How to watch CMLL’s Anniversary Show on Terra.mx

How to watch CMLL on Terra

The most important bit: THERE IS NO LINK TO THE SHOW UNTIL THE SHOW IS LIVE. This is NOT uStream or something along those lines with a static page you go to wait for the stream. Terra posts a new page for each stream – same as if it was a news article – and that page is not posted until a minute or so before the bell time.

CMLL Anniversary show starts at 8:30 pm Central Time. (Helpful time conversion page.) Terra.mx will post a link to the stream a couple minutes before. Action will not start until around 5-7 minutes after, so you should have plenty of time to find it.

Terra does not post the shows directly after they’ve aired. They do often (but not always) turn up in the TerraTV section of their website some days after they are. I am efforting to record the show, but since I will actually be at the show, I will not be able to monitor the recording to see if it’s working. I believe other people will be trying to record and something should turn up eventually.

The Easiest Way To Find The Stream

Go to https://twitter.com/terradeportesmx (or follow then on Twitter) shortly after the show starts. They will always post a link directly to the stream, and they will repeat the link and share results during the duration of the show. CMLL’s offical Twitter (@CMLL_Oficial) will also RT the link during the night, but sometimes not at the start of the night.

The Sure Way To Find The Stream

1) Go to www.terra.mx

2) You may get a pop up asking if you’re sure you want to go to the Mexico site. You can check on the box next to “No mostrar mas este aviso” to stop this from coming up in the future. Click on “SEGUIR EN TERRA MEXICO” to continue onto the Terra Mexico site.

terramxselection

3) Once the stream is live (usually with in a minute or two of show time, but sometimes later), a link to the show will appear on the Eventos bar, about a third of the way down the screen. CMLL is usually listed as something like “Lucha Libre del CMLL”. Click on either the name or the picture.terraselectionbar

4) The stream page will automatically load and usually start the feed. (If not, there will be a play button on screen to click.)

videoscreen

There is a stop/play button in the bottom left of the screen, a volume button, and a video quality selection. “Alta” is the highest quality feed, “Baja” is the lowest. If the video starts to hesitate or buffer, try switching to a different feed.

“AUMENTAR” is in the bottom right of the screen, and allows you to watch full screen. Hit ESC to escape out of full screne.

What Does That Orange Circle Mean?

If you see that, it means the video player is having an issue buffering. It could be a problem with your connection – try changing the feed quality (Alta/Baja) to restart the feed. It also can mean the feed has died entirely, which does happen one every other show. It’s usually back within a couple minutes, but you may need to refresh or change feeds to pick it up again.

CMLL 80th Anniversary Preview

Tonight!

1) Fuego, Rey Cometa, Stuka Jr. vs Ishii, Namajague, Shigeo Okumura

From the main event of Dos Leyendas to the opener of the Anniversary show! At least they made the card. The five guys who aren’t Ishii have had good matches (when Namajague hasn’t been hurt), so this works as long as they can figure out how to get Ishii involved. Or how to just keep him out of the way until the finish, as they did with Taichi. I originally thought Team Japan would win, but now believe the tecnicos will get a good opening victory.

2) Brazo de Plata, Máximo, Titán vs Euforia, Mephisto, Niebla Roja

Comedy match to get easy reactions from the crowd, and get Titan and Niebla Roja in a decent spot. Titan should get in a couple crazy spots and the Brazo family will get the win in the end.

3) Negro Casas, Shocker, Terrible vs Marco Corleone, Rush, Vangelis [Relevos Increíbles]

(We had this lineup wrong in the podcast.) That’s like the Alliance to End Rushamania in one trio. Rush hates a lot of people, but not many more than Negro, Shocker and Terrible. I’m not sure how his teammates will fit in with Rush, but it may not matter. The only person Rush is friends with in this match is Marco, and something where Rush’s team loses and Rush and Marco argue after fits with everything else that’s gone on. I’m picking team Casas in a good match.

4) Blue Panther vs Averno [hair]

The most fitting finish would be Blue Panther winning in 0:12 in a wristlock. That’s not going to happen. The onscreen story, or at least the on the internet story, is Panther ended Rodolfo Ruiz (Averno’s father) career and now Averno will do the same to Panther. That should mean Rodolfo in Averno’s corner and maybe one of Panther’s sons in his. My hunch is the actual seed of this idea comes from the Arena Coliseo anniversary show, where Averno was included in the maestros match, there was push back that Averno wasn’t actually good enough to be in that match, and Averno was actually very good – but also good enough to be spun into a feud with Panther where Averno is actually not a maestro at all. I believe that storyline will fade away a bit in this match. Averno and Blue Panther have always been really good against each other and have unique rules to play with. If the fans get into this, this could actually end up the best match on the show, and they’ll need to believe Blue Panther is really in danger to get into this feud. Still, Panther feels like the pick.

5) Atlantis & Último Guerrero vs La Sombra & Volador Jr. [winners advance]

Back in March, when Atlantis versus Ultimo Guerrero was signed, I argued that while that match was probably the biggest match they could do at the moment, the better matches for the long term would’ve been Sombra/UG or Volador/Atlantis. This is an attempt to do a little of both, but in only the most casual way. There’s been only slight interaction between the four luchadors. CMLL building as two separate mask matches, with this match being minimized into a coin toss to decide which one is happening. CMLL could’ve used this match as a springboard to build speculation into which match will happen and springboard new feuds out of it. So far, it’s just been used as a roadblock.

The match should still be good, with the weirdness of close team work prior to each team facing each other. Both teams nearly breaking up but keeping it together seems right. This match was good in March and probably will be good here, though likely with a lesser amount of time.

I had a hard time believing CMLL would ever really do Sombra vs Volador before the match was actually announced to happen. I still have a hard time believing it will ever happen. Ultimo and Atlantis advance.

6) Máscara Dorada, Mistico, Valiente vs Dragón Rojo Jr., Pólvora, Rey Escorpión [CMLL TRIOS]

This might be a good match on another day, but it’s one begging to not get much time and likely to get cut farther if the rest of the show goes long. (I imagine that’s why it ended up as the semimain.) This should be an Estetas win and just an opportunity to do their big spots in front of a big crowd. Mistica on Dragon Rojo to finish it.

7) ? vs ?? [mask]

Longer, more extended format of the singles matches Atlantis has done this year. (Except for the first two falls.) A Gran Guerrero switch that gets caught seems likely; they’ve told that “Villanos pulled a switch to beat Panther” enough to try and draw upon it here. This should be a good match turned great by the crowd reactions, and Atlantis wins it with an Atlantida in the middle of the ring.

Gym Tony Rivera steals a win from FILL, lots of Anniversary preview links, DTU TV

IWRG (THU) 09/12/2013 Arena Naucalpan [Estrellas del Ring]
1) Sky Ángel b Fulgore II
Fulgor I was originally listed, but it was Fulgor II who relpaecd him.
2) Acero & Alan Extreme b Aliado de Dios & Freyser
Rudos took 1/3. Aldiado de Dios stole a pin in fall 1 from Fresero who was good natured about it. Rudos ran the tecnicos into each other in fall 2. Aliado de Dios tripped up Fresero in fall 3, but got double pinned. Fresero fought for a moment, then gave up to give the rudos the win. Freyser and Aliado fought a little after the match, and Fresero declared he was forming his own group. Fresero was the wronged one, but he appeared to be on the rudo side after the match.
3) Canis Lupus, Imposible, Rayan b Astro Rey Jr., Centvrión, Golden Magic
Centvrion and Golden Magic appear to be back as tecnicos, or maybe they only don’t like Dinamic Black. Rudos took 1/3. Match was built around Imposible and Astro Rey Jr. feuding, with Imposible winning clean with the Imposible Driver. Imposible challenged Astro Rey for his title (which was not present) and the two fought each other more after the match. Imposible ended up wearing Astro Rey’s mask and his partners nearly attacked him before they figured it out.
4) Ciclon Black, Guerrero Mixtico, Tony Rivera b Black Terry, Dragón Celestial, Fulgor I
Neza (Gym Tony Rivera) vs Naucalpan (FILL). Fulgore I instead of II in this match. Team Neza won 1/3 in a highly entertaining match, the last by Ciclon Black foul & mask pull on Dragon Celestial (who started the match equally painfully crashing and burning on a tope.) Black and Celestial destroyed each other’s mask during the match and strongly teased a mask versus mask after their match. Terry/Tony and Terry/Guerrero were also teased.
5) Trauma I, Trauma II, Veneno b Fuerza Guerrera, Hijo de Máscara Año 2000, Oficial 911
Rudos took 1/3, cleanly winning the main event.

Today’s the day.  The four guys in the mask match were back on Televisa, being interviewed about the Anniversary show. CMLL Gaceta has quick previews for Ultimo Guerrero and Atlantis as well as a preview of the whole card. La Aficon has interviews with all four guys. At SuperLuchas Alex Ruiz Glez makes his Anniversary picks and posts a CNN Mexico interview of Ultimo Guerrero and Atlantis. If you read thru the lines, either everyone thinks Atlantis vs Ultimo Guerrero is happening tonight, or is still the much bigger deal.

Averno says the unthinkable: he actually respects Blue Panther! Averno prides himself on facing the greatest and tonight will be no exception. Averno says the submission rules aren’t just about who’s the better at holds – these rules mean there must be a clean finish with no excuses. The articles notes this is a match which might headline any other show, but Averno is perfectly content wrestling anywhere on the card as long as he wins.

DTU TV will return on TVC Deportes next Thursday. It’ll be ongoing one hour broadcasts, though the time and day may change by the week. They will be putting the shows up on the internet as well. I haven’t gotten to watch much of this week’s Tercera Caida, but Tuesday’s Arena Aficion show appears to have been a taping – maybe that’ll be the first show.

LuchaWorld has LuchaWorld Podcast Episode #23, talking the recent LA lucha shows they visited.

Cuervo did end up losing in the first round of the AJPW tournament. He’ll surely be in tag matches for the rest of the tour.

This article is headlined “Abismo Negro talks about his title shot“, which is weird until you realize they mean Mini Abismo Negro. Abismo notes the many minis title he’s held (which are no longer active), likes Dinastia’s attitude but figures his frog splash can beat any high flying move Dinastia can do if it comes to that.

Luchadora Crazy Star says she’s headed to Central America soon.

An article about the father of  lucha libre – Costa Rica lucha libre!
