Kristal, and also made a hair match challenge (joining the other two pairs here.)
2) Crazy Boy, Joe Lider, Niño Hamburguesa b Eterno, Juventud Guerrera, Steve Pain
Pentagon Jr. replaced Juvi, who was in Ecuador for a show their Saturday and lost to a Hamburgusa plancha. Eterno fractured his foot on a dive.
3) Dark Cuervo, Dark Scoria, Dark Spíritu DQ Monsther Clown, Murder Clown, Psycho Clown
Secta won by iffy Hijo del Tirantes disqualification. Secta still want a title shot. Consejo appeared, announced Dorian was sending La Secta to Japan so Consejo was taking the title shot.
4) Hijo del Fantasma, Silver King, Texano Jr. b Angélico, Fénix, Jack Evans
Texano beat Angelico.
5) Daga, Parka Negra, Psicosis b Cibernético, el Hijo del Perro Aguayo, La Parka
Perro avoided facing Daga & Psicosis, but they turned on him in the end. Parka Negra gave Parka a martinete. Rudos attacked Cibernetico and Perro. Konnan tried to make the save, and Zorro returned to run the rudos off. Cibernetico told Perro he doesn’t trust Konnan, but Perro said he trusted Konnan and Cibernetico.

Air Date: maybe 11/30 and 12/07? This would make more sense as the double taping since there were two shows of angles.

AAA’s recap mentions Eterno hurt his foot, and Jesus Zuniga posted a photo of someone in a cast. I’m assuming it’s the same person.

Main event suggests a trio of Perro, Cibernetico and Konnan. That really suggests either Perro and Konnan are both setting up Cibernetico for a fall, or Konnan is turning on both of them. Konnan hasn’t been in Perros del Mal for that long, so it would seem unlikely he’s sticking with Perro unless there’s a bigger plan here. Speaking of bigger, the bigger news here is Daga won a match!

From the same group that brought you Electroshock beating megachampion Texano’s team to get a shot at Blue Demon, here’s Texano beating one half of the tag team champions to get a shot at the trios titles. Weird. Psycho Circus vs Consejo has now reached parody levels of repeat, but it’s also clear the real feud here is Psycho Clown versus Hijo del Tirantes and I don’t know exactly what that is.

The whole La Secta push seems as pointless as ineffective as feared all along. It’s also written as if AAA just found out La Secta were going to Japan. Don’t let anyone fool you, no one reads this website.

Mesias is on the same show Juvi’s on and AAA didn’t book him for this show, so really confusing why Juvi was announced at all. Something like an Ecuador show with Mexico and US names is probably booked months in advance to get everything ordered, so I would assume Juvi knew he wouldn’t make this show before it was even announced. It’s always possible Juvi didn’t tell him, though that seems unlikely and the poster for the Ecuador show has been around for few weeks – you’d think someone would’ve noticed and announced a substitution if those things matter. (They don’t appear to matter.)

UPDATED Guerra de Titanes card guessing

  • Blue Demon vs Electroshock for the Latin American championship
  • 8 women/exoticos hair (cage) match
  • Consejo versus Psycho Circus for the Trios titles
  • maybe Cibernetico/Perro vs Daga/Psicosis
  • maybe something with La Parka vs Parka Negra (and Zorro?)
  • possibly something with Mexican Powers versus Juvi’s group (Pentagon replacing Eterno), though they didn’t announce it here when you would’ve expected it.
  • possibly one more match to fill out the card

I hope I’m wrong, because there’s not one match up there I want to see. It’s also not a very strong card; I’m not sure what match is supposed to draw in the people beyond a normal AAA taping. Guerra de Titanes is 12/08, hope it works.
