AAA-Televisa: Best of, Part 2

AAA-Fusion: Still in reruns

== CMLL ==

Galavision/Televisa: Best of, Part 2.

FOX: Probably the Cometa/Namajague trios, and the main event setting up the Invasors/Bufete match. The semifinal & Estrellita/Amapola feud isn’t going to make TV the way things are run (though delaying things a week like they did last Friday means the eventual title match will probably air on Televisa.) This appears to be airing the same time as AAA on Saturday.

52MX: Last Sunday’s show, which I don’t even remember. 52MX has changed around it’s schedule – this show now airs at 9AM and 8PM Central on Saturdays. Sunday and Monday airings stay the same.

C3: double hair match, Titan vs Polvora

GDL: Peste Negra vs Maximo/Marco/Panther

TVC Deportes (Puebla): Atlantis/Marco/Maximo vs Niebla/Negro/UG

En Busca de un Idolo: the final semifinal matches – Diamante & Titan and Euforia & Dragon Lee, with a special appearance by Fray Tormenta. (Maybe this is the second to last episode?)

Terra: Pequeno Reyes del Aire, Peste Negra vs Marco, Maximo, Pokry.

== Other ==

IWRG-TVC Deportes: still not on the air.

IWRG-AYM Sports: Angel, Golden Magic and TBA vs Oficial 911, X-Fly, and Super Nova

Noches de Coliseo: Rayo & Huracan Ramriez vs Cien Caras & Mascara Ano 2000, the big feud from 22 years ago. In the US, the Saturday Night/Early Sunday airing of this show is half hour soon than listed on the programming guide (12 midnight central.) It still seems to be on the regular time on the feed.

top six stories of the last two weeks

  • Emilio Charles Jr. passed away.
  1. Many lucha libre shows were held on Christmas and New Year’s Day. On 12/25, Negro Casas kept his NWA Welterweight Championship over Guerrero Maya Jr., and Polvora defeated Titan to keep the CMLL Welterweight Championship on 01/01 day. Also, Bobby Zavala & Disturbio defeated Leono & Tigre Blanco in a double hair match, with the young rudos cheating a bit to save their scalps.
  2. AAA held it’s only TV taping in a 6+ week stretch. Toscano, one of the founding members of El Consejo, seemed to quit the group after he cost the team another match. Drago & Psicosis started a feud, and Cibernetico and Perro Aguayo continued towards a singles match.
  3. Fuerza Guerrera & Black Terry continued to feud on IWRG shows, teasing a cage match with many of their lucha students.
  4. AAA & CMLL’s Televisa shows went into 3 long weeks of Best of material. The AAA Fusion show also went into reruns.
  5. In other year in review material, CMLL and AAA officials came together to discuss lucha libre in 2012, while luchadors from both companies debated who was to blame for low turnouts at shows in 2012
  6. Fuego & Stuka Jr. continued their 4.5 year long reign as Arena Coliseo Tag Team champions with a win over Cancerbero & Raziel.
  • Mini Stukita debuted in CMLL, while IWRG debuted a plethora of new minis for the holiday season.
  • Rayan kept his title in IWRG, while Factor won the IWRG Juniors championship.
  • video of Alushe beatboxing surfaced.

Azul vs Terrible in Puebla (but Aguila steals the attention)

CMLL (TUE) 01/01/2013 Arena Puebla [Porra Fresa]
1) Dinámikoo & Tigre Rojo Jr. b King Jaguar & Saurón
Tecnicos took 1/3.
2) Bengala, Black Tiger, Metálico b Akuma, Inquisidor, Siki Ozama Jr.
Akuma’s debut here. Tecnicos took 2/3
3) Guerrero Negro Jr., Hijo del Signo, Nitro b Magnus, Pegasso, Sensei
Sensei replaced Angel Azteca. Guerrero Negro Jr.’s debut. Rudos took 2/3. Nitro pinned Sensei.
4) Namajague b Starman [lightning]
Namajague won via frog splash. Emilio Charles Jr. was honored after the match.
5) Black Warrior, Puma, Sangre Azteca b Diamante, Rey Cometa, Sagrado
Rudos took 1/3, Puma beating Cometa.
6) Diamante Azul, Máscara Dorada, Super Porky b Mr. Águila, Terrible, Volador Jr.
Aguila wore TRT gear (probably Terrible’s extras) and appeared to be drunk. Tecnicos won a lighting quick first fall, then a longer second fall with Aguila being out of it and the fans booing him. Azul challenged Terrible for a title match.

This is the second time Aguila has shown up with no gear and in no condition to perform in a couple months (previously). These issues have gotten Aguila in trouble with CMLL in the past, but didn’t seem to last time – he was still on the trios team that won the national trios titles – so he’ll probably skate by again.
