Caristico took 2/3.

The last two matches were both short, and so the whole show wasn’t much.

Last week was the CMLL singles match, so Arena Mexico returns to having all matches with no particular reason. NGD face Atlantis, Valiente, and Diamante Azul in the main event. Guerrero Maya Jr. versus Luciferno lightning match. Drone, Fuego and Rey Cometa versus Sagrado, Universo 2000 Jr. and Vangellys is the usual midcard match that might have a chance to be good, though less of a chance than usual. There’s a Niebla match, there’s a Dalys match, there’s a Leono match. It starts at 7:30 pm on CMLL’s YouTube.

Los Ingobernables face Angel de Oro, Caristico and Volador Jr. in the main event in Guadalajara. Lluvia will replace Princesa Sugehit in the women’s match.

NOAH & All Japan wrestler Atsushi Aoki passed away yesterday. He was a trivia note as a former AAA Tag Team champion, having won the titles Go Shiozaki from another NOAH team and losing the belts in his only appearance in Mexico on 2010’s TripleMania. This was part of the NOAH/AAA team up, which also included Aoki appearing on a co-branded AAA show in 2007.

AAA posted a Young Bucks versus Lucha Brothers teaser video. That Double or Nothing match was actually the first non-Mexico AAA Tag Title match since Aoki held the titles. Anyway, AAA keeping putting out these videos and airing them on TV is important if both these teams aren’t going to be around to build up the match.

Euforia, Soberano Jr., Tiger, Star Jr., and referee Edgar Noriega are headed to France based on Instagram photos. No idea what show this is for or when they’ll be back – I’d assume in time for Friday’s show since Euforia & Soberano are in Copa Dinasita but that’s a long trip to come back quick. This doesn’t appear to be for APC, who sent the French wrestlers recently in CMLL – Ultimo Guerrero & Nitro are headed there around July 1st for a seminar.

Atlantis, Atlantis Jr., Okumura, Veneno, Oriental, and Ludark are going to Spain on June 21st and 22nd. The Atlantis family had mentioned the trip on Informa previously.

The Box Y Lucha commission in Cuernavaca, Morelos required all referees to take a first aid class, in response to Silver King’s death. They’re also going to have a class for promoters and wrestlers on June 15th.

Notimex talks to Volador & Mephisto about Silver King’s death. They emphasize this death showing how dangerous lucha libre can be. Volador talks about having to get medical tests every year to stay licensed, and Mephisto sounds like he’d be in favor of heart exams every six months.

Box Y Lucha #3387 has Silver King & Perro Aguayo Jr.’s death as the big cover story.

Sin Caras & Pagano were among those honored in a new mural in Juarez, which Rocky Star, Tamba, and El Cobarde were also honored on Sunday.

The lucha libre licenses in San Luis Potosi were given out at no cost this year.

ROH on 06/28 in Baltimore (PPV) now officially has

Dr. Wagner & Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr. will appear on the 07/06 MLW show in Cicero, Illinois. That means they both will not appear in AAA’s return to Zapopan. I’m going to be watching the AAA show and not the MLW one so I am happy with this development.

RIOT’s La Riña En El Cerro de La Silla (08/23 & 08/24) participants:

  1. Douki
  2. Latigo
  3. Erik Ortiz
  4. Aramis
  5. Belial – new
  6. Madness – new

Lucha Memes/TWE/MexaWrestling on 06/30 in ???

This was a show at Arena Naucalpan. Memes has hinted as some issue without specifying what and the building name is noticeably missing from the second match poster. I’d guess Coliseo Coacalco is always the fall-back option.

LuchaWorld has this week’s Poster-Mania.

+LuchaTV posted this week’s video podcast at midnight, which seems a rough time to do a live show.
