Tecnicos didn’t get along but still won.

CMLL put this show up yesterday evening. It appears the reason it did not stream is they were having some recording or streaming issues: the video jumps ahead a couple seconds at random moments. I’ve had this happen to me, it’s some device along the way not being able to keep up with the video stream and dropping moments of video when they get behind. It’s not totally unwatchable, but it is distracting and makes it nothing you need to go back to watch. (I’ll probably still do some sort of recap.)

It’s totally understandable CMLL didn’t want to stream it, but it would’ve been nice if they simply tweeted “we have tech problems, see you tomorrow.”

Rush beat UG with outside help from Pierroth

I haven’t seen anything of this yet, but Volador & Sam Adonis sounds like it went pretty well. Attendance was up from a normal Tuesday show, but not dramatically so – it looks like something that would still be a disappointing Friday show. There was a lot done to honor rescue workers and the military during the show, which got them a lot of extra press and saw some political candidates attend to attach themselves to it.

I kept there would be a DQ or some complicated finish in Adonis/Volador, but they just went with the simple bit of the heroic Mexican cleanly defeating the evil foreigner in front of the military.

Rey Fenix was in the crowd for the show. Maybe he wanted to see the dogs.

CMLL put out a press release explaining their holiday schedule. It’s different from what they announced at their press conference a few weeks ago and I’m not sure why. At least we know in advance. You can read the full chart here, but let’s narrow it down to streaming shows for simplicity (though CMLL hasn’t been totally clear about this either.) All times are Central.

12/22 Friday: normal 8:30pm start for Volador/Caristico  [Claro]
12/25 Monday: early 5pm start for the 10 man cage match [YouTube, could be delayed or paid]
12/26 Tuesday: normal 7:30pm [YouTube]
12/29 Friday: normal 8:30pm start [YouTube]
01/01 Monday: early 5pm start for Adonis/Casas hair match [YouTube, could be delayed or paid]
01/02 Tuesday: normal 7:30pm [YouTube]
01/06 Saturday: early 5pm start – could be special Best of 2017 show [Claro]
(schedule returns to normal after this point)

Note that means no show on 01/05 Friday so they can run a big show on the traditional children’s holiday of January 6th instead. The press release says fans will be able to take photos with the Pequeno Reyes Magos, which sounds like the Micro Stars. There were apparently other changes in DTU beyond cutting ties with Angel O Demonio, so that firing was probably a real thing and not some X-LAW angle. I do not know what happened.

Yesterday afternoon, Garza Jr. went on Facebook Live to claim he and many other people who had worked the 12/08 ELITE show in Cuautitlán. He mentions Bandido & Fuerza among the others early on, then names most of the top names later on. Garza also posted a Whatasapp conversation he had been having – or trying to have – with Elite owner Ernesto Santillan, asking when he would get paid and getting no response for days. Someone named Michael Abreu, claiming to represent Elite, said Garza had been paid in advance and posted a photo of that check with a lot of key information redacted. People noticed the check didn’t look right, and found that it was actually a well known fraudulent check, something Abreu had apparently found on Google and marked up to make it look like it was for Garza. Abreu deleted everything after he was caught.

Elite’s next show is 12/25 in Mexico City. They haven’t announced matches five days out, and some of the people mentioned as not being paid are on this poster, so who knows what will happen. Golden Magic was still hyping the show after the Garza stuff started to happen so I assume he’s still in and believes the show is on.

Sunday’s Revolucha main event of Ciberentico versus LA Park versus Rush ended with Cafian winning. He was a late sub for Cibernetico, who had flight issues, and Park & Rush fouled each other to give Caifan the opening. The Revolucha was said to be the worst turnout they’ve had at the new location, while MDA drew very well in Arena Coliseo Monterrey at the same time.

MDA is hyping the Alberto earthquake benefit show on 01/20, so I suspect they’re the ones actually running it now if they weren’t before. They fixed the poster a bit, getting the right photos of Sexy Dulce and Caristico on there. Caristico’s still never mentioned being on this show, which would be odd for him to be on.

MedioTiempo has an interview with Aerostar about how Abismo Negro started him in the wrestling business.

This looks like a replacement for the 12/25 and maybe 01/01 Sunday shows. I’m going to guess Neutron finally loses.
