Cuatrero took 2/3, the last when a crucifix powerbomb. 2nd defense, 3rd straight title match between these two.

I saw part of the main event, and it seemed about the level of the previous ones. Cuatrero bragged about the win after.

The second half of the Dinamita/Angel championship matches happens tonight. Niebla Roja & Sanson meet for Roja’s CMLL Light Heavyweight championship in Arena Mexico. This is a first time singles match, unlike their brothers. It is also more likely to be a championship change. Niebla Roja won the title after La Mascara was fired from CMLL, and seemed to be champion mostly to give him some extra attention leading into his mask match. He hasn’t defended it since FantasticaMania. Sanson winning this belt, along with the national trios title he holds, would bring the number of CMLL current champions to ideal Universal tournament number of 16. (That includes Marco and Electrico being involved, neither of which seems like a sure thing.) A title change is still not likely, but it shouldn’t be a surprise.

The other people involved in this feud – Angel de Oro, Cuatrero, and Forastero – are part of the main event. Atlantis, Soberano, and Rey Bucanero round out the match. The Panthers face Ephesto, Luciferno, and Templario in the fourth match. Tiger has his first CMLL match without Puma around, teaming with Disturbio and Universo against Audaz, Fugaz, and Pegasso. Two more matches round out the card.

Lucha Central has a preview of the show. It’ll stream on CMLL’s YouTube at 7:30pm.

Guadalajara has Mistico versus Ultimo Guerrero tonight.

Puma King has a video up talking about his decision to leave CMLL. He was also on +LuchaTV’s podcast talking about his reasoning. He clarified that CMLL owns the “Puma” name, and he owns the “Puma King” version.

AAA currently has a press conference on-going for the ELITE/AAA show this Saturday. They brought out five AAA & five ELITE luchadors for a photo, but it was interrupted by La Parka riding in on his motorcycle. Parka yelled at Mr. Electro (shock) and Lady Maravilla, saying they had said bad things about AAA when they left but now they were daring to come back.

Parka was not on the ELITE versus AAA lineup. Dr. Wagner Jr. was on that show. Wanger has since said he was done with all his AAA dates. Wagner specifically brought up the 07/29 AAA taping in Ecatepec, where he’s booked in MDA. That left everyone thinking that he was still working this show on Saturday night. Parka challenging Electroshock makes a lot more sense if Wagner is off that one too and Parka is replacing him. La Parka being in the same match as LA Park is more interesting than anything with Electroshock, but Park was in Nuevo Laredo last night and not back in Mexico City for a morning press conference.

AroLucha is closing it’s funding tonight. Today would then seem to be a good day for AroLucha to announce something to get people excited. Right now, they have no new next show announced and they’re marketing around Rey Mysterio, soon believed to be going back to WWE. Or maybe not – their biggest increase in funding seemed to happen when they were running a lot of Google ads, so maybe just awareness is the obstacle.

The Crash added Soberano Jr. to their 08/03 show. A ticket outlet also put out a poster with Trent Seven & Tyler Bate vs Chris Brookes & Kid Lykos for that show. They say the card will be out next week.

Lacey Lane made it to NXT today.

KAOZ announced their next show will be on 08/05 in Arena Coliseo Monterrey with Mary Apache vs Hana Kimura vs Natsumi (Mary Apache’s daughter, making her Mexico debut.)

Lucha Memes & Lucha Libre Boom are running their next combined show on 08/19, which suggest they’re avoiding the overloaded 08/04 weekend.

LuchaWorld has the latest Poster-Mania.

Felinito is having health problems.

7) Rey Cometa & Volador Jr. vs Jay Briscoe & Mark Briscoe

Full card for this show, with just the two ROH matches. 3/4 are the new matches. Musashi is a Michonoku Pro wrestler (under a different name I’m blanking on) who’s been wrestling on the indies the last few months. There’s a chance he could pop up in CMLL if they run the Gran Prix.

  1. I’m interested in the top 3 matches of the CMLL/Pura Raza show. How likely is this to be taped for airing? Should I look for fan-cam footage?

  2. PuraRaza’s first show was taped, but the only thing thing the footage was used for some short clips on Facebook. I would guess fan-cam footage from the crowd will be the best bet.
