6:33. Straight falls. Cavernario unmasked Mistico and pinned him to set up a singles match next week. Valiente replaced Volador.

Post-show promos: Mistico, Barbaro Cavernario, Los Guerreros, Mascara 2000, Negro Casas, the rudas and the tecnicas.

Media room interviews: Mistico (Box Y Lucha, +LuchaTV) , Cavernario (Box Y Lucha, +LuchaTV), Negro Casas (Box Y Lucha+LuchaTV), Mascara 2000 (+LuchaTV), Guerreros Laguneros (+LuchaTV).

Not much of a show. The two top matches were surprisingly cold and weak. The lightning math is the only thing worth going out of your way to see (but the Canadian Destroyer is bad.)

Dragon Rojo got thru his knee injury ok. No return time table.

AAA has two days of TV this weekend. Saturday’s show, at 8 pm CT, is from Tuxtla Guiterrez, is scheduled to have Wagner, Pagano & Psycho against Rey Escorpion, Texano, and Killer Kross. It’s probably going to change and most of the card is always likely to change with AAA, so maybe just some things to watch

  • Tessa Blanchard debuts with AAA on this show. She’s on every taping going forward.
  • Sammy Guevera should be back, but who knows who he’ll team with since La Mascara is still listed here. La Hiedra is on the card and might get moved up to base for Vikingo.
  • Flamita & Myzteziz Jr. vs Suicide & Daga sounds fun if it happens.
  • Astrolux (spelled Aztroluxe) is supposed to be on this taping but did show up at Crash show. I’m not clear if he’s still in AAA.

AAA’s back again on Twitch on Sunday in Villahermosa. This one will start around 6:30 CT. AAA has not run back to back days of tapings since the early 2000s. They’re doing it a bit coming up and we’ll get an early read how that is going to work out. Notes

  • This is the show with the La Mascara vs Pagano vs Chessman TLC match that obviously isn’t happening that way. A Tables, Ladders, and Chairs match is extra punishing to the body and it seems like a casual disregard of the luchadors bodies to have them doing it with no feud or build up. On the other hand, we probably shouldn’t assume AAA made this decision because it fits Pagano’s thinking.
  • There’s a mystery person teaming with Chik Tormenta who is probably Hijo del Tirantes, assuming AAA brought enough referees.
  • Blue Demon is on this show, to the excitement of all.

Dr. Wagner says SIlver King’s body arrives today and will be buried on Sunday. There’s no formal announcement of Wanger being off the AAA TV tapings but they’re both in southern Mexico and Wagner is going to be in northern Mexico. AAA should honor Silver King before the shows but I doubt Wagner will be part of it.

The AAA show in Zapoopan (Guadalajara) will have two ambulances on site, one paramedic assigned by the commission, a physician and at least one referee trained in first aid. Satanico believes all referees should have basic first aid training.

Milenio has an interview with Pimpinela Escarlata.

The Crash is running Tlaxcala on 07/13.

CMLL has never gone as hard with Mistico as it originally seemed they had planned. Most of his biggest matches have come in trios, he’s never had the big apuesta win, and he’s not had many Friday night solo main events. Like none. The only other full length 1v1 match I can find for this Mistico on a Friday is a title match with Averno in 2013. That was the semi-main. The Munoz family seem as if they get a lot of benefits working in CMLL but this is something the middle brother has not gotten before.

No Matt Taven here means he’ll be replaced on Tuesday’s Guadalajara card (and that lineup should have not had him on it.) My theory is CMLL was going to run Taven/Volador in some fashion on 05/24 instead and Mistico/Caristico was just the replacement match.

AAA TV (SUN) 06/09/2019 Arena Coliseo Monterrey
1) Big Mami & Niño Hamburguesa vs Lady Maravilla & Villano III Jr.
2) Faby Apache & Lady Shani vs Keyra & Tessa Blanchard

4) Laredo Kid © vs Hijo Del VikingoJack Evans [AAA CRUISER]

5) Aerostar, Drago, Puma King vs Daga, Killer Kross, Monsther Clown
6) Dr. Wagner Jr., Pagano, Psycho Clown vs Rey Escorpión, Taurus, Texano Jr.

AAA is happy to give you the same matches over and over again. When Hamburugesa & Lady Maravilla meet in the opener, it’ll be the 11th time they’ve been in the same TV match this year already. It’ll be the second time in three tapings that they’ve done the same match, assuming it doesn’t change again.

Hijo del VIkingo won a title shot back in Mexicali. Jack Evans won a four-way in Sonora that was originally for a title shot, then not mentioned as one with some card changes. Guess they’re still going with it anyway. It’s a rare AAA bit to actually go someplace so I’m not complaining.
