I only saw the tag match, which was good though not exactly what I wanted. CMLL was still promoting Audaz & Templario on Twitter while the YouTube page for this show had the tag team match listed instead, so who knows with the timing there. There does seem to be a general practice where CMLL will try to use outsiders on all shows possible when they’re brought in, so this was more about creating a spot for Mecha Wolf than specifically switching away from the set singles match.

The rest of the show sounds good. Vacations are over in Mexico so the crowd was down anyway.

Tonight’s Arena Mexico has Angel de Oro, Niebla Roja, and Volador Jr. face Cavernario, Cuatrero and Terrible. It’s a good group of names but it is a Tuesday. The semi-main has Atlantis Jr., Atlantis, and Flyer against Ephesto, Lucifierno, and Mephisto. It’s switched from Atlantis being there to help Atlantis Jr. to Atlantis Jr. being there to carry the match for his papa. Guerrera Maya faces Polvora in a Second Time Ever Match; Polvora won in 2013. The Panthers remain low on the cards, facing Dark Magic, Misterioso, and Vangellys. There’s a segunda with Nitro and a minis opener. This isn’t the most important Tuesday show to see, for certain. It’ll air at 7:30 pm on CMLL’s YouTube.

Guadalajara has the Munoz family (Dragon Lee, Mistico, Rush) against Los Guerreros and Mecha Wolf. Mecha Wolf is in the video for Friday, so I wonder if he’s still going to be added or even just sticking around until Wednesday’s press conference.

That Aniversario press conference is at noon tomorrow, so no news update until later than usual. (What is usual lately?) Everyone has arrived as the same “cage match [sigh]” conclusion. It’d be nice to have a surprise. I’d hope the CMLL to ROH shows this weekend get a mention.

The post-match of Cain Velasquez’s match at TripleMania ended with Killer Kross teasing another match between them. That seemed as if it could happen in New York. It seems like it won’t happen. Fightful is reporting Impact is asking AAA not to use Killer Kross on the AAA in New York show. Kross and Impact are currently in an increasingly public contract dispute. This is spilling out of that. Impact is technically promotion this show – they have a New York state promoter’s license, AAA does not, this sort of thing happens in New York – so they have some more leverage than a simple request. I don’t think it truly matters if Killer Kross is on the card to most people, though I bet it would be a big disappointment for Kross. It may be a reason why there is no full card as of yet, though they could at least announce some other matches.

AAA’s other big international plans for the year were to be in Colombia. There’s been no talk about them from AAA in months but those shows appear to still be on. Shows are announced for 10/05 Soacha & 10/06 Tunja, with tickets going on sale last week. AAA was said to have drawn 8,000 for their debut in the country last year and the recent WWE shows there did well. These are smaller buildings, around 2,500 each according to what I can find on Google.

The art shows Super Fly, Drago, Maximo and Hijo del Vikingo, though it’s always hard to be sure if that’s definite. AAA has a TV taping on 10/05 (though that TV taping is believed to have been relocated), which would make it harder to send names to Colombia. They did only send 13 people last time so the amount may not be an issue and those smaller buildings may not demand a big lineup. AAA hasn’t acknowledged these shows are happening at all, which is more of a pressing concern.

Lucha Libre Vanguardia is teasing a Violento Jack match. Violento Jack hasn’t wrestled regularly in Mexico in a year and a half while being busy wrestling for FREEDOMS in Japan. (He might have had a match back in December, results never turned up.)

+LuchaTV has a new edition of their EN+carados podcast. A highlight is when they read a list of current NOAH stars to figure out who’s the big stars there who could come to IWRG. Even with NOAH wrestlers coming to AAA in the past, the recognition of NOAH in Mexico is generally limited to “that’s the place Ricky Marvin wrestled for a while”.

Jimmy missed the Lucha Libre Vanguardia/Dragon Gate Mexico show because Jimmy’s stint in Dragon Gate Japan got extended. +LuchaTV’s show mentions he’s there for a month, maybe a little bit more.

Speon unmasked Moske in Cuautla. Moske is Gerado Soto from Ayala, 40 years old, 18 years a wrestler.
