CMLL officially confirmed the Gran Prix this Friday will be on iPPV via internet.tv. As with the Aniversario show, it’ll be $10 USD or 100 Mexican Pesos, which are two very different numbers. It will also be $10 via ROH’s HonorClub. If you subscribed to HonorClub to watch the Aniversario show, you should still be under your month’s subscription for this show.

Lucha Underground 4×17 is “the Moth and the Butterfly”

Killshot and Son of Havoc haven’t appeared in four weeks. Their break up was six episodes ago. Lucha Underground’s budget being slashed has hurt them in developing characters obviously, but it’s also hurt them in keeping feuds hot. With more money, or maybe more time, maybe there’s a 30-second vignette with Killshot or Havoc reminding us of their feud, and making sure it just doesn’t go unmentioned for a month. That seems to be about as common a problem as characters showing up and never being mentioned again this season (are we going to see Dezmond X or Sammy Guevera again?)
This article on upcoming film with AAA involvement Ni tu, ni yo explains the plot: “El Conejo” helped his brother “Halcon Negro” become a wrestler, Halcon Negro is very successful while Conejo fades away due to addiction, Conejo resurfaces to cost Halcon Negro a match by a mistake, and then they’re forced to team up. It’s a comedy, though I guess it could read different ways. The stars are also the writers of the movie, and they say they wanted to make a lucha libre movie because there hasn’t been once since Nacho Libre and that was American. The movie comes out next week, October 12th.
Psycho Clown is also interviewed about the movie; he was only on set for one day and he played a rudo. He liked doing it.
That will not be the only lucha libre movie this month. An El Santo/El Hijo del Santo documentary “El Hombre Detrás de la Máscara”, is scheduled to have a limited release starting on October 18th. There’s a trailer here.
AAW announced Rey Fenix vs Sammy Guevera and LA Park vs MJF for their 10/26 show.
Masada, the member of the Rebelion Rojo you’ve long forgotten, is listed on the 10/27 EMW show. Which means he’s probably not working for the Crash any longer.
