01/21 AAA TV Lineup (Guanajuato)

AAA TV (SAT) 01/21/2012 Estadio José Aguilar, Maya de Guanajuato, Guanajuato
1) Billy el Malo & Escoria vs Mortiz & Semental
2) El Elegido & Fabi Apache vs Alan Stone & Sexy Star
3) Cuervo, Espíritu, Ozz vs Dark Dragon, Tigre Cota, Tito Santana
4) Cibernético, Extreme Tiger, Joe Lider vs Chessman, La Parka, Nicho el Millionario
5) El Mesías & Jack Evans vs el Hijo del Perro Aguayo & Héctor Garza

Lineup via R de Rudo.

Air date: 01/29 – maybe two weeks of Guerra de Titanes and one week of Chilpancingo?

I’m also assume they’re back on Sunday by this point; this is the off week before the Super Bowl and there should be no problem moving AAA back. Five matches also probably means the syndicated show is done and everything is airing in the main 2 hour slot, but we’ll see.

AAA tapings in January are done to fulfill the obligation of having television shows to air, not to actually advance towards Rey de Reyes. That remains true here, but also means some interesting matches slip thru. Opener is the newly tecnico Bizarros versus the newly returned CMLL Primera Wrecking Crew. Mortiz and Semental are obvious additions to the El Consejo group, but need some credibility if they’re not going to take the group down.

Alan Stone is back after being sidelined due to a poor fielding percentage. Not that he’s working with someone who’s going to be trying tricky dives.

Against all odds, Cuervo & Ozz may actually make it back to AAA TV while still AJPW champions. This is their first TV appearance in six months. They’re not the usual type of guys the Milicia faces.

Cibernetico and Parka continue to feud, just switching partners. And the Jack/Perro issue continues with Mesias stepping in for Drago/Fenix.

Trio Sensacion wins (painfully), Euforia/Stuka, the King, Cuije

CMLL (FRI) 01/06/2012 Arena Mexico [CMLL]
1) Camaleón & LeonoBobby Zavala & Disturbio
2) Arkángel de la Muerte, Nitro, Skándalo b Ángel Azteca Jr., Pegasso, Rey Cometa
3) Euforia, Misterioso Jr., Shigeo OkumuraStuka Jr., Titán, Triton
Rudos took 2/3. Titan & Triton lose again, though not directly their fault. Euforia snuck in a foul on Stuka and dropped him with the Euforica Special.
4) PólvoraSagrado [lightning]
Polvora won via anti-air dropkick in 9:14
5) Atlantis, Delta, Guerrero Maya Jr.Dragón Rojo Jr., Rey Escorpion, Último Guerrero
Tecnicos took 2/3, with an Atlantida on Dragon Rojo and a moonsault on Rey Escorpion.
6) Marco Corleone, Máximo, Rush DQ Felino, Mr. Niebla, Negro Casas
Niebla fouled Rush for the DQ. Trio Senscaion is still undefeated.

This should air next week on Galavision/Televisa when they resume normal shows.

Other News

The King, who also wrestled as Black Charly, passed away last month. He was another Laguna born wrestler who made it to the  UWA wrestler in the early 1990s

Alebrije/Kraneo says Cuije is still going to be with him, but you’ll have to be there Sunday to find out his new look & name.

Porra Fresa begins it’s look back at 2011 with the foreigners and the women. The foreigner who appeared most in Arena Puebla was Yoshihashi, and the woman was Luna Magica. That seems a bit mean.

DTU & IWL will run a combo show on 02/18. Press conference on Wednesday to announce foreign talent.

Lucha Libe in Japan

01/17 AJPW: Ozz (O), Cuervo, Black Bushi b Kenzo Suzuki, Kaz Hayashi, Hiroshi Yamato [X]

NJPW is hosting a fan club party with CMLL and NJPW wrestlersd when they’re in for the tour. Just the CMLL rudos – Mephisto, Volador, Okumura and Misterioso – so the tecnicos must be hanging out with other people.

Veneno returns to SMASH on their02/19 show, teaming with Kenzo Suzuki. They never teamed in Japan, but were on opposite sides of Mexico vs Japan matches when the Dragon Gate guys were coming into IWRG (and teasing Dragon Gate Mexico.)

Lineups

CMLL (FRI) 01/13/2012 Arena Mexico

1) Aereo & Pequeño Halcón vs Mercurio & Pequeño Universo 2000
2) Hombre Bala Jr. vs Disturbio [lightning]
3) Dalis la Caribeña, Dark Angel, Marcela vs Amapola, Princesa Blanca, Zeuxis
4) Stuka Jr., Titán, Triton vs Euforia, Misterioso Jr., Shigeo Okumura
5) Atlantis, Delta, Guerrero Maya Jr. vs Averno, Ephesto, Mephisto
6) La Máscara, La Sombra, Máscara Dorada vs Mr. Águila, Psicosis, Volador Jr.

Really strong lineup. This is the first time the Golden Generacion trios has teamed in Arena Mexico since they lost the titles, and versus a fun rudo team. Psicosis appears to be totally correct about not having to change his name.

Semimain matches the national champs versus the world champs in what should also be pretty good.

Special is a rematch from this past week, likely focusing more on Stuka & Euforia.

Even the women’s match is pretty strong. It and the champs versus champ match should air on Fox, while the other two would normally be Televisa/Galavision matches.

Lightning match is likely a followup to Hombre Bala’s win, but it’s also the biggest chance for Disturbio yet (outside of first round Gran Alternativa exists.)

Minis are just the low men on the totem pole. They have something in Mercurio. I don’t know what they do with it, but he should be a rudo of note in the next couple of years.
