The main event was a heartless version of the usual match, which nonetheless was rewarded by money and praise in some of the recaps. This was a show to skip, something that’s already become normal on Monday and Tuesdays.
No sign of the Universal tournament.
Ovaciones interviews Audaz, who says he found out he made the FantasticaMania tour from his fellow wrestlers before CMLL called him. Audaz then called his father, who thought he was joking about going to Japan before congratulating him.
AAA is back on Twitch tonight from Xalapa on Twitch. The poster has an 8:30 pm, which means the start will be something after 9. It doesn’t look as promising for good matches as last week’s show, but last week’s show didn’t exactly work out as expected. It is a little concerning AAA promoted the show on Twitter using a poster with no lineup; matches are always subject to change.
The scheduled main event has Wagner, Pagano, and Psycho taking on Demon, Killer Kross and Rey Escorpion, continuing the lukewarm Demon/Wagner feud. The OGT/Poder del Norte feud resumes in the semi-main. It may be a virtual #1 contenders match for the trios titles. Aerostar & Monsther Clown’s recent issues will lead to a chain match, which seems a definite disadvantage to the flying tecnico.
The best match on the card has new trios champs Laredo Kid, Hijo del Vikingo and (probably) Myzteziz Jr. taking on Suicide, Jack Evans and Taurus. That should have some fireworks. Black Danger & Ultimo Maldito, back to those names for now, team with Lady Maravilla versus Dinastia, Lady Shani and Nino Hamburguesa. The opener is the most curious match of the night, AAA’s ignored minis division returning with Mini Psycho Clown and apparently five new wrestlers. The mini divisions in CMLL & AAA haven’t been great the last few years, but there’s not exactly a lot of traditional minis on the indies either to fill those spots. Perhaps some of the small indie wrestlers seen in AAA – an Astrolux, a Draztick Boy or a Belial – have been talked into taking on these identities to get a regular spot.
La Parka’s Record column talks about AAA’s annual visit with children from La Magia de un Deseo and the La Parkita viral video. La Parka won’t be in Xalapa to give anyone a new gimmick tonight, because he’s headlining a show in Hidalgo with the C-team. I suspect Monster Clown is replaced by Dave the Clown on that show.
An interview with Pachuca’s Hijo de Gasparin.
