What happened:

pobre Yago

This is the final show before FantasticaMania for many of the people on this show, with them heading to the airport after this show. The average match quality is down from usual as a result, with luchadors trying to primarily stay in one piece before getting on a plane a few hours later. Euforia and Carístico aren’t going anywhere, so they feud in the main event to set up a singles match next week.

Drone’s match turns out to be his last Arena Mexico match for time being. He’s currently suspended for an indefinite amount of time following wrestling in no condition to perform in Japan.

Thoughts:

this doesn’t work

Assuming everything progress on like we’d expect, there’s going to be a lot of NGD vs Dragon Lee/Soberano matches in the future, and this was a little preview of that. Little because it didn’t even crack ten minutes, yet the young guys showed promising chemistry. Rush seemed to even be into the match at times. It makes me think Rush’s ideal promotion might have been Leyendas Inmortales, where he could’ve just brawled with old men in main events constantly. The Mr. Jack match would’ve been something.

The Axis of Evil have some rougher moments with some of the tecnico spots, but get enough of that matches like the fourth match can hold together. Johnny Idol has found his calling as guy who losses in poses to Niebla Roja. He’s an easily dislikable dork on many occasions in that match. The técnicos are smooth like always, but there’s not a lot going on.

The opener very much felt like a rookie match, though in a way that’s or interesting than most of the openers. Retro is awkward as ever, but at least seems to have a decent amount of offense now. Yago is hero or a fool for taking Retro’s cutter. Akuma and Magia Blanca seem to have some chemistry, showing some emotion against each other. Both of Magia Blanca’s finishes looked poor though.
