Block B of Torneo Nacional Increibles de Parejas tonight, CMLL announces third parejas torneo to drive everyone mad

CMLL hold Block B of the annual Torneo Nacional Increible de Parejas tonight. The winning team, of the eight competing, faces Caristico & Forastero next Friday night.

Volador Jr. & Cavernario are overwhelming favorites. Templario & Soberano would be a full alternative if CMLL hadn’t already announced Templario would be in a different tournament next week. CMLL Informa announcing Templario & Hijo del Villano III as being in Block A of the national tag team tournament means it’ll be tough for him to be in the final of this incredible pairs tournament on the same night. Fuerza Guerrera & Blue Panther probably aren’t winning. Espiritu Negro probably isn’t going from second matches to the final of a tournament with Rey Cometa. The other four teams (Angel de Oro/Sanson, Atlantis Jr./Casas, Cuatrero/Valiente, and Gran Guerrero/Stuka) are all reasonable finalists if wants to mix it up. This doesn’t seem like a promotion much interested in mixing things up at the moment.

There’s four undercard matches this week, one more than last week. Either the show goes longer or the tournament gets cut down a bit. Probably the latter. No one has really been asking for Blue Panther Jr. versus Vangellys, but it is happening anyway. There’s a Caristico/Diamante/Titan vs Ephesto/Mephisto/Terrible match existing for the tecnicos to high their highspots, a women’s match (including Dalys but not challenger Sugehit) and an 2v2 opening match.

The show streams at 8:30 pm, and I’ll have a stream for US/Japan people who are blocked.

Lucha Central had a preview of the show.

There’s a benefit show for children battling cancer in Arena Coliseo Guadalajara. Arena Neza’s show includes the Psycho Circus teaming and a mixed tag title rematch. There’s also a FULL show advertised as being taped for Quebec TV.

A group of Mamba, Tiago, Chicano, and Estrella Divina debuted in IWRG as El Imperio. It turns out it’s actually meant to be an AAA group. Their YouTube page has a video from TV of Mamba introducing the concept and Tiago, who hasn’t been in AAA since 2016.

Parka Negra & Hijo del Vikingo did press for the Tonala taping yesterday. The venue change was explained as the new building being wider and offering a better view of the ring for the fans.

02/29 Lucha Strong has a six-way mask/hair cage match with Marcela, Metalica, Skadi, Casandra, India Sioux, and Lilith Dark. The CMLL women aren’t losing on an indie show; it’s probably Casandra, who’s been around the indies forever. It stuck out to me because it might be India Sioux, who has wrestled in bursts and then disappeared for years since leaving CMLL. She married into the Brazo family, she might have the Brazo family luck in apuesta matches.

03/13 AAA/MLW/EMW in Tijuana

Hammerstrong and Kenny Omega seem to have opposite wrestling philosophies, so it’s going to be quite a few days for the Laredo Kid. Mortiz doesn’t seem to wrestle once a month but a good person to call when you need someone to be spectacular in a hardcore match. Tito Santana’s name is spelled Sanatana on the poster, which might be a typo or might be a trademark issue. It’s tough to be sure.

LuchaWorld has the latest Lucha Report.

CMLL is place of a limited ideas, so here’s another tag team tournament. At least this one appears to be one night.

Drone & Rey Bucanero are cousins, though it never comes up. Same with Ephesto & Luciferno being brothers.

The second match feels like we’re being treated to another Stigma feud. There is some logic in making a local star, it’s just not the greatest pick for that role.

CMLL (TUE) 02/25/2020 Arena México
1) Angelito & Kaligua vs Pequeño Olímpico & Pequeño Violencia
2) Magia Blanca, Oro Jr., Sangre Imperial vs Disturbio, Hijo del Signo, Nitro

6) Euforia, Gran Guerrero, Último Guerrero vs Atlantis Jr., Stuka Jr., Valiente

Stuka & Hechicero aren’t back together, which confirms they were just doing their own thing. Cometa/TIger is usaully good.

CMLL (TUE) 02/25/2020 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara
1) Fantástico, Leono, Luminoso vs Cholo, Guerrero de la Muerte, Jabalí
2) Avispa Dorada, Silueta, Stephanie Vaquer vs La Infernal, La Seductora, Tiffany
3) Drone, El Rielero, Súper Astro Jr. vs Furia Roja, Pólvora, Vangellys
4) Esfinge, Fugaz, Titán vs Ephesto, Hechicero, Luciferno
5) Carístico, Diamante Azul, Volador Jr. vs Cuatrero, Forastero, Sansón

Probably another NGD singles match coming up.

  1. I love how Cometa and espiritu try so hard in the Parejas Increibles, and cmll reward them by leaving them out of a family tag tournament
