This was a themed show featuring new wrestlers getting a shot. None of them won, though it sounds like some of them did well. Attendance was down, as you’d expect compared to the other Memes show, but does not look terrible.

Hijo del Alebrije replaced Hijo del Diablo. Aramis beat Pantera I to win, then challenged for another title match.

Aramis challenged Pantera I for the lightweight title match back in September, which was good but felt like they had a better match in them. Hope it’s coming soon.

Puebla is back on CMLL’s stream tonight. They’ve been off the last two weeks due to the Arena Mexico holidays, but will return airing on it’s usual 9pm start on CMLL’s YouTube channel.

The show itself looks usual with no obvious standout matches. The main event is Marco, Bucanero and Terrible vs Diamante Azul, Gran Guerrero and Pierroth, in a rematch from last week. There weren’t any results the last couple weeks, so we don’t quite know where this is going, but a Marco/Azul title match next week seems possible.

The semimain is listed as Peste Negro (Felino, Mr. Niebla, Negro Casas) versus the returning Dragon Lee, Soberano and Valiente, but we know Negro Casas won’t be participating. Guerrero Maya, Rey Cometa and Stuka take on Hechicero, Polvora & Universo 2000 Jr. in the semimain. The opening matches include Flyer, Vega and, yes, Policeman.

There are still no FantasticaMania lineups. It has to be the Negro Casas replacement situation, but the shows are about 3 days away now and it’s very strange.

Zeuxis posted a message on Twitter celebrating her title win, talking about starting the year in independent arenas and new projects and changes this year. That kind of sounds like a person who’s not planning on sticking around in CMLL, though she is booked in Arena Mexico on Tuesday.

The New Zealand Herald has an article on Johnny Idol. He didn’t know anyone when he came to Japan, but had a goal of making it to a big company within six months, and start with CMLL in month five. He says he was first earning around 300 pesos ($15.50USD) per match when he started out and now gets paid up to 5000 pesos ($260USD.)
