Volador took 2/3.

The main event was said to be good, despite Volador and Euforia having a spot go wrong in the second fall that seemed to leave Volador hurting hte rest of the match. Can’t believe they’re doing another Forastero feud.

CMLL’s changed around Friday’s card. Ultimo Guerrero gets the call to replace Sanson, putting him opposite of Bandido. Bandido shouldn’t lose in week one, shouldn’t lose a single fall, but he especially shouldn’t lose to Ultimo Guerrero and I don’t know if they’ll resist it. Hechicero replaces Tiger. This was announced before Tiger wrestled in Puebla, so it wasn’t an injury deal.

Tonight’s Arena Mexico show has the first part of an not-really-promoted Copa Junior. I guess if CMLL doesn’t hype it, they don’t have to explain how Leono is a second-generation luchador. The group of wrestlers tonight are people who are never really given anything to do – perhaps Guerrero Maya Jr. is the most important wrestler – so it’s going to be the biggest win in a while for someone. Maya, Tiger and Blue Panther Jr. seem like the best chances, though it seems more likely the winner is coming out of the second block.

Caristico faces Euforia in the main event, where the outcome isn’t going to be surprising but perhaps the match will still be good. The Principe Diamante/Espiritu Negro feud continues on the second show; both guys are picking up a lot more bookings than usual to get this issue over. The semi-main has the Chavez & Dulce against Hijos del Infierno. The minis open the show. It’ll stream at 7:30 pm.

Negro Casas faces Volador Jr. tonight in Guadalajara. If Volador is hurting from last night, that might be pretty short.

CMLL announced a press conference for next Wednesday, December 11th. That should put dates to the three apuesta feuds (Felino/Oro, Kawato/Dulce, Diamante/Espiritu), hype the Copa Junior final, and talk about any other plans.

Hiromu Takahashi revealed he’d recently been training in CMLL.

Big Daddy (Yum Yum) hasn’t been seen in CMLL since the Aniversario show, but he’s still got something going with the promotion. He’s running a “lucha libre seminars” with Nitro this weekend on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday around Texas. For $50, 25 wrestlers each day get to train with Nitro. “The participant that shows the most potential” will get to train with Ultimo Dragoncito (“beginners class”), VIrus (“intermediate class”) and Ultimo Guerrero (“main roster class”) for two weeks in Mexico City. It’s not explicitly said, but the winners are responsible for getting themselves to Mexico and putting themselves up for while they’re there. Big Daddy announced this weeks ago, but it only got passed along on to Twitter yesterday, then I RT-ed it, and then it got blown up in the lucha bubble a bit. He’s been pushing it hard on Facebook, which suggests they’re not that close to filling out all 75 spots yet.

Wrestling seminars seem fine. Paid tryouts are not as much. This one may be totally on the up and up, but there is history with others where the “winners” are determined in advance. It is weird for CMLL to be having tryouts in Texas for people to train at their wrestling promotion, but this is probably not as much a CMLL thing as yet another strange side deal being made – like the wrestlers from France and Costa Rica and the Gemelo Pantera crew and perhaps more – where someone is trading access to CMLL for favors going the other way.

Dragon Bane defeated Hijo de Canis Lupus in their NOAH debut earlier today. It sounds like the match went pretty well. That NOAH show airs over the weekend (though the match wasn’t the semi-main like I had thought, so maybe a slightly lesser chance of it airing.)

LA Park says he and his son were canceled off the upcoming MLW show and might be done there. This comes off as a storyline thing – he’s referring to Salina de la Renta as the promoter and saying he hasn’t heard from here. The MLW story is she’s disappeared since Park accidentally put her through a table on their PPV.

Rey Horus makes his ROH debut on their 12/15 taping in Philadelphia, facing Flip Gordon. It seems like there’s a good chance of getting a lot of work with ROH right now if a wrestler does well in his first match, so this could be a more than just a random match for him.

+LuchaTV has a new edition of En+carados. There’s a discussion of Flamita & Bandido missing TripleMania Regia – they’re not sure if Flamita is going to be on Lucha Capital. He was still on the poster this morning. AAA, Multimedios and the owner of the baseball stadium were all happy with how TripleMania Regia went. Jose Manuel Guillen mentions being surprised by how popular Kenny Omega was with the Monterrey crowd; Roberto Figueroa mentions the same time.

LuchaWorld has the latest Lucha Report and this week’s Poster-Mania.

An interview with Ciudad Victoria’s Cristian Wolfe.

Chetumal will hold a Lucha Libre Expo on 12/15.

Lineups

CMLL (SAT) 12/07/2019 Arena Coliseo
1) Bengala & Leono vs Apocalipsis & Inquisidor
2) Magnus, Retro, Sonic vs Cholo, El Coyote, Grako
3) Estrellita, La Jarochita, Sanely vs La Infernal, La Seductora, Metálica
4) Fuego vs Kawato San [lightning]
5) Ángel de Oro, Guerrero Maya Jr., Stuka Jr. vs Gran Guerrero, Templario, Último Guerrero
6) Carístico, Niebla Roja, Valiente vs Cuatrero, Forastero, Mephisto

Mephisto looks like a sub for Sanson. Odd to see Ultimo Guerrero here working in a semi-main on a Saturday; it’s only happened one other time this year, and there was a singles match that week. Fuego vs Kawato would be interesting on a different show.
