The cibernetico was alright. Nothing you need to go back and watch. Diamante Azul/Ultimo Guerrero sounds the same way. It’s a match we haven’t seen since 2012, though it’s happened at couple 2013 shows that didn’t turn up, and as a quarterfinal in last year’s Universal tournament. It also sets up a UG having two singles matches in five days, for no particular scheduling reason.

Ultimo Guerrero and Diamante Azul have promos talking about that final.

Rudos took 2/3.
5) Ángel de Oro, Michael Elgin, Niebla Roja b Cavernario, Felino, Negro Casas

Guadalajara will have it’s own Dia de Muertos show on 10/30. The Mexico City ones have not been announced yet. CMLL ran three last year, so perhaps they’ll be 10/30, 11/02, and 11/04. There’s also a MMA show in Guadalajara on 11/02.

Roberto Figueroa posted a photo of himself and other Multimedios people meeting with Paco & Sofia Alonso. Multimedios is a Monterrey TV network who aired lucha libre for many years, but quitely dropped Noches de Coliseo in 2016. Figueroa himself promotes and helps other promoters in Monterrey, some of which are now using CMLL talent. This is obviously a hint of some deal, but there are no details.

CMLL Informa will have Blue Panther to talk about his 40th Anniversary show next week. Three other people who are booked on the show will appear. These Anniversary shows have featured the same basic legends match on both shows so far.

Lucha Underground 4×17 “Spiders and Skeletons”:

  • Fenix & Mil Muertes vs Willie Mack & Dragon Azteca Jr.
  • Pentagon Dark vs Reklusa

The episode guide preview also says Taya and Ricky will both be on this week’s show. Neither has been seen since the wedding. This is teased as “Lucha Underground’s Darkest Hour“, playing up violence in this week’s episode.

The SO CATCH by Hal YouTube channel posted an interview with Angelico a few days ago. The channel is normally in French, but this interview is in English with French captions. It’s worth going to watch the video. There’s two relevant parts for this blog.

Angelico’s asked early on why he’s not on Season 4 of Lucha Underground. Angelico said he can’t go into details, but “I felt the company was treating me unfairly, they wouldn’t compromise on an issue we had, and I felt the only solution was to leave the company.” Angelico’s asked if he could be back for Season 5 and gives the standard “never say never” response.

Angelico explains leaving Mexico as feeling too comfortable. He was wrestling the same guys so many times that he learned everything there was to learn from those people. They brought him up to their level, but that also meant there was no one else to learn from. He also didn’t agree with (unspecified) little things going on in the company. Angelico felt these were all signs that it was time to take a break from Mexico. He’s happy with having made the change to Europe, but – just like with Lucha Underground – Angelico leaves open the possibility he might go back to Mexico someday.

The red carpet premiere for Ni Tu, Ni Yo was last night. AAA has photosESPN has an article, mentioning one of the lead actors found out how real lucha libre was when he broke his hand after Psycho Clown fell on him.

AJPW officially announced the wrestlers participating in it’s November Lucha Fiesta tour: Super Crazy, Diamante, Sam Adonis, Ultimo Panda, and Super Ciudadano. Super Ciudadano is also Sangre Imperial, so he may vanish from CMLL for a week or so. Ultimo Panda must’ve made a great impression on the DragonMania show.

On Twitter, a fan joked about MLW’s Salina de la Renta going to The Crash got a strong reply from LA Park. Park says he’s not going to The Crash because “he” does not pay first, lies a lot, and doesn’t answer his cell phone. I presume Nacho, the owner of The Crash, is the “he” here. Park has not worked The Crash since an April show.

AAA will start on France’s Game One channel tomorrow night at 8:40pm. They’ll air every Thursday, with repeats on Saturdays. This was announced weeks ago. I didn’t notice it until a couple of days ago. That press release lists AAA as being founded in 2012, which is just a bit off. The footage they’re showing in the promos looks a couple years old. Who knows what they’ll be airing.

Lineups

CMLL (MON) 10/15/2018 Arena Puebla
1) Arkalis, Rey Samuray, Tigre Rojo Jr. vs King Jaguar, King Rocker Jr., Toro Bill Jr.
2) Lluvia, Marcela, Sanely vs Amapola, Dalys, Tiffany
3) El Audaz, Stigma, Tritón vs Kawato San, Okumura, Templario
4) Ángel de Oro, Diamante Azul, Niebla Roja vs Ephesto, Luciferno, Mephisto
5) Carístico, David Finlay, Mistico vs Euforia, Gran Guerrero, Último Guerrero

Finlay is on the 11/03 NJPW card, which means he’s probably finished in Mexico by the 10/30 show. That still gives CMLL about three weeks to set up a match for him. There’s no sign of one yet.
