Villano III Jr. unmasks Aereo (with some help), IWRG apuesta match doesn’t happen, Templario/Volador tonight

IWRG (SUN) 03/01/2020 Arena Naucalpan [+LuchaTV, The Gladiatores]
1) Atomic Star & Legendario b Rey Halcón Jr. & Tromba Lucha libre IWRG (posted by Internetv Deportes)
2) Ayako Hamada, Lolita, Miss Delicious b Diosa Quetzal, Mary Caporal, Miku Lucha libre IWRG (posted by Internetv Deportes)

3) Eragón, Hijo del Alebrije, Puma de Oro b Oficial 911, Oficial AK47, Oficial Fierro Lucha libre IWRG (posted by Internetv Deportes)
Lunatik Extreme attacked Puma de Oro after the match.
4) Fresero Jr. b El Hijo del Medico Asesino © [IWRG JUNIORSLucha libre IWRG (posted by Internetv Deportes)
first defense (won in back in September). Bloody match. Medico Asesino had a shoulder injury. Gran Hamada was honored after the match.
5) Big Chico Che, Big Mike, Big Ovett b Capo del Norte, Demonio Infernal, X-Fly Lucha libre IWRG (posted by Internetv Deportes)
Capo del Sur was announced originally but replaced due to health by Toxin, then Demonio Infernal ended up in the match and the captians apuesta bit was postponed. Strippers won in a bloody match
6) Chicano, Estrella Divina, Tiago b Emperador Azteca, Fuerza Guerrera NG, Shun Skywalker Lucha libre IWRG (posted by Internetv Deportes)
Emperador Azteca replaced Puma King (listed by error) immediately after the card was announced. Estrella Divina defeated Skywalker.

Both Capo del Norte & X-Fly were pinned in the Big Strippers match and it’s not clear exactly who would’ve lost had they gone with the apuesta match. (It if was for sure going to be X-Fly, they could’ve still just had X-Fly lose.) Next show here is the return to Thursday night shows.

AAA (SUN) 03/01/2020 Gimnasio Municipal Josué Neri Santos, Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua [+LuchaTV]
1) Kempo & Sky Bird b Mini Fussion & Monaguillo
Octagon Jr. came out to praise the winning team.
2) Papi Chulo b Serpiente Blanca
3) Centinela, Lady Shany, Pimpinela Escarlata b Mamba, Silver Cat, Venus
Venus, who had been unmasked on a previous show, was the surprise luchadora. Centinela (replacing Astreisco Jr.) betrayed Pimpienla with a foul. Chessman appeared and offered Centinela the chance to team with the OGTs in Juarez.
4) Abismo Negro Jr. & Monsther Clown b Aerostar & Octagón Jr.
referee helped the rudos
5) Pagano DCOR Chessman [Copa Flama Roja]
Flama Roja was honored before the match. The match ended in a bloody countout but they gave the trophy to Pagano anyway (???)
6) Rey Escorpión & Texano Jr. b Magno & Psycho Clown
Magno was the surprise luchador (after Sin Cara had made a point earlier in the weekend of saying it wouldn’t be him.) Escorpion win via mask pull/foul on Psycho.
7) Villano III Jr. COR Aéreo [mask]
Three fall match, with Villano III Jr. taking 1/3. He won the last by countout, when Escorpion grabbed Aereo’s leg to stop him from making it back in the ring before the 20 count. Aereo is Carlos Antonio Puertas Puentes, from Ciudad Juárez, 12 years a wrestler, 29 years old.

+Lucha has the unmasked Aereo here. It sounds like the match started good and picked up in the end, with some messiness in the middle. People were not happy with Aereo being robbed by Escorpion’s interference. +Lucha was there doing live commentary, so maybe this will be a quicker release. Five straight screwy finishes to end a show is probably not the most ideal to run a show; the most confusing is why Pagano couldn’t just win his match.

This was a good weekend for shows drawing well. This Juarez show seems like a full house or close to it. DTU says they opened their new arena with a full house, joining Arena Queretaro and Arena Lopez Mateos full house. Paranoiko & Pesadilla won the DTU Nexo Tag Team Championships from Brazo Celestial & Brazo Cibernetico on that DTU show.

Templario has his first-ever singles match with Volador tonight in Arena Puebla. Volador’s NWA Welterweight Championship is on the line, but Templario is neither Matt Taven or La Sombra so he’s probably not going to win it. It’s Templario getting to face one of the top tecnicos in CMLL and seeing if he can get more out of them Volador’s shown in recent singles matches.

There are other feuds going on. Last week’s family tag team tournament ended with NGD fouling Gran Guerrero (not caught) and Ultimo Guerrero unmasking NGD (caught). They meet in a trios match tonight, which might be setting up the long-anticipated title match between the two teams. Okumura fouled Stigma last week and the face again in a relevos incredible match.

The show starts at 9 pm. It’s the last time for a month it will if you’re in the US, as Daylight Savings Time begins there this week.

Aerostar teased quitting AAA or turning rudo or something on Twitter. He seems like he hasn’t been happy the last few months; the big mask win over Monster Clown has lead to Monster Clown being on every TV and Aerostar being off until Rey de Reyes except for the Mexico City show. He also seems like a guy who’d never actually leave AAA.

Turboman took Black Side’s mask in Gomez Palacio. Black Side is Carlos Daniel Calderón Álvarez, 20 years old, from Laredo.

Rayo de Oro took Rayo de la Muerte’s mask in Arena Guatemala Mexico. Rayo de la Muerte is Edwar Illescas, who was previously wrestling as X-Panther.

CMLL (SAT) 03/07/2020 Arena Coliseo

This is probably not going to be the time Forastero wins the big match. HIjo del Villano III seems permanently moved up the semi-main level.

1) Chicanito vs Voltrex
2) Legendario & Shadow Boy vs Maradó & Neza Kid

6) Ayako Hamada, Lolita, Miss Delicious vs Diosa Quetzal, Hahastary, Mary Caporal

An all women’s match on Internacional Women’s Day. (CMLL’s contribute seems to be half price lady’s tickets, so far.) Some Monterrey people in; maybe they’re hanging around all week before the MexaWrestling show.
