Guerra de Titanes notes: Big Mami trimuphs, Sin Cara & Rey Horus arrive, new Ingobernables

AAA just finished Guerra de Titanes, a four-hour show which was better than moderately high expectations. Some notes on a very busy show.

People of note:

  • Sin Cara, using that name, made his return to AAA. Sin Cara used the WWE name, the mask, and the introduction graphic was reminiscent of his WWE logo. Sin Cara made the save for tecnicos including Pagano and called him his friend from Ciudad Juarez. Sin Cara said he’d return in 2020
  • Rey Horus debuted, replacing Angelico in the tag title match. He is expected to work AAA often in 2020 and his title match loss to Bandido was his farewell to that promotion.
  • Myzteziz Jr. made his return from Exatlon. His feud with Argenis resumed.
  • Willie Mack appeared as a replacement for Brian Cage.
  • LA Park made a surprise appearance as part of the main event angle.

Outcomes

  • Big Mami defeated Lady Maravilla in their hair versus hair match. Hamburguesa rejected Maravilla and helped Big Mami win. Maravilla got most of her hair cut in the ring and enough shaved that she either got the rest shaved backstage or she’s looking weird. Nino Hamburguesa brought in IWRG’s Strippers Big as part of the victory celebration.
  • the new AAA version of Los Ingobernables was unveiled as Rush, LA Park, Konnan, Killer Kross and (the non-present) La Bestia del Ring. Rey Escorpion filled in for Bestia but disappeared when it was time for that group. LA Park & Rush made a point of attacking Blue Demon and putting him on their enemies list. The announcers, at least in English, speculated about Demon & Wagner coming together due to common enemies.
  • Fenix & Penta kept the tag titles, pinning Suicide.

AAA announced next year’s tag line would be the “Nacemos Para Luchar” slogan used in the promo aired for last half-year. No next show was announced. It’s believed to be happening on January 18th.

I’ll have a recap of Guerra de Titanes later Sunday.
