What happened:
Ultimo Guerrero kept his title.
Euforia tossed his mask to Volador to draw the DQ, after the two hadn’t feuded much during the match.
Thoughts:
Ultimo Guerrero is leading CMLL by example, setting the bar with a lazy forgettable championship match. No one else here did much better, but it was hard to miss how little was actually done in the main event. Guerrero got his big moves and got the finish, with no real attempt to build more drama. The fans got Valiente & UG carefully falling out of the ring on a figure four spot and not a whole lot more.
Not sure if it is his call or CMLL direction, but the Hijo del V3 strategy is to be heavily rudo. He’s taking cheating shorts cuts and brawling his way through matches like an older wrestler. It doesn’t seem like a mix that gets the best out of him; Villano looked more interesting later in the match when he switches to a more move heavy focus similar to his brother. Outside of the dance move, he’s a vanilla rival for Dulce.
Centella Roja slipping on a springboard was a highlight. He had a rough night working with these tecnicos in general. Astro moves twice as fast as everyone else in the opener and is the most interesting part of it.
