What happened:
Los Guerreros attempted to jump the técnicos but the Parks came thru the other way instead, which was telegraphed by the cameras. LA Park spends parts of the first fall looking for an object to use. He checks under the ring, he messes with a row of chairs, he’s not satisfied. Park and son end up leaving the building between falls and come back with a red triangle rack. I have no idea what is for. Park is intent on using it, but a guillotine spot with Gran Guerrero doesn’t work and using it as a blunt weapon is ineffective. The Guerreors make their comeback before Park can do any more and someone drags it away from ringside. A series of fouls and referee mishaps ends with Volador dropkicking Tirantes by mistake, intended to get Gran Guerrero. That sets those two up for a singles match next week.
Ingobernables jumped the técnicos in the semi-final. Terrible fouled Angel de Oro for the finish.
Super Astro has gotten a large wings tattoo on his back during his injury absence, perhaps hoping it will allow him to fly away from a future crash landing.
Thoughts:
The change in next week’s match wasn’t as big a bait and switch as it seemed just watching the end of this week’s match originally. Último Guerrero & LA Park’s chop battle was the high point of the match but LA Park was fighting pretty much anyone and it didn’t feel as much as a last second swerve. It was an obvious switch from last week and they didn’t much to set up Volador/Gran Guerrero prior to the finish still. The match itself was indie chaos LA Park strung around a three fall setup. It was a more exciting brawl than the one that preceded it even if was still all over the place. Like last week, there were teases about how good a LA Park/Ultimo Guerrero singles match could be, but who knows if we’ll ever see it.
The Ingobernables/Chavez matches work better as fast paced brawls. Or at least the last two ones have been perfectly tolerable. They did a lot of brawling, they’ve figured out the one thing Bestia can do well is a group powerbomb, and they moved onto the next match. Could be worse.
I have nothing to say about the ordinary tercera, I just want to note that the CMLL cameras caught Olimpico’s dive and not Audaz. To be fair, there’s probably not too many Olímpico dives to catch. And Audaz didn’t really get caught on his first dive by Sagrado so maybe they didn’t want to take the chance on the second.
