CMLL early week results, a problem of multiple Mini Psycho Clowns

CMLL

CMLL (MON) 09/26/2022 Arena Puebla [@TribunaDeportes]
1) Centella Roja, Hijo de Centella Roja, Meyer vs Espíritu Maligno, Fuerza Chicana, King Jaguar
2) La Jarochita & Lluvia DQ Olympia & Reyna Isis

Stigma tossed his mask to Magia Blanca for the DQ.
5) Místico DQ Atlantis Jr.
Mistico tossed his mask to Atlantis Jr. to draw the DQ.

Strange to do the same exact finish in the top two matches but I think that speaks to level of care given to these shows.

CMLL (TUE) 09/27/2022 Arena México [CMLL, Kaiser SportsThe Gladiatores (video)]
1) Bengala & Retro b Apocalipsis & Príncipe Odín Jr.

4) El Hijo del Villano III, Felino, Rey Bucanero b Dark Panther, El Audaz, Panterita del Ring CMLL: Hijo del Villano III, Rey Bucanero y El Felino vs Panterita del Ring, Dark Panther y El Audaz (posted by mluchatv)
rudos took 1/3
5) Ángel de Oro, Gran Guerrero, Último Guerrero DQ Star Jr., Stuka Jr., Volador Jr. CMLL: ¡Ángel de Oro es descalificado por faulear a Volador Jr! (posted by mluchatv)
Angel de Oro replaced Stuka on Tuesday. Tecnicos took 2/3, the last when Angel de Oro fouled Volador. He was DQed but counted his own pin anyway.

Volador/Angel de Oro might be an actual feud on a Tuesday show, a rare thing at this point.

I had issues with both this stream and the Guadalajara one. Both broadcasts had some weird audio issues going and that made everything fall apart when it stopped working. I was able to rescue Guadalajara and it went up on the drive this morning, this one I had to scrap and maybe it’ll go up later. I miss the stream just being up for everyone last week already.

CMLL (TUE) 09/27/2022 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara [thecubsfan]
1) Logan, Luminoso, Quka b Gran Kenut, Jabalí, Minotauro

6) Blue Panther, Fuerza Guerrera, Solar I DQ Atlantis, Black Warrior, Satánico
Fuerza fouled Atlantis. Solar challenged Satanico to a title match, Satanico refused.

The main event was said not to be good.

CMLL (SAT) 10/01/2022 Arena Coliseo
1) Micro Ángel, Micro Gemelo Diablo I, Micro Gemelo Diablo II vs Átomo, Chamuel, Periquito Sacaryas
2) Astral, Oro Jr., Valiente Jr. vs Dr. Karonte I, Dr. Karonte II, Enfermero Jr.
3) Flyer, Hombre Bala Jr., Robin vs Disturbio, Okumura, Raider
4) Guerrero Maya Jr., Pegasso, Stigma vs Cancerbero, Luciferno, Virus
5) Fugaz, Místico, Soberano Jr. vs Dragón Rojo Jr., Niebla Roja, Terrible

Dragon Rojo matched up with Fugaz & Soberano, could be a direction either way.

Lucha Memes has a show on 10/16 in Arena Coliseo Guadalajaara. It has Hechicero vs Jonathan Gresham, which could be great. It has Atlantis & Octagon challenging for local tag team titles, which is very weird. It’s a show where I thought it would be useful to have English commentary because it’s the right show to boost viewership, except even I don’t know some of the opening guys so it’d be a challenge. That doesn’t really matter because Lucha Memes says there’s no plans to air it live or on delay. I’m willing to pay but I’m also willing to throw my hands up and move on.

On that Memes show, Sexy Sol is replacing Dark Silueta in a singles match with Lluvia. Lucha Memes mentioned Silueta will undergo surgery soon and was advised to work only tag matches until then. I figure Silueta is working to the Gran Prix and then getting a knee worked on. Dark Silueta would normally be a favorite to win the women’s CMLL Universal starting next week, and less so if she can’t wrestle in the singles match at the end.

CMLL Informa has a lot of the Night of Champions challengers: Los Infenrales, Amapola, Dulce Gardenia, Rugido, Suicida and Pierrothito.

CMLL posted a recap of the last few days of Stephanei Vaquer & Dalys in Japan. Vaquer got to meet with the Chilean ambassador to Japan, which was something she had pushed for on social media after she and Dalys got to meet with the Mexico ambassador earlier in the trip. Vaquer lost a title match to Saori Anou in Ice Ribbon, Dalys retained the CMLL Japan Women’s championship over Tae Honma. Vaquer, Dalys, Honma, Mei Surgura and Hikari Shimizu all were part of a press conference on Wednesday to promote the CMLL Gran Prix. Dalys & Vaquer have a show on 10/02 and are headed back to Mexico after.

PubliMetro asked Lluvia about her OnlyFans account. She had taken some photos for a calendar she sold and later uploaded the photos to Instagram. Her followers told her she should be selling that sort of content on OnlyFans instead. She’d previously heard that as a recommendation during the pandemic and had talked to others who were having success with OnlyFans. Lluvia was still hesitant and she had to work up the courage to try it. She says it’s been complicated to set up but she’s happy with the results. One piece of advice she got is to leave the OnlyFans for free for now to build up a following and only then start doing paid content. She’s planning on “very sexy” photos without “vulagirty or nudity” and she sees it as an additional income, not something that’s going to take her away from wrestling.

AAA

A new TV taping:

AAA TV (SAT) 10/08/2022 Explanada Malltertainment, Puebla, Puebla
1) Octagoncito & Sussy Love vs Mini Psycho Clown & Reina Dorada
2) Emperador Azteca vs ToxinPuma King
3) Octagón Jr. vs Villano III Jr.Abismo Negro Jr.
4) Mr. Iguana & Niño Hamburguesa vs Carta Brava & Chessman
5) Murder Clown & Pagano vs Cuatrero & Forastero

This wasn’t a TV taping until Monday, when AAA just abruptly started listing as is one. There doesn’t seem to be an obvious need for more TV; I can’t figure out when this one will air:

  • 10/01 Hard Rock Part 2
  • 10/08 Guadalajara (Zapopan) Part 1?
  • 10/15 TripleMania
  • 10/22 TripleMania Part 2?
  • 10/29 Guadalajara Part 2?
  • 11/05 Puebla??

This Puebla show doesn’t look like a planned TV taping lineup given the level of matches involved. We know the matches will change because they always do, but it doesn’t feel special. It feels like AAA doing the building a favor by converting it into an unplanned TV taping to make it attractive for ticket buyers, but I’m not sure if that’s the case either. It’s hard to figure out the plan here.

Also hard to figure is AAA having a new Mini Psycho Clown. That’s him on the AAA show. The previous one, who was minis champion for a short time, is the guy teaming with a new Mini Psycho Circus on the indie. I’m not sure why this change was made or why he’s getting to use the gimmicks if he’s been replaced.

The latest edition of Jeff Jarrett’s podcast is another discussion about AAA. Co-host Conrad Thompson mentions he’s going to be at TripleMania and that he spent a few hours with Konnan in Mexico in recently. For his part, Jarrett makes it sound as if his WrestleCon appearance was something decided just minutes before the show. Jarrett also claims he’s booked somewhere else the day of TripleMania. It would be consistent for AAA to start an angle with a foreigner and then that foreigner ends up busy the day of TripleMania. I’m not sure I believe Jarrett on this one. In possibly related news, the podcast included a long story about a real fight Jarrett & Psycho Clown got into after a match, though Jarrett assured us they’re all good now.

AAA had a swing of shows this week through the state of Puebla, with stops in the city of Puebla, Tehuacan and Atlixco. (This again might be a reason why the Puebla Mall show was upgraded to a TV taping.) All seemed to be government-sponsored shows to some extent and so there are articles talking about what a success they were with no details on the matches. The Tehuacan show made news for something that happened prior to the matches: part of a bleacher collapsed beneath a vendor, leaving him and his potato chips falling to the floor below. There is some video of the aftermath; the vendor appears to be shaken up but not seriously hurt. This isn’t something AAA is responsible for, the local promoter and the local government would be the ones in charge of the venue for a show like that.

Big Lucha

No Big Lucha World tonight. Bandido is busy. Big Lucha did announce their next show for 10/16, the day after TripleMania, and then removed the announcement.

IWRG

No Thursday show this week, as previously announced. Those should be back this week. IWRG will have another episode of Retro on their YouTube channel, and their Wednesday night talk show will have the lineup.
