Mistico in Monterrey, IWRG’s Dinamic Black beats AAA’s Fenix, Ultimo Guerrero vs Atlantis

indy (TUE) 03/19/2013 Arena Coliseo Monterrey [Estrellas del Ring., LyC (Facebook)]
1) Mini Hator & Tequilita b Mini Androide & Mini Big Neurosis
2) Aguila Azteca, Rosa Salvaje, Sexy Maciel b Black Crazy, Demencia, Rey Imagen
3) Chico Latino, Galactar, Kaientai DQ Genocida, Iron (Monterrey), Zayco (Monterrey)
Los Lgendarios were revealed to be Genocida, Iron and Zyco. They were DQed for burning Kaiteno and Chico Latino.
4) Gato Fantasma, Mongol Chino, Potro Jr., Sergio Romo Jr. b Bengali, Difunto I, Difunto II, Monje Negro Jr.
Finished involved Potro getting his hands on Hombre de Negro, only for a second one to attack him. One of them was revealed to be LUM promoter Gabriel Martinez, and his team cut Potro’s hair.
5) Delta, Dralion, Mistico, Silencio b Mr. Niebla, Perverso, Rey Escorpion (CMLL), Rico Rodriguez
Rey Escorpion & Sielncio were added to the match. Rey Escorpion was all over the place, working with all the tecnicos and losing to La Mistica II in the end.

Attendance seems to be up.

IWRG (THU) 03/21/2013 Arena Naucalpan [Black Terry Jr. (flickr), Estrellas del Ring, The Gladiatores Facebook]
1) Seiya b Power Bull
Power Bull replaced Fulgore.
2) Chico Che, Saruman, Suicida b Eita, Imposible, Tomahawk
3) Ek Balam, Oro Negro, Silver King Jr. b Centvrión, Freyser, Golden Magic
Silver King Sr. snuck in a foul on Golden Magic. Both schools fought post match again, and a bigger match between sides was set up.
4) Carta Brava Jr., Eterno, X-Fly b Trauma I, Trauma II, Veneno
Rudos took 1/3.
5) Dinamic Black b Fenix (AAA) [IWRG IC WELTER]
Dinamic Black took the first with an arm submission, Fenix took the second, and Dinamic Black snuck in the arm submission again in the third. Dinamic Black’s second defense. Money thrown in. Fenix was unhappy with the speed of the counts in the third fall, and challenged Dinamic to a title vs title match with an AAA referee.

Still no official announcement of a FILL show for Tuesday, but it also still reads like it’s headed that way.

Tonight’s Arena Mexico show has the latest Ultimo Guerrero vs Atlantis match, which exists to publicize their agreement of a mask match. They could go as far as announcing the date tonight, but they need to make sure people who didn’t read about the press conference know the match is not just some empty challenge but is actually happening this year. The two apuesta matches rematch in trios, and Thunder makes his debut. Thunder seems like no big deal to me now because he’s been hanging around B-Shows for weeks and CMLL stopped doing anything new to hype him weeks ago. He’s still new to most people, and it’ll be interesting to see how they react to him tonight.

This past week’s AAA Fusion episode is now up and the fourth part of their Mesias interview. There’s also their upload of the UTDN episode from last night. I missed it, but AAA apparently said they’d start airing Rey de Reyes this weekend. This UTDN episode is not listed with the normal “Part 1” when it’s a two parter, which backs that up. I think this means Rey de Reyes airs over 3 weeks, because they still need to keep that extra week or they’ll run out of TV before Veracruz.

Fenix is thrilled to win his first championship, and also believes he may be champion of an entire brand right now. He may be right. They probably need to explain their plan at some point.

Estadio Deportes report on CMLL’s press conference notes the 04/30 Arena Mexico Anniversary show is also the Kid’s Day show. ESTO’s recap explained Ultimo Guerrero didn’t say he threw the tournament final, but accused Atlantis of doing that, which sounds more like Ultimo Guerrero.

Rob has highlights of late September/early October 2002 CMLL.

LuchaWorld has KrisZ’s usual news update and an update on the CMLL press conference.

CMLL Gaceta has added an Estrellita bio.

A couple Box Y Luchas magazines scanned to photos, from 1970

DTU promo with Nino Hamburgesa‘s seems to list his real name as Ivan Mondragon. “Ivan Mondragon” is nearly as good a name as Nino Hamburgesa.

IWRG (SUN) 03/24/2013 Arena Naucalpan
1) Seiya vs Araña de Plata
2) Centvrión, Chico Che, Golden Magic vs Black Terry, Canis Lupus, Tomahawk
3) Danny Casas, Dinamic Black, Veneno vs Apolo Estrada Jr., Carta Brava Jr., el Ángel
4) Hijo de Pirata Morgan, Pirata Morgan, Pirata Morgan Jr. vs Oficial 911, Oficial AK47, Oficial Fierro and Eterno, Súper Nova, X-Fly and Factor, Máscara Año 2000 Jr., Rayan [IWRG IC TRIOS]
vacant title

FdT – Damian, Head Hunter and X-Fly – were champions, but stripped when Damain no-showed a title defense against the Psycho Circus. Super Nova is due back in Europe at some point, the Comando Elite are probably not going to win with an AAA guy, and the Piratas are Mexico State champions. This seems like a good night for the law.

My favorite part of this week’s Tercera Caida was the frightened look on Eita’s face when Tomahawk scooped up Chico Che to slam and Eita thought he was going to be flattened on the landing.

03/23-24 lucha times

Guadalajara didn’t air this past week – it didn’t air a rerun, which happens frequently enough. The local cable listings are now showing GDL as airing Fridays at 3pm and Saturdays at 7pm local (and they’re still not on daylight time), so maybe we just had the wrong slot last time? I guess we find out tomorrow.

Puebla is still listed as for Monday, but it’s been that way the last two weeks and then aired on Tuesday. If I were the one guy recording this show, I’d set to record both shows.

IWRG on LAS (and possibly AYM)’s start time on Sunday is always listed goofy. It seems like the actual start time is around 7:45-8pm Central Daylight Time. It’s preceded by a Sobre el Ring at 7, so maybe that’s a good time to start (and record for about 4.5 hours.)

box.

== AAA ==

AAA-Televisa: The Jack/Angelico match aired on UTDN, which leaves Mexican Powers vs Perros del Mal, the women’s match, and the Atomic Boy/Gran Apache trios.

AAA-Fusion: Maybe the Fusion match from Monterrey’s now? I dunno.

== CMLL ==

Galavision/Televisa: Estrellita/Amapola and the Incredible Pairs tournament.

FOX: The Rayo/Universo trios, Cometa & Stuka vs Namajague & Okumura

52MX: Euforia/UG/Volador vs Sombra/Marco/Mistico

C3: Marco/Dorada/Maximo vs Ephesto/Euforia/Niebla Roja, Invasors vs Maya/Fantasma/Shocker.

GDL: Rayo & Universo, and what they can put together of Tuesday’s show.

TVC Deportes (Puebla): Parajes Incredible tournament. THIS WOULD BE A FINE WEEK TO AIR A REPEAT OF LAST WEEK’S SHOW. (Not subtle at all.)

Terra: long time announcer Rey Bucanero makes the transition to the wrestling ring. How will he do? Mascara Dorada vs Mephisto is probably good.

== Other ==

IWRG-AYM Sports: An IWRG IC Trios tournament.

IWRG-TVC Deportes: Cien Caras Jr. vs Psycho Clown

Noches de Coliseo: The Tuesday show with the CMLL guys wouldn’t normally air until next Sunday, so this is more the exciting return of Tun Tun (and Guerrero Negro Jr.)
