CMLL weekend roundup, Ciber & Sharly win in ELITE return

CMLL (SAT) 02/10/2018 Arena Coliseo [+LuchaTV]
1) Cholo & Inquisidor b Bengala & Sensei
rudos took 1/3.
2) El Coyote, Grako, Príncipe Odín Jr. b Flyer, Príncipe Diamante, Sangre Imperial
rudos took 1/3
3) Oro Jr. b Magnus [lightning]
Magnus replaced Electrico.
4) Astral, Fuego, Pegasso b Nitro, Raziel, Universo 2000 Jr.
Astral replaced Starman. Tecnicos took 2/3.
5) Guerrero Maya Jr., Titán, Valiente DQ Kawato San, Pólvora, Rey Bucanero
Tecnicos took 1/3. Bucanero fouled Valiente for the DQ.
6) Atlantis, Niebla Roja, Soberano Jr. b Ephesto, Kráneo, Máscara Año 2000
tecnicos took 2/3.

The recap mentions Kraneo and the rudos had problems in the main event, which I assume is the usual rudo bumbling but I guess might be more.

No show here next week, as there’s a boxing event instead.

CMLL ELITE (SUN) 02/11/2018 Arena México [+LuchaTV, CMLL]
1) Pequeño Nitro & Pierrothito b Shaolin & Stukita
2) Dalys & Zeuxis b Diosa Quetzal & Marcela
Quetzal’s Arena Mexico debut.
3) Audaz & Magia Blanca b Ciclón Ramírez & Relámpago and Cancerbero & Raziel and Metaleón & Mr. Leo
3) Emperador Azteca, Fly Warrior, Guerrero Maya Jr. b Heddi Karaoui, Imposible, Tyson La Bestia
5) Diamante Azul & Hijo De Dos Caras b Blue Panther Jr. & The Panther
first three falls match of the night. Azul & Caras took 2/3.
6) Ángel de Oro, Golden Magic, Mistico b Euforia, Hechicero, Mephisto
tecnicos took 2/3.
7) Cibernético & Sharly Rockstar b Gran Guerrero & Último Guerrero
Ciber & Sharly took 1/3, the last when Charly was eliminated and snuck back in to foul UG.

Ciber & Sharly need to win on the first show, but there was no guarantee of that. I’m not sure if I’m still supposed to be calling them the Radicalz.

I can’t find any great bit picture of the arena to judge attendance. It does look to be bigger in the small pictures I can find. This show, in some form, will air on TV next Sunday.

Tyson la Bestia’s gear has “STFAM” on it. I have no idea what that means, except Marcela’s gear has also recently had that abbreviation on it and maybe that’s a clue about the identity of the big bodybuilder guy who’s always sitting next to Marcela at CMLL shows.

CMLL (SUN) 02/11/2018 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara [CMLL]
1) El Jabali b Amperaje
2) Frentico & Paymon b Mr. Ángel & Último Ángel
3) Thunder Boy b Tigre Blanco © [SINALOA WELTER]
Thunder Boy took 1/3. Tigre Blanco falls on his second defense.
4) Gran Kenut & León Blanco © b Black Sugar & Neutrón [SINALOA TAG]
This appears to be the old Pacific Coast (PC) tag titles being given a state name. Kenut & Blanco retained by taking falls 1/3.
5) Explosivo b Vaquero Jr.MetatrónMagnumMágicoJokerRáfagaFuria RojaDifuntoFrezzer [Copa Guadalajara]
The 476th Anniversary of the founding of the city is on the 14th. Freezer (Metatron), Vaquero (Rafaga), Metatron (Furia Roja), Magico (Joker), Vaquero & Joker out at the same time when they fouled each other and Difunto & Magnum pinned them, Magum (Furia Roja), Furia Roja (Explosivo), Difunto (Explosivo) leaving Expolisvo the winner.

Good for Arena Coliseo Guadajara not to just to have their own random title belts, but also another state’s title belts to be defended once every six months.

Atlantis says Ultimo Guerrero’s hair is not equal to his mask. He won’t be doing the match. He still wants masks, and said the six months out felt like 80 years.

Facebook page (not AAA) Zona Ruda passed along a rumor that the Parka Negra we saw added to Perros del Mal on Friday was not Ultmo Gladiador, as has been for the last few years, but instead Angel Mortal Jr. I haven’t gone back to watch the match yet, but people who have said it looked like Parka Negra was not Gladiador. Angel Mortal Jr. was scheduled for the show and bumped off when the last two matches were changed, so it’s possible he would’ve still been at the arena.

I’m not sure why AAA would go thru such effort to keep a dead character like Parka Negra going. My only theory is they thought “Parka Negra” would be a bigger fill in name for Mr. Aguila than a rookie. If this is a permanent change, it would’ve been recently – it was still Gladiador in the gimmick last December. It also seems like a poor idea to make a permanent change, since the Parka Negra character has been cast as a loser and a non-factor for years. On the other hand, AAA still has a Gronda and had an Alerbije to protect their rights to those characters.

“Grand Lucha”, a new promotion in Tijuana, is advertising LA Park vs Dr. Wagner Jr. vs ? as the main event in the Auditorio on 03/02. Am I losing my mind or does that look like the same font as the AAA posters? I’m sure it means nothing.

Another new group called Pura Raza Producciones is running Arena Lopez Mateos on 03/03 with NGD vs  Mistico, Rush and Dragon Lee.

Sam Adonis’ upcoming dates including April 7th & 8th in Los Angeles. Those are the dates Tinieblas gave as the next Heroes of Lucha Libre, so I think they’re running a live wrestling event against WrestleMania on the 8th as the second night of back to back tapings. Vaya con dios.

EMW says AAA will be taping in Tijuana on 04/20. That’s a Friday night.
