Capos attacked Fresero with Demonio Infernal making the save and those two setting up a team.

Both Canek & Rayo pinned Sagrada, then asked that the match continue. Rayo got a visual pin with the referee occupied before Canek won with an ugly heel kick.

Park family, Traumas and Demon’s hammer were all involved in the finish.

Park/Demon sounds like a good brawl, with Demon’s hammer getting involved. IWRG announced they raised 26,400 pesos (~$1,400 USD) for the Red Cross with the 11/20 show. They plan to run three more Red Cross benefit shows in 2020.

Forastero’s last few months:

  • 06-29: Volador Jr. beat Forastero in Arena Coliseo
  • 08-16: Volador Jr. beat Forastero in Arena Mexico
  • 10-08: Caristico beat Forastero in Arena Mexico
  • 10-27: Cavernario beat Forastero in Arena Mexico
  • 10-28: Mistico beat Forastero in Arena Puebla
  • 12-01: Carsitico beat Forastero in Arena Mexico

Forastero gets his third chance to beat Forastero. He also gets his seventh chance to have a memorable match. Forastero singles matches during this stretch have been fine and occasionally good, but he hasn’t shown the aggression of a top rudo and he’s not such a good base that tecnicos are pulling off special moves against him. CMLL could need more exciting people, Forastero hasn’t shown it. Tonight’s another a chance.

The semi-main has Atlantis, Stuka, and Volador against Cavernario, Hchicero and Negro Casas, which looks good on paper. Sagrado, Stigma, Templario versus Misterioso, Olimpico and Rey Cometa looks weird on paper. Sunday’s weird relevos increibles set up an unexpected title match, so maybe something will come out of this one. The second is a Dalys special. Astro & Rey Samuray put in time in the opener. The show streams at 9 pm.

+LuchaTV streamed DTU’s show last night.  Dragon Gate’s Shun Skywalker was a surprise international wrestler on the show. Dragon Gate had said Skywalker “requested time away from the ring.” I’m not sure if he’s going to be a regular in Mexico, but it appears the plan is for him to be in North America for an extended period.

Lucha Libre Vanguardia announced Jimmy will be back from Dragon Gate and on their 01/01 show. I haven’t seen him mentioned elsewhere as of yet.

Soberano vs Titan is up and getting very good reviews.

AAA posted the Sin Cara debut segment. I’m not at all the first person to point this out, but it’s amusing how AAA is fiercely protective of their own trademarks and not so concerned about respecting others. It does seem like AAA’s not really concerned about getting into issues on this name with the way it has been presented.

Emperador took Payacumba’s mask in Xalapa on Sunday. Emperador is Daniel Rivas.

Lineups

CMLL (TUE) 12/17/2019 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara
1) Explosivo, Fantástico, Reycko vs Joker, Sádico, Vaquero Jr.
2) Átomo, Gallito, Microman vs Chamuel, Guapito, Perico Zakarías

5) Carístico, Soberano Jr., Volador Jr. vs Cavernario, Forastero, Negro Casas
6) Último Guerrero vs Cuatrero

Ultimo Guerrero & Cuatrero met in an early round CMLL Universal tournament match but this is the first singles match between them. Semifinal looks fun.

CMLL (SAT) 12/21/2019 Arena Coliseo
1) Bengala & Sonic vs Príncipe Odín Jr. & Yago
2) Magnus, Retro, Sangre Imperial vs Disturbio, Hijo del Signo, Nitro
3) Oro Jr. vs Grako [lightning]

5) Flyer, Star Jr., Valiente vs Hijo del Villano III, Rey Bucanero, Templario
6) Diamante Azul, Titán, Volador Jr. vs Shocker, Terrible, Último Guerrero

This is definitely a CMLL show in 2020. They’re getting away from the apuesta rivalries after announcing the matches, which seems like the opposite of most promotions.

Final FILL show of the year. They’ve done the main event format previously: one member of the team starts the match, the other member comes in to replace him. This time, the luchadors escape from the match with a pinfall or submission. The other twists are the starters are maestros (911, Freelance, Toro, Terry, Warrior Jr. and Dragon Fly), the second group are their students (Ketzal, Neza Kid Jr., Torito negro, Puma de Oro, Gato Negro and Guerrero Olimpico), and the last student left loses their mask. Warrior Jr. & Dragon Fly are stretching the idea of Maestros past belief.
