Being a stepping stone for the next generation of wrestlers IS the way a legend should go.

One of the big problems of the younger wrestler generation in Mexico is that many of the 90´s stars like Santo Jr. keep working matches against their old buddies instead of pushing the next generation. Today, there is a generation of young main eventers who won nearly no big match against the big stars of the last generation. It's no wonder that they don't draw.

Blue Panther is a positive exception.

About your WON HOF issues, your list is good, i have a little issue with Blue Panther, i think he is great, but the way he is ending his career is not one of the ways how a legend should go, the way Blue Panther goes of late, he will end like Mogur or Americo Rocca, as stepping stones for the likes of Leono.

I have heard Dr. Alfonso Morales as a wrestling broadcaster since 1986 and he has not improved that much to be considerated as a Hall Of Famer, he is not near Gordon Solie, not even Michael Cole. Dr. Morales has gone as far to accept in a 1999 interview for Somos magazine, that he does not know holds or wrestling history, that he just goes and does his job and that after only training session, he has not put much effort in learning actual wrestling knowledge or facts (he has gone as far as saying that Lex Luger was a star in the 1930's!...just months after half assed trying to broacast NWA matches with Luger in Televisa in 1989!. Also, has said that the small package was a move invented by Luger, being that the reason of his nickname The Total Package). He is not even a good storyteller, sorry, but he is only "por Dios, Magadaaaannnnnn" or saying that ALL referees (even Guero Rangel as a face and straight) are rudo bias. The Doc has not got any good with age, he has gone worse, and oddly enough, as a boxing announcer, at a time he was really top notch and a future hall of famer, because is the sport he loves, but he has gone out of touch with modern boxing and every Saturday he is getting downhill, considering that Antonio Andere and Sonny Alarcon once his boxing partners, at a time before their retirements were pushing 90 and were amazingly sharp, entertaining and still got it, even at a recent baseball brodcast, Mago Septien (who is close to 96 and stir crazy) still can do nine innings and be good. But at least, it's not Maroñas, Tio Paco or Riaño were talking here. Question, is Rudo Rivera on the list?, that would be really an insult to the sport. But, also i think Doc Morales has no blame, mostly it's Televisa for not having good broadcasters and putting near fired sports or former entertainment reporters as their wrestling guys.

In think Vampiro was more of a popularity issue, but he was a drawing phenom, but that lasted only from 91 till 93, so i'm fine with it. About Perro Jr, he still has a lot to go, in that case, Hector Garza is more deserving of that spot, despite his bussiness techniques (next stop: DTU or IWL), he is one of the all time best mexican heavyweights, and also, he has enough years to be considered, Perro not yet.

Karloff Lagarde was a great star in the sixties, dominated his weight division and was able to be tag team partner of a world class talent, what happened with him, is that his peers like Guajardo and Mendoza still main evented during the seventies, even when their skills had eroded, while Lagarde went into the opening spots not at El Toreo, i am talking about Neza, Naucalpan and Pista Revolucion around 1976 or 1978 against guys like El Patriarca or Atila, so he did not have enough to sustain his spot as a star. He is respected in the lucha world, but mostly as a 60's star. Let me put a more modern example, Chessman is going to be remembered as a tough and reliable AAA star of the 00's, but not as a hall of famer, just as a top star in his prime.

LA Park i think has enough made to be considerated at least, but Dr. Wagner Jr. should be a more thinking process, because i think he has to have better feuds than that low point that is Mascara Año 2000 Jr.
