Caristico & Mistico bicker in Puebla, AAA small mobile game (if you buy some Mexico cookies), Pirata Morgan Jr.

Caristico has had enough of this

6) Euforia, Gran Guerrero, Último Guerrero b Carístico, Mistico, Rush LA MEJOR LUCHA LIBRE EN VIVO DESDE LA ARENA PUEBLA 22 DE OCTUBRE DE 2018 (posted by VideosOficialesCMLL)
Guerreros took 1/3. Caristico did not get along with his partners, giving up in the third fall. Mistico & Rush attacked him post-match.

The fourth match was said to be the best match of the show, though not something must see. The Mephisto/Diamante Azul feud seems swapped out for something with Mistico, Caristico and maybe Rush & Ultimo Guerrero

Arena Mexico tonight has Caristico, Stuka and Titan versus Euforia, Ultimo Guerrero and Cuatrero in the main event, which should be fine. Blue Panther Jr. and Universo 2000 Jr. had issues last week and meet this week in a lightning match. That match still appears on despite Blue Panther Jr.’s fall on Friday. Most of the matches don’t look good, but it is notable for Raziel’s first match since June. It was mentioned in passing on Friday night that Raziel has been out with an injury.

CMLL’s show starts at 7:30 pm, and it’ll be on CMLL’s YouTube channel.

Guadalajara has Cavernario, Rush & Terrible versus Atlantis, Diamante Azul and Valiente as their main event. There was no particular match set up last week.

AAA & cookie manufacture Gamesa held a press conference today to talk about their copromotional deal. The deal surrounds a phone game called “Rudos y Tecnicos”, which came out last month and appears to be only out in Mexico since that’s where the cookies are being sold. Tiny cards come in the cookie package that unlocks content in the game.

AAA will run a show on 11/24 in Gimnasio Juan de la Barrera as part of a promotion for the show. I haven’t watched the entire half-hour press conference, so I’m not yet sure if this is a TV taping or not.

The official version of the game, in Mexico only, are available on iTunes and Android.

You can find an Android APK of it here but I make no promises it’ll work or that you won’t get some crazy virus. It worked ok for me, but it’s probably not worth your effort to get it if you’re not in Mexico anyway. You need the spend a lot of time playing a warm-up game or the cards that come in the cookie package to advance at all. There’s only about a minute of gameplay to keep you entertained until then. I am trying to make it clear that you should not bother unless you’re in Mexico (and even though I don’t know if it’s worth the effort) but I know that message is probably not going to take. This is not a full fledged wrestling game or anything at all like that, but a small tie in product.

Unlockable AAA luchadors in the game are Averno, Aerostar, Texano Jr., Psycho Clown, Psycho Clown, Psicosis (II), La Parka, La Parka Negra, Pagano, Murder Clown, Monster Clown, Mascarita Sagrada, Lady Shani, Hijo del Fantasma, Hijo del Dr. Wagner, Faby Apache, Drago, Dinastia, Dave the Clown, Chessman, and Bengala. You unlock the characters by pulling the cards out of the cookie package, though the characters themselves just appear to be skins/costumes on the same model. I don’t think they play differently, though I could not get far enough to tell. The default character you’re stuck with until you get one is named “Bob Sombra”. I would’ve asked for a new name on that one.

The Gladiatores has a positive review of Sunday’s Lucha Memes shows. I think there’s video of the show out already. The promotion says the full show will eventually air on +Lucha’s channel. I’ve been looking around to see if there was a public explanation of what happened with Shu el Guerrero, but could not find one. I remembered Canek was booked for this show, but he’s actually been in Japan to wrestle and a comment on the Lucha Memes Facebook says he’s been rescheduled for another show. I totally forgot about the Mike Quackenbush/Chikara tease for Lucha Memes way back in April; that seems to have disappeared into the ether. Memes/PALL’s next show appears to be the 11/03 Arena Lopez Mateos show.

AAA announced Blue Demon will appear at Heroes Inmortales. Blue Demon filled it for Dr. Wagner Jr. at an AAA TV recently, so he was the most likely person to fill in for LA Park as the mystery wrestler on the show. There’s still a chance of that, but they didn’t specifically announce him for that semi-main match. Strangely, the poster being used by the local promoter has the Guerrera/Puma/Suicide team back in three-way trios despite the semi-main being changed. That version is incorrect.

An important alert/reminder: Daylight Savings Time starts in Mexico this Sunday, but not in the US for a week longer. Every stream coming from Mexico is an hour later for one complete week. This means Heroes Inmortales is listed as 6 pm CT on the poster but’s really more like 7:30 pm if you’re north of the border. (Every CMLL show next week, including the first Dia de Muertos show on 11/02, will also be an hour later than usual.) I’m going to remind people of this multiple times this next couple of weeks, and today seemed like a good day to start.

There’s a situation with Pirata Morgan Jr., in a video uploaded by Demus. The story is Pirata Morgan Jr., Demus, Super Comando, and others were part of the two show lucha libre tour in New York this past weekend. As they were getting ready to go to the airport on Sunday, Super Comando realized he was missing a significant amount of money. The other luchadors strongly suspected Morgan Jr. had stolen the money because of other things he’d done over that weekend, but Morgan Jr. insisted he did not have it. They searched Morgan Jr. and his clothes and did not find the money. Then, another wrestler suggested they check inside Morgan Jr.’s shoes, particularly under the soles, because he’d seen thieves hide items that way. What you see in the video is the wrestlers checking Morgan’s soles, and indeed finding Super Comando’s missing money. You can hear how angry the other wrestler are when they find out Morgan Jr. had stolen from them and lied. The video probably stops because it was going to turn physical, but that was prevented from happening. No charges were filed (or could be since they were all about to leave the country anyway), but there’s a good chance you won’t see Pirata Morgan Jr. around wrestling for a while.

MLW announced LA Park & Hijo de LA Park vs Pentagon Jr. & Rey Fenix for their 11/08 show in Cicero.

+LuchaTV has the newest edition of their podcast.

Lineups

AAA TV (SAT) 11/10/2018 Coliseo La Concordia, Orizaba, Veracruz
1) Arcángel Divino, Dinastía, Dragón Bane vs Aramis, Lanzelot, Toxin (Estado de México)
2) Aerostar, Niño Hamburguesa, Súper Fly vs Espectro, Kahoz, Taurus
3) Joe Lider & Pagano vs Cíclope (DTU) & Miedo Extremo
4) Mamba, Máximo, Pimpinela Escarlata vs La Máscara, Rey Escorpión, Texano Jr.
5) Angelikal, Hijo Del Vikingo, Laredo Kid vs Carta Brava, Mocho Cota Jr., Tito Santana
6) Dr. Wagner Jr., Drago, Psycho Clown vs Hijo del Fantasma, Jeff Jarrett, Kevin Kross

Jeff Jarrett is still around after Heroes Inmortales. Kevin Kross is too, though after some of what he said on the MMM show, it sure seems like he’s lost belief in anything he’s involved in with AAA going anywhere just as much as the rest of us.

Drago & Aerostar splitting up and Drago ending up in the main event and Aerostar in the second match is not what I would’ve bet on. It’d be really great if that semi-main was actually the semi-main, because it should be pretty good, but I’d expect it to get moved down when people below them are unhappy to be below them.

Espectro and Kahoz are Antonio Pena’s old gimmicks. Once every 5-10 years, AAA teases bringing them back with new people and then forgets the whole thing. We’re supposed to know these are Antonio Pena gimmicks but also have forgotten that Super Fly & Aerostar are rivals; it’s a very specific amount of knowledge AAA believes their fans have. 1/2/5 matches should be all good, match 3 will be a spectacle, but everything continues to run in place.

The schedule for the rest of the AAA year right now is

  • 10/28 Puebla
  • 11/10 Veracruz
  • 11/16 Bogota, Colombia (probably not taped but obviously a notable show)
  • 11/18 Ciudad Juarez
  • 12/08 Xalapa

Maybe one more taping after Xalapa? The usual December show for Chilpancingo has been announced, but the local promoter said it’s not a TV taping. They’ve obviously cut way back compared to the schedule from this summer and they don’t need any more material for TV.

3 thoughts to “Caristico & Mistico bicker in Puebla, AAA small mobile game (if you buy some Mexico cookies), Pirata Morgan Jr.”

  1. It seems like Caristico and Mistico have been feuding more in Puebla than Arena Mexico, so, is there a major show about to happen in Puebla, or is this like last year, when Volador Jr and Caristico were about to feud in Arena Mexico, then that was dropped?

  2. CMLL’s never done that in Puebla, so I don’t think so.

My hunch is CMLL leaves the feuds in Puebla to whoever’s running the show (Tirantes?) and that person is more interested in doing Caristico/Mistico feuds than the regular CMLL programming team.
