What happened:

things go well for Astral

Rush & Bestia ignore Kraneo early on, not letting him participate in beatings. Kraneo finally works his way in by slamming Carístico in the second fall. Kraneo refuses to pass the invisible ball back to Rush, and La Besita dropkicks him for it. That turns the match for the tecnicos. Rush & Bestia accidentally hit Kraneo in the third fall, Kraneo throw Bestia back in the ring at one point, and Rush attacked Kraneo on the outside. Kraneo splashed Los Ingobernables in the third fall to get them pinned, and then cut off Terrible with a belly bump when he tried running in.

Sam Adonis fouled Negro Casas for the DQ. This was meant to set up a singles match the following week, but it was changed to Soberano/Casas instead.

Eléctrico & Astral changed their team finish so one does a springboard splash, then the other, to prevent any more accidental head injuries when they both at the same time.

Thoughts:

not a delayed sell, Stuka felt that tope and decided to leave wrestling

It’s probably better just to pretend the previous week’s main event was Kraneo’s turn instead of this one, because the crowd treated this one like it didn’t much matter. The third fall felt anticlimactic, with the match essentially over as soon as Rush dropkicked Kraneo. They crowd didn’t react as much to it. If I had watched this show live, I have been concerned the turn wasn’t going to get over. It did better the following week, so maybe chalk it up to a crowd that wasn’t into Los Ingobernables enough to care about this match.

There’s been plenty of variations of the semimian match before and they don’t exactly break a lot of new ground. They are incredibly fast and effective with what they do. The técnicos all getting lots of moments to shine, and the Guerreros pulled out a lot of unique moments only they seem to do. Titan seemed to get the most of this match from the técnicos, and Euforia had another strong outing. This was borderline great match, and worth going back to see if you missed this show.

heck of an impact

The lightning match was a quick but entertaining match, working off the idea that Stuka and Valiente are similar in size and style. The outcome definitely said Valiente was better than Stuka, who got destroyed by topes and never came close to winning. They did enough to get over the idea of them being similar before it, and Valiente looked impressive on the way to winning.

The rudos/Peste Negra match was less Sam Adonis & Negro Casas feuding than I was expecting, given they were supposed to have a singles match the next week. They faced off all match, but it never got as hot as it was in the past. Felino & Kawato didn’t work together well at points, and the match never developed into a lot.

Los Guerreros

The second match was the usual level for the midlevel guys. Timing was good on moves, action was fine, but it also felt like they were just having a normal second match. I don’t understand why, but the shoulder tape makes Misterioso look even fatter. Or maybe his gut was just bigger than usual today. Fuego remains very popular.

Give Raziel, Cancerbero, Astral and Eléctrico enough tries and they’ll eventually produce a good match. The muscle minis are still wrestling robots, going thru spots with no indication there is a crowd present, but they hit all those spots this time. Raziel & Cancerbero were professionals and winners this time around, keeping the match together and getting to long strong in the end for it. This was a lot more watchable than the past attempts, though also probably as good as it gets unless they add another dimension to the match. Any wrestling move that involves one person tossing their victim to another person is a good wrestling move.
