Shocked fouled Marco.

Still seemed to be headed to a title match here. Weekend shows are booked more logically than Friday shows, though also with a lot less effort. No mentioned of anything with Caristico & Volador.

final two from last Sunday’s cibernetico. Terrible took 1/3 to win the vacant title. He’s the 65th known champion.

That’s title match is a surprise. CMLL booking making no sense has it’s upsides. Match was said to be good. I have no idea who Terrible defends against – Stuka, Blue Panther and (I guess) Rush were the only other tecnicos in the decision match. But there are worse ideas.

On his Facebook, Vampiro says he wrestled Friday night in the Arena San Juan main event as a replacement in Arena San Juan, because someone quit AAA. The scheduled main event was Angelico & La Parka vs Averno & Chessman,. My understanding is Vampiro replaced Angelico but Angelico hasn’t quit AAA. I assume La Parka wrestled here because he didn’t wrestle for Martinez.

Daylight Savings Time ended in Mexico Sunday morning. It does not change in the US or Canada until next weekend. For this week, and this week only, all the CMLL streams will air an hour later due to that time difference. (Puebla is 10PM CDT, Tuesday is 8:30, Friday is 9:30.) This is only a one week thing for US/Canada people. If you’re in Japan, or elsewhere which doesn’t do DST, it means everything is an hour later until spring.

(This probably means I should go to AAW on Friday, since I still might be able to get back from that to catch the last couple matches from CMLL. Still need to pack.)

Lady Apache was interviewed this weekend to build up an appearance in Arizona. She said she’s working more in the US because indie promoters in Mexico aren’t paying anything (and blames extreme matches for that.) She also says she’s been blackballed since trying to start a new union in 2014. She’s been part of Octagon’s more recent effort to do the same.

F1 was in Mexico City this weekend. There weren’t any AAA matches this year, but Mistico did hang out with a driver.

Lucha Memes 11/20 Arena Naucalpan (Chairo 11) matches

It’s Mr. Niebla. If he shows up in good condition, there’s going to be some hard chops in that match. I hope they have a plan for if he doesn’t show up or if he shows up in bad condition, because it’s Mr. Niebla. CMLL isn’t even booking Niebla right now; they listed Tuesday and pulled him for Mascara 2000, and his last CMLL match was September 23rd.

The local promoter for AAA’s TV taping in Ciudad Juarez on 11/19 now lists a Lady Shani vs Venus mask match. This is probably something just for the Juarez crowd: those two teamed on the last show, and I assume broke up. The Juarez taping for the Pimpinela/Mamba hair match earlier the year, which had also been built up just on local angles. I can’t think of anywhere else where AAA is letting the local promoter build up matches using their wrestlers for TV tapings. It’s a good idea, but also suggests the promoter has some extra money to throw around to pay for these matches. Juarez has drawn pretty well, which may help with that.

Kevin Kross was scheduled to face Alberto el Patron on a Championship Wrestling From Hollywood show in Arizona on Saturday. It was a TV taping for what will be run a similar style promotion based on Arizona, and explains a reason why Kross was looking to shift from “barely being used in AAA” to “being free to work wherever else.” However, Alberto did not actually appear on the show, and instead sent a video message saying he was staying in Mexico due to family health issues. The promotion didn’t announce Alberto not being there until the end of the show, which fans were understandably not thrilled about.

Likewise, Rey Mysterio missed his scheduled match with Juventued Guerrera in Brasil today. He was flying in from Europe and had plane issues.

The Misterioso from California (not the CMLL one) is in Dragon Gate this weekend. They’ve been trying Mexican wrestlers out this year from time to time, with Ciclon Ramirez Jr. & Dragon Fly having brief (and unproductive) outcomes. DTU is supposed to send someone there from their year long tryout competition, whenever that should end.

Monterrey’s soccer team mascot dressed up as LA Park. Meanwhile, LA Park wants a mask match with Psycho Clown (or, probably just wants the payoff Psycho Clown is getting.)

Lanzelot hopes his cruiserweight title win is the first step to becoming a star for AAA.

Titan is now on twitter as @titan_cmll.

Northern Mexico luchador Hijo del Espanto II passed away on Saturday. A funeral was held Sunday. No cause of death was mentioned.

LuchaWorld has the latest Lucha Report and a preview of the latest Lucha Classica.

Second to last taping of the year, and probably the last one to air in 2017. They’re set up to air on 12/16 and 12/23 (so don’t think too much about these matches, it’ll be two months from now until you see them.

Both the undercard championships matches are of the “give people something to do to keep them happy” variety, and so any outcome is possible. The mystery lady in probably planned to be the same one to be revealed this Friday in Queretaro.
