AAA notes and more coming tomorrow. Blame AAA for starting late again.

CMLL (SAT) 02/09/2019 Arena Coliseo [CMLL]

tecnicos took 1/3.
6) Atlantis, Atlantis Jr., Diamante Azul b Ephesto, Euforia, Mephisto

5) Austin Theory b FlamitaCavernario
Scheduled to be a Willie Mack title defense but he went to Ring of Honor instead. Short match. All three talked about coming back for the title match next month.
6) Bestia 666 b Damián 666 [cage]
Rebelion Amarilla got involved until security took them away. Damian win when Bestia missed a big senton. Traumas beat up Bestia until the Rebelion came back and made the save. They announced Sabu would be joining them on the next show.

Attendance was slightly down from last month. Fourth match might have been the best match in the building through the crowd brawling doesn’t always translate well to handhelds. Diamante Azul & Hechicero versus Jeff Cobb & Michael Elgin and the CMLL micros were also announced for next week’s show.

The Tessa thing is weird. Not that The Crash titles being vacated is anything interesting at this point, but The Crash’s story (according to Zona Ruda) is Tessa is now under an exclusive contract with AEW. AEW signing Tessa would make some sense but they haven’t really been pulling people from dates and it would seem like she’s still under Impact contract at the moment. Zona Ruda is only place that identifies the contract as with AEW, no one else mentioned that name. My hunch is what really is happening here is because Daga & Tessa are a couple and Daga is now working with EMW and not The Crash, Tessa is also no longer working with The Crash. I would suggest not believing anyone has signed based off this alone.

CMLL (SUN) 02/10/2019 Arena México [CMLL]
1) Mercurio & Pierrothito b Angelito & Último Dragóncito
rudos took 1/3.
2) Magnus, Pegasso, Súper Astro Jr. b Difunto, Disturbio, Hijo del Signo
straight falls
3) Marcela, Mystique, Princesa Sugehit b La Comandante, La Seductora, Tiffany
tecnicas took 1/3
4) Okumura b Fuego [lightning]
Fuego replaced Flyer (didn’t make it back from Tijuana?) Okumura won in 8:09.
5) Diamante Azul, Soberano Jr., Valiente DQ Hijo del Villano III, Rey Bucanero, Villano IV
tecnicos took 1/3, the last when the VIllanos fouled Azul & Valiente
6) Carístico, Místico, Volador Jr. b Cuatrero, Forastero, Sansón
tecnicos took 1/3

Okumura talked about his win. Villanos & Bucanero were unconcerned with their loss. CMLL talked about the main event tecnico team as the Dream Team, and Mistico said he’s happy teaming with or facing Caristico.

Fenix sent in a video to the AAA show saying he thought he’d be out a couple weeks with the neck muscle injury he suffered. More on AAA tomorrow.

This interview with the new AAA La Parkita mentions he’s a Pachuca luchador.

Hija del Zorra, a Guatemalan luchadora the last few years, was shot multiple times and died this weekend. She was interviewed a couple of years ago about the plight of women wrestlers in her country. The attacker and any other circumstances of her death are left unmentioned. This is the second person in lucha libre mentioned as dying via gunshots this week, following the AAA Aguascalientes promoter.

Tony Cisneros Jr. talks about his career and the building he runs in Oaxaca, Arena Pepe Cisneros.

Escaulo talks about his Costa Rican promotion.

MicroManFever recaps another one of Cibernetico’s celebrity feuds.

  1. Some FB pages (mostly regional) went ahead with the Tessa/AEW story, but as far as i read she is in the middle of a 2-year very important Impact contract and also is working WOW under a nice deal, even being featured as a TV personality . I go 100% with your theory….(that is why i trust you as one of the best sources ever for lucha)
