Torneo Fill 75. IWRG (Black Terry) vs Lucha Memes (Chiquilin). Kaibuz replaced Dragón Negro. Alas de Acero took Chef Benito’s hair.

My understanding is Chef Benito wears a hat much of the time so I think he’ll be OK with no hair. This trainee show is followed by the LA Park vs Penta vs Rush show on Thursday night.

CMLL has a strange card tonight in Puebla. It’s not a good card. It is different. The main event is rudo/rudo battle, with the Guerreros taking on the Dinamitas, both CMLL trios champions in one match. It’s probably setting up a title match for 11/19 – which should be a bigger than usual show for holiday reasons – but it’s not clear which title would be on the line. It might not even be a trios title since last week’s finish involved Heavyweight champion Ultimo Guerrero and Sanson directly.

Fuerza Guerrera makes his first appearance in Arena Puebla on a regular CMLL show since 2005. (He wrestled on the MDA/Lucha Memes show there last year.) The match is sort of a legends match – Atlantis, Blue Panther, and Negro Casas facing Fuerza Guerrera, Mephisto, and Ephesto – but it’s not been given any extra attention of explanation. Fuerza has some history in Arena Puebla; as JCR brings up every time the title is defended, Guerrera became the first CMLL Welterweight Championship by beating El Khalifa here in 1992.

The tercera has Drone, Fuego, and Pantera Blanca facing on Mascara 2000, Tyson La Bestia and Universo 2000 Junior. That’s a bad mix. Lluvia, Marcela, and Skai face Dalys, La Comandante and Tiffany in a sort of rematch. That could set up another Marcela/Dalys title match for next week as well. The Gemelo Panteras appear again, teaming with Perverso against Arkalis, Asturiano, and Rey Samuray to open the show This seems one worth only skimming thru, or maybe joining in the main event to figure out what’s going on. The show starts at 9 pm on CMLL’s YouTube channel.

In recaps of Friday interviews: Forastero is ready for a title shot against Soberano and Ultimo Guerrero is willing to defend his title against Diamante Azul. Those two are set against each other this Friday too. I’m skeptical CMLL is doing two name singles matches on one show. Maybe it’s an 11/30 main event.

Niebla Roja is posting his hair match with Rey Bucanero is happening on Sunday, so I guess it will happen on Sunday.

Estrellas de Lucha Libre has a Leobardo Magadan piece on Brazo de Plata. He writes that Super Porky is currently living on the 7th floor of a building with no elevator, which is a bit of a problem for someone who now needs hip surgery. His hips dislodged and his knees are going backward (I don’t know what that means.) He doesn’t have the money to pay for all the medical treatment, but he is being flown to New York to appear at shows this weekend to sign autographs and sell masks.

Lineup

AAA , CAPITAL (WED) 11/14/2018 Pinche Gringo Barbecue, Miguel Hidalgo, Distrito Federal
1) Keyra vs Máscarita Sagrada
2) Taya vs Australian Suicide
3) Texano Jr. vs Niño Hamburguesa
4) Golden Magic vs Fénix

I need a countdown clock for the first Taya & Vampiro on-screen interaction in AAA. They really shouldn’t have wasted the worked shoot stuff with Kross last week when they had this awkward bit one coming up. The whole card is going to be weird: Taya & Suicide is an odd mix, hard-hitting Keyra against possibly old Mascarita Sagrada, Texano dealing with Hamburguesa’s silliness. Main event is not The Biggest Match of Golden Magic’s life but: everyone has great matches with Fenix, Golden Magic has not been all that great since showing up in AAA, and Golden Magic could really use a strong performance here.

It occurs to me that if Hijo del Fantasma is around again for this show, AAA might actually be able to build up the Fantasma/Fenix match they teased on Sunday. But – why was Fantasma around last week but isn’t actually in this tournament?

This is a really busy week for AAA: they’ve got this show, they’ve got taping in Juarez on Sunday, and they’ve got the Colombia debut in-between. (Whatever moment AAA tries to do with Taya & Vampiro will get the most attention, but how they do draw in Bogota is the biggest news going forward.) None of the people advertised for Colombia are working this show, so maybe the wrestlers and whoever is going from the front office will be traveling by this point.
